Bills and Steelers to get #2 CBS announcing team
buffaloaggie replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A lot of singers are smokers. Some announcers rely on too much shtick. Johnson is definitely over the top on sayings. Cool at first, then the guy just wears you out. From the past, it's tough to match Summerall and Madden. Enberg was good, but too many "oh my"s. Currently, I'd take Nantz over Buck any day. Al Michaels is slipping, but used to be tops, again with Madden. Having to listen to Collinsworth hurts him. Nantz having Romo makes the best pair by far. Aikman is boring. Strictly considering the voice, no one can touch Harlan. Yup, Jones was another classic. -
Pats trade Sony Michel to Rams
buffaloaggie replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've always hated the way Belichick uses his RBs. Being a 1000 yard rusher is not a big deal in 16 (now 17) games. You have to average 63 yards per game to hit 1000, and New England has had one in the past 10 years. I think Michel will finally get a chance to shine in LA. He's an upgrade from Darrell Henderson IMO. -
Bills and Steelers to get #2 CBS announcing team

I've always enjoyed Greg Gumbel's announcing, though he is past his prime. His call on Mario Elie's kiss of death against Phoenix in the 90s was legendary If Gumbel's voice grates on you, how do you feel about Mike Tirico's voice? Elie Kiss of Death -
Who are the four? Miami, FSU, UF, then you have USF and UCF. Or did you mean four teams other than UF? Florida is very transient, so I agree their base there would be bandwagon fans. Does Jacksonville have many businesses/corporations headquartered there?

When it comes down to it, the Bills are not the Sabres. They're not rebuilding, they are a contender. No need to talk trade for a mid to late round pick. Bills have the pieces in place and will run with them this year.

NFL Network used the Chicago feed. You could tell they held him in high regards. Trubisky's burden that he'll always carry is that he was drafted before Mahomes. That's why he's out of Chicago. He couldn't match Mahomes, couldn't match expectations that since he was drafted before Mahomes, he should be better than Mahomes. If fans choose to use that expectation, 31 out of 32 NFL starters are abject failures because they can't match the accomplishments of a 6th round pick. Trubisky has the ability to be a starter. He just needs to get his head in the right place, and felt signing with Buffalo and working with Daboll offered him that opportunity. We know many QBs have physical tools to be good. It's developing the mental part of the game that allows some to raise their game. IMO, there is no way the Bills trade Trubisky and disrupt the chemistry that they've developed for this year.

Half true. I haven't seen the less money thing either, but Daboll was a factor: Trubisky: Coach Daboll definitely made it very attractive to come here in the conversations I was having with him, how he plays to his quarterback's strengths, no matter if it's Josh in there or somebody else. He says he's going to call the game to the quarterback's strengths and allow his playmakers to get open and make plays. From being able to observe from afar and see the kinds of things that they were doing in this offense and how they were putting up prolific numbers, they've got great playmakers across the board and have a great offensive line. It was just something that was attractive to me and something I wanted to be a part of. ... It just seemed like a great offense to be a part of and learn from. It's been awesome picking that up schematically since I got here.

Traveling to game/Airport Question
buffaloaggie replied to TFBillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I used to live in ATL and took the late Delta Sunday flight all the time. Never had a problem making the flight. I always parked in the neighborhood across from Kettles on Abbott. You can drive through the neighborhood to Niles Ave, turn right on Milestrip, then hit 219. Had time to check my bag and relax at the gate. Again, never a problem, and never had to leave the game early. The flight usually had parents of players, and even had Thurman Thomas on it one time. -
You can also use it on the college streaming package, which is what I did last year
-
IF you have the Chase Bank Freedom or Sapphire credit card, you can add an offer to your card to get $10 back from Chase for the Sunday Ticket if you pay with one of those two cards

Josh Allen: Contract extended through 2028

Bills post has it through 2028 -
Trevor Lawrence - Sophomore year State Champion, Junior year State Champion Trevor Lawrence (Sr)15-28 142 yds 1TD 0 INT in that game. His Senior season, he threw 41 TDs and 1 INT. It wasn't mistakes on Lawrence's part that lost the game. His O-line let him down, and his WRs dropped 5 or 6 passes, 3 of them could have easily TDs. Yes, I lived in Georgia then and remember it well. Still, no picks that day. Point is, Ewers needs to learn, and now he's apparently more worried about making money of off his NIL than he is about further developing his skills by skipping his HS Senior season. His attitude is leaning more towards Tate Martell rather than Justin Fields. Hope he gets his priorities straightened out.

Without OU and Texas, you don't think the SEC could place multiple teams in? It is about TV revenue, and exposure. Oklahoma is untapped for the SEC. The State of Texas has A&M, but Texas has a major following. Yes, my last statement about LHN should go the way of the dinosaur does mean they should scrap LHN. Guess that wasn't clear. Money allocated to LHN will be added to the 2024 SEC-ESPN contract. The money will be split 16 ways now. You know, as well as me, that the SEC is always about equal distribution of revenue. I'm sure ESPN has been lobbying for the move of the two schools to the SEC, if, for nothing else, to get rid of the ratings disaster called LHN.
-
That's what the bylaw says. Majority must be a relative term to Kirk Bohls. Yes, I'm sure he restated in a later tweet. Mizzou and A&M are hard no's. Texas will blow it due to the Longhorn Network, which is the reason A&M, Mizzou, Colorado and Nebraska all left the Big 12. SEC is all about treating each institution equally when it comes to revenue sharing. Only way this goes through is if ESPN takes the money they're paying Texas for LHN, and adds it to the 2024 broadcast rights contract signed between ESPN and the SEC. If the SEC doesn't get a significant bump in TV revenue, it makes no sense to split revenue 16 ways instead of 14 ways, with little revenue increase. LHN should go the way of the dinosaur.

Think the unnamed SEC Source is wrong. It takes a 75% approval from the members in order to extend an invitation. *3.1.2 Granting of Membership. Membership may be granted by invitation of the Conference at a meeting of the Chief Executive Officers. A vote of at least three-fourths of the members is required to extend an invitation for membership. [Revised: 5/30/91] [Clarified/Conformed 6/1/11]

Is it time to trade off Singletary?

I still want to see Antonio Williams get more work. He reminds me of Fred Jackson's early situation where he bounced from Practice Squad to active roster. Give him more than a 1 game tryout. -

Really have to give her a lot of credit for playing. She must really love golf. Must be a lot of fun to play and watch.
