  1. So, I have an odd question. Do you ever send flowers to your significant other, to their work place? Reason I ask, I have been sending roses to my girl for years, for her birthday and valentines day for years. Just wondering, how do other ladies at work feel about this kind of thing? My girlfriend loves it (she is a bit of a ham), but I sometimes wonder if it causes other people at her job to resent her, because of it. She recently started a new job, I really want it to work out. For some reason sending them to her at home, or just bringing them home from the floritst doesn't seem to mean as much to her...like I said, she is a bit of an attention lover. At her two previous jobs (when I have known her, met her at one of them) she has had some friction with other females. I always take her side, but I sometimes wonder if her "flirty" nature causes problems for her. If there are any ladies out there (I know there are a few of you), would love some input...I expect nothing but impractical and usesless insight from the rest of you! Ha-ha!
  2. Yeah...should have ended it when Carrell left. I loved all the "supporting" characters, but they do not carry a show. Ed Helms, in particular, is just painful to watch on that show...I will be honest, I stopped watching after the Halloween episode this season...will likely catch them someday in re-runs (it is on about 3 different stations where I am, back to back episodes)... do like Erin, and used to find the Angela character hilarious...but the more they are on, the less true to their original character they become, the less funny the show is. The original British show was funnier...the Brits, in general, seem to realize that less is more sometimes.

  4. Didn't play bad? He played great...after a sluggish start, he is going on what looks to be one of his hot streaks...he was great tonight, and was really strong against the Islanders too...Sabres just aren't getting enough shots, and giving up too many. Though they don't take a ton of shots, they have been getting quality shots from the deeper lines...Folingo/Ennis/Stafford line starting to heat up. I will say, they are playing a little better though...no shame in losing to the Bruins, an elite team...though a win would have been really nice.
  5. Gawd...pitiful...those uniforms!
  6. I realize, not many here who care for country music...but, if you are like me, I just can't get enough of that 50's, 60's honky-tonk stuff...and I, mostly, get frustrated when people like Taylor Swift and Rascal Flats get held up as being representative of what country music is. If that was country music, I would hate it too. Recently, drug-store Cowboy Blake Shelton (popular for some reason...or did he just marry well?) made some disparaging remarks about music fans (like me I suppose) who write off what he and his ilk as something less than genuine, and watered down, adult contemporary crap-ola. Shelton said these people are a bunch of "old farts" who carry on like "jackasses". Anyways, the modern day purveyor of "real" country music, Dale Watson (my personal hero) came up with this little re-buttal to Blake Shelton...besides being a pretty funny little song, the picking is great!
  7. I have seen it a few times, when it was on ABC, while I didn't think it was awful, it is rare that I will commit time to a show one of the "big three (4)" networks... I know it is on another channel now (TNT?), but, alas there are too many other good shows on to follow it...perhaps a marathon on TV Land in 10 years is the way to go! Right now, the only network series I watch, and not even regularly, is the "Mindy Project" which I think is pretty funny. Used to watch "The Office", but it is almost unwatchable now... The main draw for "Cougar Town", for me, would be Christina Miller...I used to think she was smoking hot on the old "Drew Carey Show"....she still looking good, but it is obvious plastic surgery has had it's influence. Courtney Cox never did much for me... I
  8. Wow...had to watch the game on delay...glad they won (all of the sudden only a game under .500!) but, yeah, defensively this game was bad for the Sabres...Miller was terrific...if he goes on one his tares, this season may not be lost. Lots of good creativity on the offensive end of the game (not a lot of shots though...the Sabres always get outshot...always for about as long as I can remember!)...Myers sat out the game...maybe Lindy is listening? Anyways, a win is a win...hockey is probably as the flukiest of any team sport...would like to see more in the defensive end...bring on the Bruins! Beating them again (you realize the Sabres are the only team to have beaten them in regulation?) would be sweet..get the team back to .500, a three game winning streak, Miller finding his game...and Vanek humming right along....just happy for a win...even if it is only the Islanders. For the last few years, especially, it is "inferior" teams like the Islanders, Capitals, Panthers, etc that give the Sabres fits. As it stands right now, Sabres tied with Philly and Winnipeg for the last playoff spot in the East...all three teams at 5-6-1. They are unquestionably better than they have been, but I think, coming in to tonights' game, they sport the same record that the Sabres had at 4-6-1. They are a fast team...
