  1. So tonight I had a chance to rewatch the 2nd half of Baltimore (offensive snaps) and again had a particular focus on the run game: -FWIW, they were almost exclusively in 11 personnel this whole half. -the first drive after half began with two successful runs: toss for 15+ and a zone with a nice Singletary cut back for 9. - the very next play 2nd&9 never stood a chance, as Singletary was met behind the LOS as Dawkins was unable to meet the slanting DL. Would have liked to see Saffold lend a hand here before moving onto the 2nd level. -a few inconsequential runs of 3 and 4 scattered throughout to Singletary with decent movement upfront. I don’t mind these. -After the first Poyer INT - Moss goes for 1, with Bates blown up by the DL essentially ruining the play (the next play Bates/Moss get tripped up on a TE stunt in pass pro on 3rd&9 leading to an Allen sack - FYI) The final drive, after the roughing call, 1&10 from the 26 going in and Singletary loses a yard on a zone read. It looked to me as though they had 6 to block 7, with Allen expected to hold the 7th defender. It did not work. (Although the play action off of this to Knox is going to be wide open!) A few other thoughts: Despite the obvious negatives (fumble and dropped pass) I thought Singletary played a great ball game. He had some nifty runs after the catch in a few quick hitting pass plays, and was the most effective back helping out in protection. Two awesome Allen throws - Diggs on the 25+ out and McKenzie dime on the 3rd and 7 (which he was concussed on). Those were elite passes. Knox had two excellent blocks on screens: pancaking a player on the Shakir catch and run, and opening up a huge lane for Singletary on a quick hitting throw on the final drive. It is almost unbelievable how much trouble Allen bails this team out of. Go back and watch. It’s play after play of him eluding pressure, delivering a strike, running for positive yards when there is a fumbled snap, converting 4th downs. It almost seemed like every time he drops back, he is doing something above and beyond to make it all come together. Truly Amazing. I don’t think this teams rushing woes are truly as bad as we make them out to be. However, I do think that they need to get it done in short yardage. P.S. Ken Dorsey, if you’re reading this, can you PLEASE call me because I have lots of questions that reporters don’t/won’t ask
  2. You need the coach cut of the EZ view to see what was really happening here. I’m not abdicating him or responsibility but this view can be misleading
  3. Just rewatched the first half of the Baltimore game. I watched only the offensive snaps. Man, that was brutal. A few things really stuck out to me, especially in the run game: -most of their struggles came from out of 21 personnel, in 8 man boxes. I don’t know why Dorsey likes to pack them in and try to go Mano y Mano, but I don’t think we have the horses to just flat out move the LOS. -they actually ripped off a few good runs in the first half. Singletary’s fumble was well blocked and he probably goes for 8 or 9 on that play if he hangs on. Moss had a five yard run on a nice hole. - We ran the ball twice on 3&1. On the first attempt out of 21 personnel, the box was stacked and the formation had everyone bunched tight to the LOS. Morse and Bates were blown up. The play never stood a chance. On the second attempt, we were out of 11 personnel, in a 2x2 spread set. The box was light and a handoff to l Singletary went for almost 5. Other items of note: Drops from Diggs, Singletary, Cook (I’d throw crowder in here but that was a fast ball). Multiple tipped passes They ran on multiple occasions what looked at first to be a wheel combination, both times with Davis/McKenzie, but instead of wheeling up the sideline, McKenzie banged it off for a 5 yard slant. Diggs is often open. Edit: Anyone know how religiously Dorsey sticks to his script? How many plays?
  4. The ankle bone’s connected to the…hands bone
  5. If they do it right, they could essentially get two weeks off: An inconsequential Week 18 and a bye….I’ll take that, check please!
  6. He is no Lamar Jackson. 4.73 at the combine. Around what Allen ran. Yet, he is not a running threat they could lean on. I would group him in with someone like David Carr or Aaron Rogers regarding his capability and willingness. I don’t expect him to rip off 35 yard runs, but he is capable to extend plays and will keep his eyes down field looking to deliver the ball while on the move.
  7. Rams haven’t thrown the ball downfield at all. DB jumps the short pass. Surprise surprise
  8. 0.1% chance he signs there IMO
  9. Well they did win the Super Bowl last year… So by @Bills2022’s logic, he is a better coach than McDermott
  10. From what I’m reading: Looks like the Steelers OL can be vulnerable, especially if we come back healthy with Phillips and Oliver. They have some young players who appear to be inconsistent. They seem to get their best play out of their RT Chuck Okafor.
  11. I commend your hard work!
  12. If anyone gets to video of Bobby Wagner taking down the fan, I’d love to see it
  13. Stafford starting to feel like he is back in Detroit
  14. When they can’t run the ball, idk what else they have besides 10. Higbee seems to be the clear #2 weapon in the passing game.
  15. Whats up with Nick Bosa’s helmet?
  16. I still think we are the better team and likely win that match up, but you make excellent points
  17. This is something I noted against Baltimore I wonder if anyone can comment on: I noticed on multiple occasions, a defensive alignment that had both DEs lined up in 2 point stances in the A gaps on long down and distances. Generally we see that double A walk up from both LBs, I thought it was interesting to see Greg and Von, and another combination lined up on the inside.
  18. Jimmy G out there slingin in
  19. I had no idea Ray Ray McCloud was on the 9ers
  20. Problem with those heavy play action bootlegs is when the d doesn’t buy it, you got nothing Good talk guys
  21. Just saw this after I made one. Deleted mine. awesome catch Nothing is more frustrating as a viewer than watching a should-be sack turn into positive yards for the bad guys Higbee having a nice season
  22. I know we aren’t quite a quarter of the way (dang you game 17!) but I was thinking about all of the surprise players and teams around the league, both the good, the bad and the ugly. Here are some of mine: Kyle Pitts - where did he disappear to?! Cowboys - somehow surprising still alive G-Men - Dabol has his boys finding a way Pete Werner - never knew the guy but he seems like a stud Bengals - just an average team? Hurts - I didn’t see that coming AFC West - were the Chiefs dominance really ever in doubt? Broncos and Raiders seem to be non factors What are yours?
