Coach Dick Jauron would only say Tuesday morning that Owens was excused from practice, but declined to say why. Jauron said he would update reporters after the Bills' night practice. Owens complained about an aching toe in a comment posted on his Twitter.com site shortly after the Bills lost to Tennessee, 21-18, in the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio, on Sunday.
