Yeah I think there is a sense of controversy that plays like this generate that the NfL might like and encourage. As frustrating as it is, it almost ways brings commentary and press to these situations. Whether it’s penalties, spotting the ball, etc there is always part of me that wonders how precise the nfl would actually like these things to be. Does it remove some of the contentious discussion that we’ve learned to despise yet continue to rehash? I don’t think they way to entirely remove all gray area.

This is the kind of game and build up that the saints take the opening kick off, drive the field and go up 7-0. Bills Mafia panics and everyone calls for heads to roll. They then go on to lose 34-7.

He’s at around 70% of total snaps through 3 games. That’s on par with what Groot played all of last year. I think this is probably where they want to operate. Solomon is not a valid option to play that many snaps IMO so I imagine with Hoecht returning in a couple weeks it’ll taper off a bit.

Good question. Id probably use the final call up. Logue has played well IMO when elevated. With Ogun returning and Ed on the mend, you’d hope you’ve made it through the toughest stretch with DT numbers. Who knows how game ready Phillips is in terms of conditioning. It’d be interesting to watch as using his 3rd call up essentially renders him useless until January.

If the Bills played a flawless game, some would complain that they didn’t face enough adversity. They are a great team, not without flaws, but we got 17. It’s all good.

Like @GunnerBill, despite my initial thought that DQ was a potential trade/release candidate to account for the numbers, he was great Thursday. All be in I am only through the first half of the tape, but he was our most consistent disruptor. Hes also playing a lot of 3T right now, which will likely change when Oliver gets back. Despite playing “out of position” he still saw a lot of double teams. This is a fascinating discussion that I thought a lot about in pre season. The closer we’ll get, the more we will know. I just don’t see any way they’ll add a DL without releasing one. Epinessa, Hamlin, Codrington, Ingram all make a ton of sense to me

Cam Lewis is getting legit PT on defense over Hamlin. He also plays teams. #3 was the defender who lost contain on the opening kickoff against the phins. I don’t see either guy being cut at this point but I am not so sure it’d be guarenteed to be cam getting cut over Damar.

I am only through the first half. Regarding the run game, those who said they went to a 5 man front: they did a fair amount of this in the first half as well. Generally speaking the Bills run game was just bodies on bodies and let cook work. They really aren’t doing anything fancy. It’s inside zone, duo, student body left. Not as much man scheme so far. I think McGovern had a tough half in the ground game. Curious to see if that continues. The number on condensed formations, and variations of personnel seemed overwhelming to Miami.

Zion Logue Joey Bosa Javon Solomon What does this list have in common? Aside from being defensive lineman, they all also dropped into zone coverage yesterday. I’m still working through this film but between some bizarre play calling and guys just not making plays, it is a tough watch on D sometimes. My favorite so far is an achane run which was an attempt at power. Daquon Jones complete beats his guy across from him off the ball, and blows up the pulling guard who was en route to kick out Rousseau. That left both 50 and Shaq unblocked on the edge and yet they somehow both get beat to the outside when it bounces for a cool 10+ yard gain.

Even Solomon got a snap at LB yesterday. Babich out here just drawing up scheeeeeet
