  1. How do we know the additions of Fowler and Reyes will make any difference? How do we know the additions of new TE's will make any difference? How do we know the additions of new DT's will make any difference? How do we know the additions of new coaches will make any difference? They may or may not. Until something positive and tangible proves the Bills are better than 5-11, then it's best to wait before jumping to conclusions. The team will look different than last year, but the record may not be different. Time will tell. It looks to me like there are way too many hurdles to jump this year. A team with so many question marks ....

  3. There have been streaks of 5 or 6 games in a row where Posey's name was never mentioned. That's a bad sign dude. You don't get national attention if no one even notices if you're in the game. He's way below average and has been carried by Spikes and Fletcher over the last couple years. With Spikes out, he still wasn't seen or heard from last year. He should have been cut by now.
  4. As you know, correlation does not imply causality. Therefore, the fact that a certain factor is highly correlated to winning does not mean that the factor in question is the one that caused the victory. For instance, a team with a great rush defense statistically might also have a great offense. Since their offense is great, they score often and build up leads against their opponents. The opponents are therefore forced to abandon the run game and throw more often in an effort to catch up on the scoreboard. The end result is that the high scoring team wins many games, but it is not because they have a great rush defense. (in this case, nobody has the luxury to run against them because they are behind in the score) A conclusion that says "stopping the run is the most important aspect" in this case would have a high statistical correlation and yet be completely false!!!!! Your statistical analysis may be interesting to some people, but it is simply wrong to reach your conclusions based on linear regression. By wrong I mean invalid and inaccurate. Stopping the run is certainly important, but you can't conclude that using the technique you used. Sorry, but true.
  5. I've heard CSI is working on the case around the clock. They will have all the hard evidence documented and published shortly (including all relevant message boards - the source of all truth) Standby for breaking news.
  6. Exactly right. There are a lot of clueless morons who believe everything at face value. There is no way Spikes is going to rip JP publicly even if he can't stand him or has no respect for him. JP has not earned the respect of the locker room. There is no internet link - sorry clueless ones! I've heard this from people within the organization. If you don't like this info, don't read it and don't respond. Some people might appreciate it and it's not for the message board bullies to decide whose info is worthy.
  7. Well that settles it. According to Mike Holbrook of Pro Football Weekly, it wasn't. Holbrook reported that, contrary to Clayton's reports, the Bills were trying to make a trade that would have allowed them to draft Whitner and acquire additional picks, but that they received word that there were other teams interested in Whitner that might take him before they could if they traded down." Mike Holbrook's opinion is gospel truth and all the others are completely wrong. I guess nobody considered that other teams might float some misinformation to confuse other teams regarding their own draft intentions. No way the Bills "braintrust" with Ralph Wilson at the helm would ever be misled or confused.
  8. No - it's much worse. Use your own words plagiarist!
  9. Nobody said Donte couldn't play. The odds were very high the Bills could have drafted Whitner at #15 and picked up an additional 2nd and 4th rounder from the Broncos. This was a calculated risk that Marv passed up. I guess a 5-11 team need not take any chances to improve? They give away Moulds for a 5th rounder, but pass up two additional high picks rather than drop down 7 spots. These kind of decisions do not bode well for the Bills future. Bad strategy. Yes, Donte could be a Hall of Famer, but the point remains that they could have still got him and improved their draft class. Teams are built through the draft. The Bills blew a golden opportunity and I didn't even mention the mishandling of the McCargo pick.
  10. How about moving Posey where he belongs - to the unemployment line. Or better yet, send him back to the Texans.
  11. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=grad...v=tsn&type=lgns B+ for the Bills
  12. I have already heard Sheik Youboty. I thought of one for McCargo. "McCargo faster than yours"
  13. Remember how the Bills heard the Steelers were interested in Ryan Denney so the Bills stole him one pick before Pittsburgh in the 2nd round? How's that working?
  14. Philly coach Reid believes the games are won in the trenches with big powerful men. Other teams feel the key to success is undersized lineman and numerous safeties. What is Reid thinking??
  15. Ditto. Patchwork line at best. A bunch of castoffs and journeymen mostly.
  16. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/writ...s.losers/1.html Apparently Clayton, Banks, King, Kiper, etc. all agree that the Bills "overpaid" for lower rated talent. I think losing the 2nd and 3rd round picks plus the loss of additional picks that were offered to trade down were HUGE tactical and strategic mistakes. The players drafted might be good, but that is not the point. A fact that is lost apparently on The Stadium Wall. The point is the Bills potentially could have had those same players and 4 more picks!!!! Bad strategy, BIG mistake.
  17. Absolutely right! I am not saying the players drafted are not good, but the Bills could probably have drafted the same players and received two extra draft picks in addition to keeping their own 2nd and 3rd round pick to boot if they played their cards right. A serious missed opportunity. An organization with a keen acumen and draft strategy would have pounced on the opportunity. The boys at OBD really blew it!
  18. Some people think we had 3 2nd or 3rd round picks.
  19. The same old story with free agency and the draft. The Bills overpaid. This is a good formula for missing the playoffs for another six years.
  20. Reminds me how the Bills "stole" Ryan Denney one pick before Pittsburgh. How did that work out?
  21. The game is won in the trenches. When was the last time you heard the game was won at free safety?
  22. GRADE F Freaking clueless! He's a top 50 pick not a top 8 pick!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. At leat they didn't pick Leinart! Fire Marv now! Fire Modrak now. Maybe the senile front office led by Ralph will draft a punter in round 2.
  24. I think Tagliabue was dead right when he said the team's long-term prosperity "turns more on who the quarterback is and who the running back is than on the specifics" of the contract with the National Football League Players Association. Basically he was telling Ralphie that if the Bills do a good job within their organization by fielding a good team, the money the league and the team generates will take care of itself. Reading between the lines, the message to Ralphie was: quit screwing up your team with really bad decisions on GM's, coaches and players and the league will allow you to compete on a level playing field. Tags was right on.
