  1. So they played the starting line week 1 but maybe not this week? Must have been happy with Fridays practice performance.
  2. All that said, I don’t think Samuel is a 100% guaranteed thing for this season. Although I think it’s unlikely, a release could be warranted if he is not up to par and Moore/Shavers give enough as WR4. Doubtful though. Knox however, I feel is as close to 100% locked as it comes.
  3. So with more than half over voters thinking Allen will play, I will let McDermott know.
  4. I don’t think you’re reading the numbers accurately. Those 2026 numbers are favorable to be cut, but not this season. Knox is essentially at 21 million dollar bath to cut at this point. No way we are just cutting ties with him for that number. He is still a good player and will play substantial snaps. There is no cap savings this year from his release. Next season is a different story, with 7mil guaranteed and dead, you’d likely save 10 mil with his release in 26. Curtis Samuel is pretty much the same. No cap relief this year from cutting him still owing his full salary (9mil) this year and on the hook for 3 mil guaranteed next year Thats 12 mil dead on a release this year. Next season saves 6.5 in cutting him in 26. I am with you that they are not worth the numbers but there is literally zero benefit to there release unless there is a clearly better option to roster at this point. Next year they will likely be gone, to the tune of taking 16.5 mil off the current cap number, while still wasting 10 mill im dead money.
  5. Remember the days of 11 straight Allen passes? Maybe this year we will see 11 straight Allen handoffs.
  6. What is it with this guy?! At 16 seconds in he even appears to slow down. Unbelievable!
  7. He is still listed as limited, which would imply he is not healthy. For someone who has constantly been a victim of lingering issues, I wouldn’t say he is running 100%. Pair that with McDermotts latest comments on him before the joint practice, it wouldn’t surprise me if he “re-aggravated” it.
  8. He could also be IRed designated to return, depending on if he keeps progressing. Burn the first 4 games of the year and see how things shake out. At that point they can just not activate him or bring him back if need be. This is where I am at unless he gets some reps in live game action
  9. Tylan Grable still in the concussion protocol
  10. McDermott said that the performances today may impact how much players may play on Sunday, on a case by case basis, where others will need reps no matter what. “Bass moving in the right direction. Taking it one step at a time. Trying to be smart. Avoid setback.” ”Curtis Samuel is important, missed all of camp. Urgency is there at this point. Availability important, references special teams if you aren’t a starter.” On Sanders and Walker: “See the ability, have to develop techniques and become consistent.” Interesting McDermott calls Palmer “Joshua” and Allen “Josh”
  11. 100% this plus they know what he is so if he does not they can always bring him back to the PS
  12. Are you sure those numbers are correct? https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/21807/larry-ogunjobi His guarentees were broken into the signing bonus, spread over 4 years which gets you to 3.4 mill and a 2 million salary guarantee (which was voided because of suspension). It would have added to 5.4 guaranteed if not for the suspension. So the Bills are looking at guarenteeing 3.4 mil if he never takes a snap. I am not suggesting releasing him now but if the 5 DTs you carry on the initial 53 (none of the guys you listed, Oliver Jones Sanders Walker Carter) you could choose to release him week 8 following the suspension given they are happy with the room and healthy. This would be 3.4 mil out the window, carrying the bag for 2.5 in dead money next year, which they are going to have to eat no matter what. I see it as a bit of insurance at this point. Beane could have bailed. But at that point he did not know they’d be taking 2 DTs in day 2 of the draft or how they’ll pan out early on. Though it’s an unlikely scenario, it’s happened before. Beane has shown that he’ll eat guaranteed money even on a one year guy (OJ Howard) if it’s best for the roster both immediately and long term. You make a good point about the IOL. I think they’ll need someone with some flexibility to play inside. It’s tough to know if they see VDM Grable or Lundt as that versatile but going in with truly only 3 guard options would leave them light in depth.
  13. Yes agreed but it isn’t out of the question he could be released. His contract is largely signing bonus prorated over the next few years (3.5 mill total). It’s a tiny fraction of the cap. With his salary being no longer part of the guaranteed chunk of money due to suspension, he could be sent packing if the rest of the lot show up big. I think this is unlinkely still, but I wouldn’t say he is a lock to be brought back to the 53
  14. Best part when Ryan VDM chewing out Buffalo Joe over a late hit. That’s the kind of stuff I was hoping for. Otherwise, not much in-depth content. Just surface level filler
  15. It certainly isn’t a strong endorsement, but there are some major differences. One a first round pick with a clear path to start, the other a day 3 selection learning multiple roles.
  16. By many accounts, Caleb Williams is still well behind where he was expected to be as an NFL QB r through camp year 2. After sitting out of week 1 exhibition, it’ll be interesting to see what he looks like vs the bills 1s in Primetime next Sunday.
  17. Meh Beane prepared for this imo Benford, White, Jackson, Ingram, Strong are all boundary guys. You aren’t bringing a guy in to play CB2 at this point, so any of vet would likely just be a PS addition after cut downs imo
  18. It’d be pretty sweet if they kept a team friendly extension under wraps and it debuted on Hard Knocks and everyone found out at once. Not practical but it’d be great TV
  19. Bills @ Bears on Sunday, August 17th @ 8:00pm on FOX The Bills will travel Thursday to Chicago for a joint practice Friday. I imagine it will be a light week leading up to this scrimmage and the game. Will any of the injured guys return? Will Allen make an appearance? Go Bills!
  20. Bought a new Nissan Pathfinder (my wife drives it) back in 2023. Probably the last time I’ll buy a new car, at least in the foreseeable future. The value just isn’t great. I still drive my 2010 Corolla with 150k miles on it I bought for 18k back in 2012 with 20k miles on it at the time. We went with the new 3rd row SUV because of the kids, so hoping for a solid 10 years out of it because moving on. Went through a friend who works at the dealship. They haggled a bit. My in laws are car ppl (former sales now retired) so they gave everything a once over and said it was fine. I don’t know enough about it, nor do I want to. I am the kind of car owner that only cares if it functions, efficient and cost effective. You can keep all the other bells and whistles
  21. Very nice, thanks for sharing. How do you foresee them bringing back two DL, totaling 12 with the initial 10 on the 53? There are not very waivable players such in years past. I imagine they are banking on a potential injury, or will be trying to move someone at the position either before Week 1 or when they are eligible to return from sus.
  22. Gotta love the national attention this guy is getting. Well deserved!
  23. I am not so sure it’s as black and white as Moore vs Shavers. You mentioned that Ulo and Forrest could be the cuts when the suspended guys return, but that would leave us with 12 DL. I have been trying to see a path towards bringing them back and finding a way to stay at 10 DL. A lot of those guys don’t play special teams. So it makes me think: could they roster 6WRs knowing that they may eventually IR Samuel per se bringing them to their usual 5. Forrest would not need to clear waivers, so I could see him back to the PS.
