I did not post originally to distinguish "real" fans. Who in the !@#$ knows what a real fan is, anyway. Everyone has a right to react to this the way they see fit. Me, I am as pissed off as anyone about the lack of commitment of this owner to winning right now. This decision to retain a coach who oversaw some of the worst play calling, clock management and strategy in the history of the game and the amount of money allocated to coaching and the front office both suck. There is no way to defend it. Even with that, I have been there since birth (1960) and I am not going to just walk away. There is no way I will give up on this team as long as it remains in Buffalo. Its about having my team--the Bills will always be my team. I feel an obligation to stick with them through the 2-14's and the Super Bowls. A 1/5 beer and chocolate session sounds great to me. I may start the year with very little hope -- but it is still my team...and I don't even drive a BMW...

Halftime -- first home game. Russ is good at contests. It will be the conclusion of the "Pick the baddest ass bouncer in WNY and watch him/her kick my ass contest." Then in the second half, the bouncer lines up at LG and improves our line play.

Chris Brown's blog post on Jauron's retention: While the retention of Dick Jauron as head coach may not go over well publicly, fans needs to keep in mind that 2009 will likely be the make or break year. Jauron and his coaches likely know they dodged a bullet. They likely also recognize that if the playoffs are not reached in 2009 they won’t be so fortunate the second time around. That sense of urgency hopefully comes from the top from the very first day this team re-assembles in March for the offseason workout program. If that sense of urgency can trickle down to the players perhaps more consistent play will be the result week to week. I also wonder since offensive game management was mentioned specifically in Mr. Wilson’s statement and that they would be addressed, if Jauron won’t enlist a staff member to assist only with game and clock management. It may sound unusual, but why not give it a shot?

I will never, ever give up on this team. Decisions made...I don't agree with it--but I still love this team. Let's move on to the draft. Season tickets--the games stopped being about the team about 5 years ago--its a place to share a few good times, lots of misery and a special bond that relates all of us to one another..cheering for the most frustrating team in the NFL. Here's to 0-20 next year -- I will be there...You can't make me stay away.

He has already had feelers from the Lions, Browns and Jets according to Mort, but won't pursue a job that his son-in-law, Scott Pioli is also considering. Interesting.....
