Steelers OC May Have Burner Account.
EmotionallyUnstable replied to Donuts and Doritos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yup, boring. Not blaming them. They know what they’re doing. I think that’s why I have a soft spot for some coaches in the way they handle themselves differently (Tomlin, McDaniels). They just add a layer of fun to it. -
Steelers OC May Have Burner Account.

If this is true, I need more of it. I love when coaches speak the truth. That’s why listening to a McD presser is about the last thing I’d ever want to do. Not that it is necessarily untrue, but it isn’t whole truths. Its boring. Give me more chaos -
Quick glimpse into the Jags at the quarter turn compared to the rest of the NFL. Opponents listed below, to add your own grain of salt: Games: Colts (W), Chiefs (L), Texans (L), Falcons (W) Offense: PPG (20th) Pass/Run Ratio (58/42) 18th Completion % (12th) Passing yards (11th) Yards/Completion (21st) Yards/Carry (26th) Defense: Scoring (12th) Yards (17th) Sack % ( 22nd) Op. y/completion (24th) Op. y/rush (12th) Thoughts: I admittedly haven’t watched much of the Jags this year, aside from highlights and reading stats. From what I know about their roster and these statistics, along with the narratives that have been spoken about this team up until this point in the season, we are hands down the better team. Last Sunday saw both units operating at maximum efficiency. That won’t always be the reality. Although you may need games like that in January, I don’t feel like this is one of them. I think McD is smart enough to recognize that this game can be handled with fundamental football, lining up and playing soundly. We don’t need anything splash or special on either side of the ball. Just do you job, and I feel this will be a comfortable win.

2022 Draft which was looking pretty awful last year coming back with a vengeance: Elam, Cook, Bernard, Shakir, Benford. Some key players in here. As well as some guys who will need to be counted on in the near future. -
NFL Offense > Defense Pendulum Swinging Back?
EmotionallyUnstable replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sure. But there are also examples of teams that have game breaking players (Lions, Jags, Chargers, etc) which I wouldn’t necessarily say are high functioning offenses or as complimentary as those previously stated. Again, nothing new here. Just seems to be more prevelant. Last week Bengals vs Rams, the offense couldn’t get anything go and both defenses seemed to be in control of most of that game. Both of those teams, within the last few years, have been considered top notch. -
NFL Offense > Defense Pendulum Swinging Back?

Appreicate the info. I am not savvy nor dedicated enough to find this info. I do wonder what other statistical measures could be explored. Are sacks up? Yards? Turnovers? It could be both that offensive scoring continues to be at all time highs while defensive impact is also more prevelant, leading to more scoring in its own way. -
NFL Offense > Defense Pendulum Swinging Back?

Cleveland Dallas Buffalo San Fransisco Phili The game has evolved, and continues to be, an offensive game. However, it seems that teams have started to counter this with both scheme (2 high safeties, etc) and personnel. There are hosts of other teams with dynamic pass rushers, good defenses and parity seems to be at an all-time high. Even some of the best offenses of years past aren’t nearly as dangerous or unstoppable as they seemed to have been previously. I personally think it’s great for the game, but why? Have defenses started to catch up? Is this just an illusion to me? Or are we starting to see a transition back towards prioritizing pieces of the defensive side of the ball? -
Everybody pre season calling Dawkins fat, out of shape, lazy, etc. He’s a good tackle and a cost controlled price.

Amazing that they aren’t talking about how Mahomes almost lost this game for them. then again maybe I shouldn’t be surprised
-
Agree. He was one too many cuts.

Collinsworth praising Mahomes ability to avoid an out of control DB and then throw an incomplete pass