  9. Eugene Marve was actually a very good player, on some of the worst Bills teams ever. That might not be saying much, but IIRC he had a very nice career when he went to Tampa Bay...I think he even made their all decade team...he may have been a better Buc than Bill, but there had to be a kernal of that talent in Buffalo.
  10. This past summer, I almost started a thread trying to come up with the Bills best possible roster from 2001-2011...but then I realized I didn't want to get depressed over the Bills in the off-season too....essentially this thread is the same thing!
  11. There aren't many tight ends who can last an entire season...the two or three that do are freaks.
  12. There is always room for James Hardy on my all-time suck roster...a guy who was drafted for a very specific role, and couldn't even make it onto the field most weeks...
  13. It's a numbers game, I think...though I won't pretend to understand all the ins and out of the NHL roster make-up...further complicated by the shortened season. With Stafford, I don't see a lack of effort, just a lack of success...I don't know, maybe take the "A" off his chest will inspire him a little...with Myers, I am losing confidences. From what I have been hearing, Lindy has been uncharastically quiet so far this season, trying to take a "softer, gentler" approach...it seems like Myers is following suit. He has been a defensive liabilty all season so far, and honeslty, wasn't too great last season either.
  14. I am partial the 1980 team, because it was the first Bills team in my cognisent Bills life that ever seemed to have a legit chance to qualify for a Super Bowl...alas... Just curious though (and I have no strong opinion either way) normally, the 1991 team is held in higher esteem than the 1990 team, from the Super Bowl era...why is that? As I recall, the 1990 team was a little more consistant defensively, but the 1991 team was a bit more explosive offensively. Hey, you were typing that as I was typing in my vote for the 1980 team! Why is everyone so pricky lately? It would be one thing if he was trying to sell something...but the link seems pretty harmless.
  15. Yes, I kind of agree. That seems to have been the case the last few years, with the explosion of "NFL Insiders". Funny thing is, I listen to other segments that Clayton does in out of town markets, and, often, his info seems to be in conflict over what he says in other cities. Like he just has the need to make some statement that will keep fans buzzing in the particular city he is guesting in. That said, I still don't have any sense of what kind of a team Marrone and co. are trying to build, so I wouldn't rule anything out.
  16. Someone just got zonabbed!
  17. I like Fitz a lot, but I think there is some truth to what Joe says. If you are going to start over, start over. I think everyone likes Fitz, personally, but if you watched the games this year, you can't help but have serious concerns about how good he is. And, I make this point all the time, he would be a terrifice backup QB option, but maybe not for the Bills. We are all basing our postive feelings for the guy after observing him as a "nobody" who came off the bench and usurped our starting QB (Edwards), when we didn't have any other options. He performed decently at times, but lets' face it, the longer he played, the less effective he was. And, if we take him at his word, he still feels like he is an NFL caliber starting QB. We really don't know how good of a backup QB he would be, in Buffalo, after being asked to take a pay-cut, and losing his job. You are overlooking a lot of poor performances by Fitzpatrick. He is sub-par in accuaracy, which, IMO, affects the whole offense.
  18. FWIW: http://wgr550.com/ES...an-Int/15478257 Personally, I think Clayton says a lot of stuff, just to have something to say..but whatever!
  19. Yeah, I know...but call me crazy, I think still think this team has enough talent that they should at least qualify for one of the 8 playoff spots in the East.
  20. Heard that Carolina is going to make Bowe their FA top priority. Exactly... I liked Donald Jones alright (I too think he was the victim of some awful QB play...dude took a beating trying to catch some of Fitz garbage passes), but lets see what they do to replace him, before we get too upset.
  21. Nice win tonight, though the win masks a lot of bad play, again (Myers with another rough outing)...this team would be totally boned without Vanek... when they win, it is terrific (fun win tonight..the other team coughing it up in the final seconds for a change!), and I want to get excited..but we have the Islander and Bruins this weekend (two tough games..Islanders playing well) and then the Senators and Bruins again during the week...time to dig themselves out of the hole they have dug...great opportunity to make some headway here. Also nice to see Ennis/Foligno line starting to play better...
  22. Best post in a while!
  23. I won't disagree with that, the "axe to grind" part. Still, I do think, if you listened close enough, he passed along some valuable info.
  24. One coverage skill would be one more than our LB's seem to have now...
  25. Agreed. I don't mind that they didn't make a call, but that ball was only uncatcable if you assume that the contact with the defender didn't slow down Crabtree at all (meaing he is really, really slow) and that Crabtree has no vertical leap whatsover...none.
