The special teams needs to just be mid. Instead, they give up or create way too many negative plays. Over the last few weeks alone, blocked punt for a TD, missed chip shot FG, near disaster onsides kick against the Lions, gave up long return yesterday, gave up a fake punt, had another onsides kick bobble yesterday. i know some of this is on the players, but a lot it is on Smiley. Special teams is mostly about fundamentals and discipline. That’s on smiley.

The concern I have with this D is it seems to lack an identity anymore. That may be due to just having a lack of any playmakers. But it seems like they are now throwing the kitchen sink in there and just desperately trying a bunch of random things.

I am torn on this KC/Pitt game. If KC loses, then they play Denver in week 18 in a huge game. If Denver loses that one, there is a good chance we are the 2, the broncos are out, and we play the bengals As the 7.

On the Spector one, he actually did turn back to try to go for the ball. I would say that was probably the closest to PI, but we see stuff like that go all the time. the first Elam one, both guys had hands on each other, when Elam let go, the receiver flopped. Again, to me that is not called. on the second Elam one, if the receiver wants that call, he had to go back into the DB to generate the contact. Both Elam and the receiver were standing straight up with their arms up. I think the only one I remember now that actually was legit was on on Cam early in the game near the end zone on that little slant route.
