Turnstile Signings & Releases: Why Bother?
JoeF replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's part of building a football culture and the process. I can copy and paste that answer to any Bills football question. Plus it shows Kim and Terry, Beane and staff are working to earn those compensation packages. -

Why in the !@#$ can't the Bills run a dump off to a back that makes 7 yards so consistently...it looks so !@#$ing easy.... -
Encouraging thought about the future and Josh Allen
JoeF replied to The Bills Blog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I feel like I can now ignore about 99% of the posts on TBD (up from my normal 90%). Excellent summary my good man! -

Still researching Hapless but I believe the Bills inherit the existing contract, which in Phillips' case expires this year. We owe him his contractual game checks for as long as he is with the Bills this year. https://overthecap.com/player/jordan-phillips/3900 Bills owe him the remaining base salary (about $358K) for this year divided by 12 game checks...so about $30K per week.

Not bad for 3 1/2 bills....imagine if he had landed on Robbie Anderson....a new definition of a pancake.

No, but I just had some yogurt... By the way, no surprise but Yolo probably beat me to this by milliseconds..

Okay, this is impressive...Jordan Phillips the D-Tackle version of Josh Allen... http://dailydolphin.blog.palmbeachpost.com/2016/11/06/video-miami-dolphins-dt-jordan-phillips-hurdles-a-jet-after-interception/ A side note...it's a Fitzy INT....so that reduces the difficulty factor...

Culture trumps strategy except on the D-line maybe? ?

Bills have claimed Jordan Phillips who was waived by the Dolphins after a sideline temper tantrum on Sunday. https://www.mypalmbeachpost.com/events/sports/football/breaking-miami-dolphins-releasing-jordan-phillips-after-sideline-tantrum/M9rdRHeGMlqZgpLYf8zhdK/

I know it says "No Action Required" but I think I should find a basement shelter somewhere. Anyone else got any ideas?

Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Bills Fans
JoeF replied to SoTier's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He and his mom are the light of my life teef...I am truly the one who is blessed. Sunday will be his third game at New Era. He loves it. He has asked if he has to cheer for the Bills forever...His mom, a die-hard 49ers fan, has said "no" but he continues to persevere. -
Sean McDermott: "Culture Trumps Strategy" ?
JoeF replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think what he was saying is a "football culture" breeds players who can execute a strategy. Without a "football culture" which means work hard, study, earn the right to play, etc. every strategy will fail. That was my take from watching the presser. -
Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Bills Fans
JoeF replied to SoTier's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
SoTier, I empathize with you my Bills brother. It's tough to be so vested in an entity that through its history has not returned the love you have shown. Other folks have alluded to this, but to me, the Bills and Sabres are my representation of Buffalo. No matter where I go in life (we moved when I was 10 and I am now 58), Buffalo will always be my hometown. Buffalo's image of a hardscrabble, work-hard, play-hard town will always be my foundation. The City of Good Neighbors will represent who I am. There are just a few places in the NFL where the team represents the soul of the community -- Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Buffalo, Cleveland -- we should be proud to be on that list. This is such a gift, I couldn't help but pass it on to my kids. When we go back to Buffalo for our yearly trip (as we will this weekend) it's about showing the kids (ranging in age from 5-24--yes 58 with a 5-year-old) what a community with heart, personality, and soul looks like and is about. Even in these last 5 decades of economic pain and slight re-birth, Buffalo has not lost this image. Hundreds of people showed up on early New Year's Morning in zero-degree weather to celebrate a team that made the playoffs--you need no greater evidence than this. I guess I have mentally disconnected my fandom from being a consistent winner. My fandom is about my hometown and cheering for the team that represents that hometown like no other entity. Last thing...I know a lot of folks are down this year and frankly, the Bills suck...but we have so many reasons to be optimistic about the future..huge cap space, a young QB on a rookie deal..a leadership team in which I personally have faith... Remember Polian's first years with the team were 2-14 and 4-12.....in today's world we would have been calling Bill Polian an idiot and calling for Marv's scalp on the Internets... -
Life on the Sidelines: Bills' AGM Joe Schoen
JoeF replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cool that he was visiting UB....last comment from Joe: "Nice throw, he can see everything." OMG let the speculation begin that the Bills will draft Tyree and kick Josh to the curb...
