1. Peters looked terrible. He went to the inside on one play(mental error??) and Peppers went in untouched on KH. On the next series, he dragged down Peppers and got called for holding(referee called out the wrong number). The signing was a good one, but he has a long way to go. 2. K. Williams made some very good plays and I also thought Denney looked good. I still believe there is a chance that Denney could end up starting in place of Kelsay. 3. McGee did not look good, but if memory serves me right, he was picked on at times last year also. He can make the big play, but appears to need to develop some consistency to his game. 4. Aiken was the only receiver to make his presence known in the battle for the 3,4 & 5 spots on the depth chart. 5. Holcomb is just pitiful. Assuming JP will be the starter and if Nall can show anything before the final cutdown, I'd seriously consider cutting Holcomb and bringing in a young QB as the #3. THERE IS NO UPSIDE IN HOLCOMB'S GAME!. 6. WTF was Losman doing in the game with a bunch of OL who won't even be on the roster come the start of the season. He was lucky not to be seriously hurt. Not very smart Jauron. 7. Gates looked good and Thomas was okay. Assuming WM can handle being the 3rd down back, Shaud Williams may not make it. 8. Ricard and Shelton should be an interesting battle. I've never been a big Shelton fan and I think his blocking is very overrated. Ricard showed some nice hands last night and I don't think it would take much for him to win the job. 9. Greer made a couple of nice plays and will continue to be either the nickel or dime back. 10. Whitner looked okay considering he has only been in camp for a week and missed almost all of the OTA's. His hitting ability seems to be up to par for a NFL SS. I didn't notice much out of McCargo except to see him chasing after the play several times.

Moulds looking good in Texans camp ...
LabattBlue replied to merlin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Andre Reed is going to have a tough time getting in the HoF and if that is the case, Moulds doesn't even come close to even be discussed. -
Why the heck wouldn't you play Whitner tomorrow?
LabattBlue replied to stevewin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Because every play that Whitner is on the field for, is one more nail in Wire's coffin. -
Are "Sabres dollars" and "Sabres bucks"(which can be used for concessions and the gift shop) one in the same?

CFL Fans - any opinions on Eskimo's
LabattBlue replied to stuckincincy's topic in Off the Wall Archives
The only thing I know about the CFL is that this former St. Joe's grad is making quite the name for himself... http://www.cfl.ca/index.php?module=roster&...play&ros_id=408 -
What??? Aren't you impressed with Kelsay's "High Motor"? I seriously believe that you may see Denney starting by mid-season if Kelsay doesn't start to show some productivity. I'm not sure I believe what I just wrote.

He is fighting on Saturday at a county fairgrounds in Arkansas. Just give it up already. The chance for the big payday has come and gone. http://buffalonews.com/editorial/20060810/1025162.asp

That is certainly a way around it.

Who will be the new scapegoats?
LabattBlue replied to LevysEraII's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Amen. No matter what anybody posts here, come the regular season everybody wants to see the Bills win. -
Holcomb gives us the best chance to win.

I'll sum up my feelings about Captain Dump-off very simply...he makes me wish Travis Brown was a Bill again. -
Favorite PLAYER...Marv Levy??

What makes you believe that any of these WR's are good enough to be a #3 on all other NFL teams when except for Davis, none of them have ever filled that role in the NFL? I don't know what Aiken, Wilson or Smith have done with the Bills that led you to this opinion?

For the last 3 years while Posey was for the most part invisible, all I heard was that "he was doing what the coaches asked him to do in that scheme". I've never heard of a scheme where you are almost NEVER involved in the play. Even by accident, he should have made a play now and then. I guess Jauron had a different impression of his play. Good-bye and good riddance.

WEASE...How does he get so many Bills...
LabattBlue replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
During his brief stint on 92.9 or another FM station here in Buffalo, he was going through chemo. Shortly after that, the program was dropped. How is he doing now? -
Buffalo casino project in jeopardy...
LabattBlue replied to LabattBlue's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Are you talking about the city or the suburbs? All you have to do is look at the city school system and you would know that it is NOT a great place to raise kids. Even without kids, there are only a few areas of the city worth living in. The rest are a joke. -
The thread to end the QB competition
LabattBlue replied to generaLee83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You mean Coach Jauron doesn't read what's posted here? Next thing I know, you are going to tell me there is no Santa Claus. Seriously...If you are tired of QB related threads, start ones that deal with other positions. -

I can't wait to hear the explanation behind this. -
Buffalo casino project in jeopardy...
LabattBlue replied to LabattBlue's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Have you been in the area where they wanted to build the casino? What small businesses are down there? Except for the Perry projects and surface parking lots for the arena, there has been nothing there for 20 years or more. -
This city continues to be unable to get out of it's own way.... The casino project is in jeopardy, because the city won't sell some piece of s-h-i-t land that has been vacant forever to the Senecas. Why...because the Senecas won't promise that 1/2 of the employees will be city residents and 1/3 minorities or women. So instead, we get some half a$$ building with a 100 slot machines. F*** the city of Buffalo politicians. I'll never believe a single word that comes out of their mouths. http://www.buffalonews.com/editorial/20060803/1024673.asp

10. Marv's constipated 9. The players don't like training camp 8. There is an X-box tourney tonight in McGahee's room 7. Jauron gave his thoughts on bullhorns and alarm clocks 6. The grass was green 5. Players are encouraged to watch their fluids 4. Moorman & Lindell thumb wrestle when nobody else is looking 3. Vincent didn't hit anybody wearing a red jersey 2. Coy Wire is still having problems with his angles. 1. There was a Chuck Lester sighting...He wasn't doing anything!

The NFL Network, Gettin' their game on
LabattBlue replied to BuffaloWings's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Since you quoted my post, I assume you are talking to me?? First of all, I don't live in the city of Buffalo, so I don't know what good it would do for me to call them. In addition, who's whining? All I said was that I had heard that the channel lineup may stay the same. -
What horseshit this is. Who cares about goddam hockey in July!

The NFL Network, Gettin' their game on
LabattBlue replied to BuffaloWings's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Has this been stated?I thought I heard some rumblings that the channel lineup would stay the same, at least intially. -
Why can't WGR get Whitner's mother on so that we know what the latest and greatest is! In addition to contract negotiations, she can tell us what he had for breakfast, what his favorite toy was as a boy and if he had a solid BM this morning. Stop talking about the stupid Sabres in July!
-
Maybe there was just not a better alternative in 03 and 04. Doesn't mean he was a solid starter.
