  4. logical question -- if they are not all bad, why should it have happened last year?
  5. did Beurlein say Russ "Branson"? and the play by play guy or producer doesn't correct him? more proof of how irrelevant we've become.
  6. "Player number 20 has just gone on injured reserve for the Bills. " S Todd Johnson was placed on I-R with a hamstring injury that has kept him out of the last two games. Replacing him on the roster is LB Ryan Manalac. Manalac was called up from the practice squad where he has spent the last couple of weeks. Manalac was originally signed midway through training camp in the summer, but did not make the final roster. "
  7. Buddy Nix - "Bills are not that far away" League parity, etc. - most games are won or lost on 2 or 3 plays

  10. from ESPN "Urban Meyer is stepping down as coach of the Florida football team, athletics director Jeremy Foley announced Saturday afternoon in a release. "I have given my heart and soul to coaching college football and mentoring young men for the last 24-plus years and I have dedicated most of my waking moments the last five years to the Gator football program," Meyer said in statement. "I have ignored my health for years, but recent developments have forced me to re-evaluate my priorities of faith and family. "After consulting with my family, Dr. Machen, Jeremy Foley and my doctors, I believe it is in my best interest to step aside and focus on my health and family. "I'm proud to be a part of the Gainesville community and the Gator Nation and I plan to remain in Gainesville and involved with the University of Florida. "I'm very appreciative for the opportunity I've had to be a part of a tremendous institution - from Dr. Machen to Jeremy Foley and the entire administrative staff at UF. I'm also very thankful for the chance to work with some of the best assistants in college football and coach some of the best college football players and watch them grow both on and off the field as people. I will cherish the relationships with them the most." Meyer will coach his last game for Florida against Cincinnati on Jan. 1 at the Sugar Bowl. "

  12. http://www.buffalonews.com/258/story/90424...order=T#comment "Channel 4 General Manager Chris Musial said Wednesday the status of Channel 4 meteorologist Mike Cejka is an "internal matter." Musial wouldn't comment on whether Cejka would be disciplined after a recent unusual incident in Niagara County in which a sheriff's deputy handcuffed and drew his weapon on the weathercaster after a brief car chase. Cejka then was ticketed for failing to observe a stop sign, Sheriff James R. Voutour said. According to a source, Cejka was at work Wednesday and today but was not on the air. Another source said Cejka was scheduled to go on vacation starting Friday and continuing until Jan. 4. It is unclear if he will immediately return to the his on-air role after that, the source added."

  14. wasn't Nevada a big favorite last night? boy, i hope the bowl games get a little more competitive going forward: BYU won by 24, Utah by 10, and SMU by 35 so far.
  15. In terms of the time of the 'incident,' I thought he could have been on his way to the studio for the AM news, but isn't Lockport far out of the way from Clarence to the WIVB studio on Elmwood?
  16. http://www.buffalonews.com/437/story/901909.html "A Niagara County sheriff’s deputy handcuffed and drew his weapon on Channel 4 weather forecaster Mike Cejka last week after an unusual incident in the Town of Lockport, the deputy reported. The incident involved a brief car chase, during which Cejka drove his Jeep Grand Cherokee past a stop sign without stopping, sheriff’s officials said Monday. Cejka, 50, of Clarence, was ticketed for failing to observe a stop sign, Sheriff James R. Voutour said. The incident involved a homeowner on Old Beattie Road who called police at about 4 a.m. Dec. 14 to report that a man was trying to take a protective tarp off his motorcycle, which was parked in the driveway. According to a report filed by Deputy Jonathan Andres, a Jeep driven by Cejka fled the scene in a “hasty” manner when the deputy drove up to respond to a 911 call. After a short chase, Cejka pulled his vehicle over on Rapids Road. The deputy drew his weapon and ordered Cejka out of the vehicle, according to a sheriff’s report. Cejka identified himself to police as “Mike Cejka from channel 4 News” as he was being handcuffed, according to the report. Cejka said he had seen the motorcycle before and wanted to “take a closer look at it.” He could not be reached Monday to comment. The Lockport homeowner could pursue a trespassing charge in Lockport Town Court, the sheriff said. A violation is a non-criminal charge that carries a maximum penalty of 15 days in jail. "

  20. http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2...rroll/index.php 'On Saturday, the former Notre Dame head coach sat down with five reporters for his first interview since being fired on Nov. 30. Tim Prister of IrishIllustrated.com was one of the writers on hand and reported more than others, including what appears to clearly be a vicious personal attack aimed at USC head coach Pete Carroll, whom Weis went winless against in five meetings. Toward the end of meandering discussion about how Weis is perceived and who he feels he really is, a follow-up question brought up Carroll's name. Weis seemingly cut off the question and had a few of his own when he said: "Let me ask you this question: You guys know about things that go on in different places. Was I living with a grad student in Malibu, or was I living with my wife in my house? You could bet that if I were living with a grad student here in South Bend, it would be national news. He's doing it in Malibu and it's not national news. What's the difference? I don't understand. Why is it okay for one guy to do things like that, but for me, I'm scrutinized when I swear. I'm sorry for swearing; absolve my sins."'
