  1. So at this point with only #60, and next years pick, can we assume a player trade is unlikely? Getting Aiyuk would be my preference if possible but idk what the capital could be.
  2. This has gone exactly how I thought it would and exactly how I wished it wouldn’t! Go get Aiyuk!!!!
  3. Feeling like the Seahawks at 16 is really in play here. If they go to 16 for Brian Thomas Jr giving up the 2nd they got from Minny in the Diggs trade, they can still come back next year with full draft capital and swing again for a WR if he doesn’t work out
  4. We are in play at 9 now for Odunze. If they want it. Chargers pick allowed it
  5. Ehhh I doubt it. Schene abd Dabol gotta win now. They need immediate talent. You want the #4 QB ?
  6. Same but mostly because I’m too cheap to pay for a service. Rabbit ears baby!
  7. I am all for this move @Virgil. It seems like a small price to pay for getting a skill set we don’t have that could be a potential #1 with the floor as a downfield threat while maintaining our 2nd this year and our original picks next season. If BTJ doesn’t pan out, you can take another stab next season to find your true #1
  8. With the 16th pick, the Seattle Seahawks select Taliese Fuaga, OT Oregon State. The Jaguars and @LEBills are on the clock. From a purely value standpoint, I don’t love this here. We were hopeful Verse fell one more spot to us. Mike McDonald would have been thrilled to add a defensive piece that can play both end or OLB and be a versatile pass rusher. We did have offers to move back, but with a first year HC and needs in the trenches, we stood pat and bolstered the OL. Fuaga can come in and immediately contend at both guard and tackle. Again this feels a bit uninspiring here and a little early all things considered, however when you get a chance to take a big nasty hog who can play multiple spots on the OL for years to come we’ll go to bed happy Thursday night
  9. @GunnerBill, care to share your numerical process here? What abilities or standards are you assessing that leads you to these tiered values? Obv the executives in the league use their own versions to grade and value players, but I am curious if you’d share your system. Additionally, how does this class stack up against your previous evals? For example, who is the closest ranked player (above and below) to each of these talents? I appreciate the objective scale because it allows you to maintain perspective. We want to draft players based on how they’ll preform vs other nfl talents, not based on how they performed vs other players in their class.
  10. Good post. I also think this data is difficult to really mine. Especially in the NFL, with so many mixed coverages, simply looking at “man vs. zone” doesn’t nearly give any insight into what the specific skills are that are needed to win within either of these scenarios. For example, within a match zone coverage, defenders are essentially playing man, depending on how things shake out. So what, from a receivers abilities stand point, do people mean when they say they want someone who can win vs man? For me: - Can you get off the LOS? - Can you stay pure in your route not allowing disruption? - Are you strong at the top of your route? - Are you nuisanced enough to position yourself to cleanly break while a defender is in phase? - Are your routes clean enough (quick/efficient) to provide room to win? - Can you threaten with long stride speed? - Can you make contested catches? - Are you reliable within traffic? - Are you a dog? How tenacious are you? Effort? Although some of these can be applied to looking at how a player performs vs zone, I think a lot of the above qualities are that which are generally thought of when people say “he’s gotta win vs man coverage” and can also be said of the traditional X receiver.
  11. Although I’ll generally agree with this sentiment, idk that it would have made any difference with the front they gave. They wanted to get Jones in a 1v1 and they had their best on ours, and he lost. Sometimes you just get beat. This will be interesting moving forward, with McGovern slated to take over at C. She. They brought it Morse, I thought that was such a savvy move for a team building up a young QB. It takes the pressure off them being able to rely on your bigs to get it right in the trenches. At this point though, Allen should be able to easily handle navigating the OL. Josh’s big play mentality often leads him into a tunnel vision IMO by pre-determining to some degree how he sees or feels something will work out. You see it a lot with the forced throws to Diggs, or the early scrambles. And I also think this comes to fruition with setting protection. His mentality has been (not always but at times) that we like a look, and we’re going to do this, and if it’s not there or someone bleeds through, I’ll just create in space.
  12. Great watch. A few take aways: - Diggs limitations plus cost made him expendable (effort, unable to get of LOS, lack of closing ability when it matters)…plus a 2nd round pick coming back….it hurts but it was better that sticking with what you know wasn’t working - I have concerns about Brady and what he’ll do to bring the passing game back to the next level. As JT mentioned, he saw some spots he wishes we would have taken some shots and ended up with running plays in favorable situations. I hope we turn up the dial, and trend back the other direction. - Allen is a monster, but will he learn to settle into his own progressions especially as he ages. Will Beane and McD give him the tools to feel comfortable doing that? - Feeling pretty good about the OL moving forward. I know there were plenty of clips of guys getting beat or making mental errors, but overall I believe them to be a solid group that can be a real asset to this team.
  13. Alright fanatics, Venmo me your spare change and let’s get this done
  14. I’d be surprised if the Gmen take a QB with their current GM/Coach combo. I have them pegged at one of the big 3. I also disagree on the Bears and Jax, but for different reasons. I think the Bears still are firmly in the WR market despite recent acquisitions. Jax isn’t dying for a number one, with Christian Kirk and the additions of Gabe Davis but I do agree that they still could look at WR. Could they do better to protect Lawrence? Probably.
  15. This is me. Im dying for a banger trade for the excitement of getting a legit prospect. It would be entertaining. Realistically I don’t think it’s the best choice, but from a pure enjoyment standpoint: I’d rather get hyped for someone everyone loves than settling for WR5 at #28 and be left feeling like I have to convince myself to be excited.
