  1. i agree, but Gumbel seems off his game tonight
  2. gumbel sounds... confused? tons of empty seats too = is there a blizzard warning in the area? i mean, these are the reigning Super Bowl Champs, right?
  3. Whitner is questionable for Sunday with a pulled hamstring, per WGR550.
  4. excellent. thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention.
  5. on the bright side, there was no Jay-Z, or Christian Slater, or talk about one of the announcer's fantasy teams, and the game actually started right around 8:00.
  6. i like the Jets over GB and NO-7 over SF, for what it's worth [which isn't much]
  7. the ball is easier to grip when it's wet. that would explain the 4 fumbles last night.
  8. i'm assuming the deadline will be extended, due to the holiday. so there is still hope.
  9. The Buffalo News: "The Bills announced 7,500 tickets remained on sale for the game against Jacksonville on Sunday. The Bills will have until 1 p.m. Thursday for the television blackout to be lifted, although they could receive an extension because of Thanksgiving. About 7,000 tickets remain for the Dec. 17 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. The Bills have sold out every game against Miami since 1987, which was a strike year. Tickets for all games can be purchased at the Bills ticket office, all Ticketmaster outlets, on-line at www.buffalobills.com or www.ticketmaster.com or by telephone at 877-BBTICKS."
  10. I heard there were 7500 tickets unsold as of Monday morning. Has anyone heard an update?
  11. that was the point where i turned it off. the ironic thing is that the Westwood One radio coverage with Marv Albert and Boomer Esiason is pretty good. if i could get the two to synch up, i'd be happy.
  12. After the game yesterday, i was thinking that if Lindell had made that kick against the Colts, and somehow we had prevented them from scoring in the last 6 minutes, we'd be 5-5, on a three game win streak, and thinking playoffs. I know, if, if, if, if, etc.
  13. no love for Bat Boy? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bat_Boy
  14. wish we had a tight end who could actually catch a pass.

  16. Dangerous to my sanity...... Dangerous to my liver...... [or is that somehow redundant?]
  17. that had to be Clements' best game of the year to date. I criticized him earlier here, but today he looked great, imho.
  18. on the bright side, it's not Randy Cross.
  19. the line is as high as 11.5, per yahoo http://sports.yahoo.com/top/odds
  20. http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/sfl-sph...olumn?track=rss more questioning of MM
  21. "A third consecutive lackluster outing essentially ended with a questionable play call from offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey on a two-point conversion that would have tied the game with 1:39 remaining. Running back Ronnie Brown ran right on a sweep before pirouetting and looping back to fire a pass toward wide receiver Marty Booker. Brown, who completed his only NFL pass during an August exhibition game against Carolina, had his throw tipped by rookie defensive end Mario Williams." boy, i don't miss that.
  22. Again, you are talking about concepts, I'm talking about what I've observed. It appears we will continue to disagree, so there's no point in taking up more bandwith. Or disintegrating into personal insults.
  23. Yes, the concept of any player slacking off in the year before free agency is moronic. But I'm not talking about any player in general. I'm talking specifically about what I have seen from Clements this year -- he seems [to me] tentative, unwilling to sacrifice his body to make a tackle, and possibly afraid of an injury which could endanger that big next contract. Is that possibility moronic?
  24. that sums up my feeling about this team also.
  25. He was on one of the local radio pregame shows too, and sounded great. Joe said he feels healthy and strong, and was grateful for all the cards, letters, emails, etc.
