  1. Where have we gotten worse than last year? Other than the Oline losing levitre, every position is the same or better. I'll take Kolb (or EJ) over Fitz. I'll take these rookie WRs over Jones & Nelson. I'll take Alonso and Lawson over Barnett and Shep. DBs and DL are about the same (Losing Wilson will not hurt us after drafting two safeties) RB and TE are unchanged assuming Chandler heals. Assuming our new coaches are an improvement (not much of a stretch to expect), we are a much improved team, even considering a large number of rookies/new scheme growing pains. I expect at least 7-8 wins, with 9 likely and 10 possible.
  2. I like Shiancoe. Would be good for a 1-2 yr contract as a safety if Chandler comes back slowly or has lost a step.
  3. Starting to think we are playing more of a 3-3-5 than a traditional 3-4. I am a bit worried about our run defense.
  4. Maybe they have the deal worked out with Dansby and are just waiting for bashing out details/final signature before announcing spa Kolb. Dansby might like that we got rid of Shep, in terms of guaranteed playing time.
  5. It's either Dansby, Urlacher or... Who? We need at least one other player for this position and hopefully its a vet. Not personally an Urlacher fan, but is is an option at this point.
  6. Is this essentially a done deal considering we just traded Shep? I would hope we have something planned for ILB. As mediocre/bad as Shep was, he provided depth that is sorely lacking if we dont make a signing to replace him.
  7. Is Matt Summers-Gavin still available? Very solid OG option for competition.
  8. The entirety of ND was exposed. How can Te'o be expected to do anything when he is getting absolutely zero help from the dline or other lbs? Competition gets harder in the NFL, but he will actually have competent teammates as well. I would have hated him anywhere in RD 1, but I'd be happy with him as our 2nd rd 2 pick, or in rd 3.
  9. "Why the @&$? do they think we will take Austin!? He is Parrish 2.0."
  10. That is a good point, but no. They won't change their tune; it would give them one less thing to go on about before/after the draft.
  11. The jets are the only team drafting after us in RD 1 that is likely to pick a QB (except maybe Houston). If at least two top rated QBs are available at 8, at least one will be left later in the first if we trade down.
  12. The closest thing is the Notre Dame TE Eifert. No team had a personal workout with him because he was such a sure thing. That is saying something. Also, who my idea pick would be.
  13. that's too bad. they have a great phone app that I've been using for two years. great fantasy football information, and often news from around the league. hopefully they turn around and keep going.
  14. Great question. I want a QB obviously, but I am going with a 'wait and see'/trust the coaches here. If they don't take anyone, I trust them, but they better hope Kolb/Jackson pan out. I definitely think next year is a better year for quarterbacks, though.
  15. Agreed. I don't see it happening by any means, but who can say for sure? It would be a pleasant surprise, though.
  16. I would be pleased with this. Great receiving option.
  17. This would be ideal for me. Eifert, a top WR like Woods, a CB and our mystery QB, all in first 2 rounds.
  18. Just saw a quote from Mario on Twitter saying he has never played so many positions before. Sounds like we are gonna be doing some interesting things... MW at corner??? One thing is for sure: this sure isn't Wanny's Defense.
  19. Mulkey is back? Good basketball player from UB. I think he got a tryout last year too. Good luck to him.
  20. I didn't hear of this either. Hoping someone has some insight.
