Will Poz be fined for that facemask on MJD?
JoeF replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope he is...it will add to the legend.... Opposing RB: Hey Poz--too bad about the fine... Poz: I guess $5K is small price to pay for hearing screams of pain as I twisted off MJD's head... Poz's new nickname: Twist-off -
He's like The Dean...pure teflon....Never convicted.

In the ESPN the Magazine pro football kickoff issue, Merrill picked a Seahawks/Jags Super Bowl.....We win -- hand us the Lombardi. Seriously, many of us have been here for a long time...since the dawn of the Internet basically around our last trip to the game. I have seen too many loses come from Games like today. This team is different...there's talent, heart, will and resolve. I think the horrible year last year with the Everett tragedy (now recovery); all the injuries on D...built some resolve that cannot be denied. We need to keep it going. Ralph -- open up the checkbook one last time--keep Evans here, extend Peters and if this season continues to play out (a big Caveat) make sure #5 never leaves....

From Chris Brown on Friday: WINDOW TO BRING CROWELL BACK CLOSED: After seeing the Saints reach an injury settlement with injured DT Hollis Thomas thereby making him a free agent and taking him off their injured reserve list, several Bills fans have asked me via e-mail if the Bills could have done this with Angelo Crowell. The answer is the Bills could have done it up until yesterday, but the five day window to do it closed at that time. However, it’s not as clear cut as it might seem. Yes, it would make Crowell an instant free agent enabling him to sign with any NFL team including the Bills when he was healthy again. The language of the injury settlement however, is the key. A player can return to the team only after the number of weeks specified in the injury settlement plus an additional six weeks. For example, if the settlement Hollis Thomas signed was for 5 weeks he would not be able to return to the Saints until the week 12 game due to the additional six week stipulation. I believe the unpredictable nature of Crowell’s injury and rehab post-surgery likely removed any benefit for the Bills of taking such action, while also exposing him to 31 other teams prior to the free agency period in March.

What about the Pats* having to play a guy who could not start in college at QB don't you like? Granted it was USC. Granted he played behind Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart -- but still its not a great situation. I guess Brady had trouble shedding Drew Henson but he still started a lot of games at MI. Pats* will get JP when they pry him from Russ Brandon's cold, dead hands....This is the NSTA--the No Stupid Trades Association

Devious thinking.....and not sure this works..but Cut him and reach the injury settlement. I think we then gain the remaining base salary back as cap room. Also there is little amortized bonus because its his last year of the existing contract so almost no total cap hit for cutting him. Then use the gained cap room as part of a year 1 salary on an extension that acts signing bonus. Move a 7 or 8 Million Signing bonus all into year 1 salary by using the gained cap room and some extra money (i think his base is around $3 million but can't find clumpy's page) and you end up with a very cap friendly extension. He is really a decent LB...and young enough to still perform at a high level....i would hate to see this be the end of his Bills career..

The TBD homepage once again proves it is several cuts above the run of the mill NFL fan site. How many NFL sites link to Scientific America... http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=did-hy...everett-to-walk Let's compare this to the probable most sophisticated publication links of our AFC east brethren... New England - Kids Magazine Your Big Backyard -- it represents the only place where people really care about an 18-1 Super Bowl losing team Miami- Police Life-players and fans want to see life from the law enforcement rather than the perp point of view Jets-Boys Life in honor of the mental age of their new, its all about me QB... We are a cut above...

I really liked Kennard Cox coming out of Pitt...cool dreads and a great swing corner/safety. Let's sign him...

I'll point to a play last night that spells out the difference for me. The third and 7 or 8 on the 92 yard drive..around mid-field. The Colts sent 7 -- we blocked with 6 and the back (held the tight end in ) cleared with 2 receivers and sent Jenkins from the outside across the slot on a little 5 yard in into the open zone left by the blitzing backer..he catches a nice, easy, calm throw on a 3 step drop by JP and picks up the first with the open room created. The line had to hold for like a 2 count to get the play off...they did their job... Fairchild would have allowed the D to double everyone in the pattern by holding another guy in...its the difference between playing scared and playing smart....hopefully it continues..

Leodis McKelvin vs. Reggie Corner
JoeF replied to Billsfanfourlife's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Quinn Gray would have thrown a ball with normal trajectory and speed instead of football's version of a spiral epheous pitch -- that was an INT. The ball floated--Leodis read the float but misjudged the timing and height. He is making mistakes but last night he showed the short term memory of a corner--he had great coverage on a deep ball to the end zone the next series--used the sideline as his friend and was in better position than the receiver to make a play on the ball. As to the subject at hand in the thread, Corner is the more polished corner at this time..he is playing really well for a rookie. You play the better player -
You mean you disagreed with 3 or 4 receiving options being clustered in the same zone or immediately adjacent zones at relatively the same depth almost always short of first down yardage...or the everyone go deep with no short options...I can't believe you are questioning an obviously superior scheme. It seemed like Fairchild was getting small bonuses from every D coordinator we played... I saw more creativity on one 92 yard drive than the last two years combined..

He had an allergic reaction to his daily dose of rogaine...happens to me all the time

McKelvin -- needs jump timing lessons..wow

CORRECTION: I think it was Paul Peck who was bagging on Hardy. Lord forgive me for accusing the wrong "reporter"..they all sound alike anyway.

I just turned it off....

Rich Gensler just busted on Hardy on the radio pre-game. Kind of questioned his desire and heart. Said "I am not saying he is faking the injury but his reputation in college was not the best work ethic."
