I also agree the signing will be a burden (it already has been) as we continue to try to make it to the holy land. That being said, I think this man has earned a bit of patience from the fan base to give us what we signed him to do.

From a contract standpoint, he’s under contract for the next two seasons (‘24 and ‘25). This takes him through his age 36 season. If for some reason he really slows down and KC decided to move on, most of his guaranteed money is off the books…so they could get out from under that contract for relatively cheap. Gronk called it quits (the second time) at 33. Dallas Clark at 35. Tony Gonzalez retired at 37. Jason Witten at 38. Antonio Gates at 39. He seems like the kind of guy who has zero interest in playing elsewhere. I could see him playing out the current contract, and coming back on 1 year minimal value deals if they’re still contenders.
