McDermott hasn't coached a regular season game yet...it was the only message he could send. Hopefully, it does the trick before taking away real money and hurting the team in a regular season game. If it was a regular season game it would have likely been holding him out for a series or two or perhaps a quarter. Now coach has set the precedent that if you're late its a game...

Suspended for a meaningless game. It sends a message that rules will be enforced. There are very few rules for these men, but one of them is to be on time. Marcel is a child in many ways - unable to be on time; influenced easily into making a bad decision. Marlon Kerner needs to be his best friend from here forward. Going to his house and picking him up if necessary, staying around him a lot. It sounds like Lorax and Kyle are willing to help. Marcel needs a babysitter--almost like Josh Hamilton when he first came back to baseball. The Bills have invested $16 million a year in this guy -- invest more to make sure he has the support he needs. There is no way he is cut this year or next so structure an environment where he can succeed. Saban likely had to do the same thing at Alabama for him.

And my opinion is Sammy is great player who has proven time and again he is fragile. There is always something wrong with him, Again, the biggest mistake from Beane and McD was not exercising the option if this trade was being contemplated--but noone was going to pony up a #1 for Sammy given his case history even with the second year. The Bills could have gotten a better player than EJ Gaines (yuck) but we got what will likely be another top 10 second rounder to go with the one they will "win" on the field this fall. There are 4 top 40 picks in this teams future. That gets you the number one draft pick with maybe a top 40 pick to spare if you want it without mortgaging the future. Sammy was talented but even you, Alpha and others have to admit just a little that you were worried about when the next injury was going to occur. If you don't your arguments are as unrealistic as you claim those that support the trades are...

Today, the Bills gained the ammunition to obtain a franchise QB for the 2018 season. Either an established vet like Kirk Cousins or one of the 18 draft class best QBs will be on this team at this time next year. They gained the capability to obtain this QB with next year's draft assets only...not mortgaging future draft classes. The Watkins trade was a dumb trade for a WR. Idiotic when it happened and idotic today. The new regime's mistake was to not do this after committing to the option year for Sammy but that is a minor mistake compared to the idiocy of trading away a future #1 for a WR in 2014. This year was not a playoff year -- no way, no how...next year won't be either with the first year of likely a rookie QB, but I can't hate the course the Bills set today. Its what rebuilding teams should do...

Our house rule was noone goes to a game (preseason or regular season) at the Rich, the Ralph, New Era until they are 6 or older and I look back on that now thinking it was too early to take them. My kids have been puked on, urinated on, beered on, hit by a golf cart (unhurt thankfully) over the years at games. They wear these "occurrences" as badges of honor of their Bills fandom. The first couple years they were totally under foot and being held by the hand...at 10 they gained a bit of independence. Its just not a great environment for toddlers...

One of those players I have wanted on the Bills for a long time...talent, hard work, accountable, reliable, all in one...fills so many roles. Dennison will put him in positions where a LB or SS is covering him. I think a telling stat will be catches for first downs.

Just from your posts here...you are a good man and a great father. Don't be uptight or nervous. First dates are actually great because there's so much to talk about...her life, your life..family..interests...what you do for fun.....if you ending up laughing and smiling a lot its usually a good sign. BTW, get football out of the way early. If she happens to be a Pats fan...politely say-- "ma'am I am so sorry but I think my house is on fire..I will call you in a few weeks"
