  1. Unpopular take alert: Gabe Davis is going to be big this weekend. I know despite all the criticisms and frustrations that have surrounded him this season, he is still a talent player who has good ball skills and field awareness. Im looking for Davis to have a big game with some contested catches or toe tap grabs. I think Allen trusts him, and will Diggs likely earning extra attention this weekend, I hope he gives him chances to make big plays. Check out his rookie highlight tape. You’ll see a top of top-notch grabs. This is still the same guy who ripped off 4 TDs and over 200 plus yards against the chiefs last year. If they allow him to get running, and create separation with his speed/stride, I like him for a big week.
  2. I appreciate this attempt. I am not so sure each review is the same as I would think about it. For example, you score the offensive line as being a slight upgrade because of RG. This does not take into account the mediocrity consistency can bring with it. For example, Spencer Brown’s return to the line-up….consistency is not always a good thing. Improvement in these areas is always the goal. I could go into detail about the obvious lack of assets and attention certain positions receiving compared to others, but we all know what they are. Instead, I think the bigger picture is that this year is still VERY real. We are a different team this season, and will take a different path to get to the promised land. The pieces we’ve added and lost will factor in, as it will with other teams too. If we are lucky enough to get the Chiefs again in the playoffs, we won’t sit here all week talking about how they are worse because they don’t have Tyrek Hill, or Hiney Badger. We’ll instead be taking about what they do have and how we match up and what can be done to stifle their team. I will forever remain salty over 13 seconds. However it will fade into the distance with success this year and we won’t have to hear about it from grumpy fans or sarcastic color analysts every time someone gets the ball at the end of half/game.

  4. I’m just happy to see that someone started a thread this week that was widely disliked than my Hines thread.
  5. Good point, although don’t they usually go “full” on Friday in these circumstances?
  6. My mom makes a habit of inviting community/church members to her house on Thanksgiving. Usually it’s the widowed elderly, a single adult or a new couple to the area. A few years back she invited a woman whom we had known well for years. She planned to come, as she did in a few years past. She never showed up. My mom called over to see if we should wait or go ahead and eat. Her sister picked up the phone. Turns out the poor lady died that morning. We didn’t hear the phone conversation, but you could see my moms face turn white with surprise and shock. As she hung up the phone, my uncle broke the silence by stating, “well, pass the mashed potatoes, I guess”
  7. I’ve acknowledged the bolded numerous times. My gripe is with the offensive role. The larger issue is that we are grasping at straws to try and surround the offense with talent to get us to the promised land. My desire to find an impactful player on offense has everything to do with those expectations. I’ve adjusted them. Hence, I’m over it! And yes, my patience is limited. There are only so many “get-right” opportunities left this year. As I meantioned in my OP, I think it’s entirely plausible his role on offense could/should be shelved and revisited next year. FWIW, I am not on the OBJ fanboy bandwagon.
  8. 9-2 and we’re winning? Is Ashton Kutcher hiding somewhere ready to pop out and tell us we’re being Punk’d?
  9. I get creeped out by that movie. Idky
  10. Dawkins Limited return is honestly an encouraging sign. Tomorrow will loom large. I imagine today was “test it out” and if he is limited tmrw, it is a good sign. A DNP would only certainly indicate he won’t play. As I predicted, a return Sunday would be 17 days from the injury, or just short of the 3 weeks mentioned in his recovery timeline.
  11. When I heard this was season ending, I cranked the ringer volume on my cell. I played DE in high school 15 years ago. You know McBeane and their hard on for DL depth
  12. I love the single bye. Initailly disliked it, but I think it adds competition to the end of season that might otherwise not be there.

  14. Apologies for the delayed responses, my fellow fans, yet life happens quickly these days: I appreciate the many perspectives brought up regarding Hines, his development, usage, offensive role and many other items brought into the mural that is this situation. I will admit that my own perception and expectations regarding what I thought he could be in this offense by now weighs heavily on what I’ve seen so far. Maybe these were unfair expectations. I really am surprised how many rose-colored opinions followed my OP. I imagine not as friendly of thoughts would have followed if that game resulted in an L, or looked different in offense. I am looking specifically at his results with the ball in his hands. Measurable production. He had a nice play on the 3rd down check-down. Regarding the “eye candy” he brought to our team, I don’t think the influence was from HIS motion but instead from THEE motion. Often play action and motions, regardless of personnel, have the desired result in moving defensive bodies in ways that are advantageous to your team. Does McKenzie get equal defensive respect on his jet motion? Probably. As I stated, this has nothing to do with his special teams role and everything to do with he usage on offense. I am over the trade because it hasn’t materialized in a manner that I had hoped it to. It’s frustrating looking around the league, and then back at our own squad, and seeing players acquired/drafted/brought in on the offensive side of the ball making a large, sustained impact for their team while we load up on defensive. I was pumped that we finally swung at adding a piece, and so far I don’t see anything that would make me think his role on offense will be all that impactful in the weeks ahead. I hope I am completely wrong. I hope he makes me eat these words. I am a Bills fan and want to see them succeed, and right now I just don’t think that Nyheim Hines is the offensive piece that will help us do that. P.S. I have nothing against the player, man, teammate, etc. By many accounts he is a good dude, teammate and history of performance. It was one of the reasons I was excited about the trade. P.S.S. Disagree with me again, and I’ll haunt your dreams!! 😁🥸🤪😱😳😎
  15. Home Alone Jingle All the Way How the Grinch Stole Christmas (original)
  16. I read on here it was a stinger, and he returned to action. So spleen it is.
  17. Ravens. Reading comprehension, man!
  18. Any idea what the waiver order was? Entirely plausible they put in a claim
  19. I don’t get why people see this in any way reflecting OBJ, Beasley, or even Botteger. He never counted against our current 53. The addition of one of those guys would require an entirely separate roster move
  20. Initially signed to 53 then immediately placed on IR to allow for potential in-season return
  21. That’s interesting. Wonder why they went this route, as opposed to allowing him to revert to IR
  22. Just gross.
