  1. Thanks g-man.....at least we are in the game.
  2. Inspector Gordon was on the Eagleman and his trusty sidekick Hummingbird series....
  3. Can see it now.....NFL players choose to be refugees on Grand Cayman rather than Lions and Raiders.. Seriously -- praying they are alive and will be found soon.
  4. An at market deal on the planet where Al Davis and his oatmeal live...nice job
  5. As good as Roscoe is--McKelvin may be a better PR..plus we still have Terrence McGee for an occasional KO return and Fred Jackson for punts. Roscoe is having trouble in the scheme--he gets open but his underneath and slant routes aren't crisp and therefore he is difficult to rely on in live action where you have to throw before or at the cut... Roscoe's return skills are dynamic--just trade him to the NFC so we only have to face him once every 4 years or in the Super Bowl (yeah right)...I think we can get something of value for him--he is under contract for I think 3 more years...
  6. This could impact Cole's thinking about his value. Interesting. We can afford to give Coles an average of $4.5 to $5M a year over three or four years if we want him. I know everyone will scream that's overpaying -- but if we want him -- Tampa just gave the Bills FO cover to overpay a bit. The key for Coles is he gave up $6M guaranteed with the Jets for 09. He wants a bit more to justify him asking for his release. I would be comfortable with something like... 3 years $13 Million with a $6.5M signing bonus and maybe $1M in year 1, $2M in year two, and $3.5M in year 3 ...it looks cheap compared to Clayton and we will get more productivity.
  7. Nails would have served two purposes---his underwear could be the sail that led them to safety and he would be the life boat as you suggest.... On Gilligan, that was the whole "little buddy" train of thought I guess...
  8. I can't believe you would resort to sophomoric humor at this potentially tragic time......grrrr..... But it does bring up the age old question...Ginger or Mary Ann..... I hope they are found unharmed.
  9. No worries--I think most of us at one time or another have done this.....and suffered the light jabs that go with it.
  10. This was a couple of days ago...but I have one thing to say...Make room for that Lombardi trophy in the case at OBD....Gibran and Dustin give us absolute pillars on the third team on both sides of the ball.
  11. We're all Bills fans...its kind of our foundational traits...insanity and acceptance....
  12. Are you kidding? Compared to some of the things I post..this is down right Pulitzer stuff...nice investigative reporting BGIM..
  13. Its the old Steve Martin line dib...."I help unwed mothers get their start."
  14. It worked for us--didn't it Dean? All those mostly dreadful years in the late 60's, mid-late 70's and early 80's built us into the cynical bastards we are today..... 50th anniversary of mostly pain and suffering with about a decade and a half of hope --- How's that for a theme...
  15. We have done it as a family for the last 3 or 4 seasons. The kids donate part of their chore money to it. They thought of it--I deserve no credit. Can't take it with you...might as well do some good--even during these very difficult times.
  16. I just paid my season ticket invoice.......donating most of the tickets to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County--but seriously should I expose young people and their volunteer mentors to incompetent play???? I guess it will build character....
  17. http://blogs.buffalobills.com/ From Chris Brown and his band of renown Moving Poz outside only an option By Chris Brown - Posted February 22nd, 2009 Just finished talking with Bills defensive coordinator Perry Fewell here at the combine and he was asked about whether he’d be open to moving Paul Posluszny outside if the right MLB talent was available either in free agency or the draft. Here was his response. “That’s a question we’ve asked ourselves,” said Fewell. “I’m very comfortable with Poz being in the middle. If we had to do something where we’d have to move him out (from the middle) I would speak to Paul first about that. I think that’s a great option for us because he gives us some flexibility and you do want to draft the next best player. “I would see Paul (still) running our defense like he did last year if we did make that move, but that’s all speculation right now. Whatever happens on draft day or in free agency will determine whether we can afford to make that move or not.” Now Fewell asserted that moving Poz to OLB is not Plan ‘A’, but acknowledged it is an option if a certain set of circumstances unfolds. “That’s not plan ‘A’, but it’s a possibility,” Fewell said. 18. Warning Fezmid and other readers...this Nortel story made me sick... I talked to a friend this weekend who was a VP at Nortel. On Tuesday of last week, he agrees to a package with HR and his boss, an SVP and part of the company senior leadership team. Its a year's severance (nice if you can get it) and benefits. On Wednesday, they declare chapter 11-- he gets a call at midnight from his boss saying--"You know what you signed 8 hours ago, well you are no longer employed and the severance agreement makes you just like any other creditor once we declare chapter 11. The company is stopping payment on all severance agreements as of Jan. 31." No job. No severance. Nice Company....
  19. As I read the neurologically intact part -- I couldn't help but think of the old joke--the guy has a broken hand and asks the doc, doc will I be able to play the piano when my hand heals, and the doc says sure, the guy says great I could never play the piano before. The hit made Willis neurologically intact....wooo hoooo Glad he is okay...or at least intact...
  20. That was really ugly. Head and knee bent back. As much as I think the he is a punk--I am praying for his health right now.
  21. Pooj--Your posts about the company were always fair. I sense you love where you work but that will carry over to anywhere you go cause its the pride of work inside you. Good luck--reach out for help here for contacts at companies etc. I was just in the local store and talked to a couple of the folks. It's sad..but they were hopeful. Sounds like they have a couple of months. The store was packed...checkout lines were long. Its one of my favorite places -- associates always friendly--helpful--I will miss it. Its been a tough few months--but this week brought it home in Research Triangle Park--Nortel had 10000 employees here at one time--now they are Chapter 11...I have been getting calls from Nortel friends all week. Tough tough time....
  22. You can "stupid to death" a moose from a helicopter? Who knew....
  23. Jerry will continue to pay the Buffalo News to carry his column.... Unfortunately he's right too often about the bumbling Bills the last decade or so....grrrrrrrrrr
  24. Isn't that a fact.....realistically Rice played better than him this year as well...so he's 3rd team.
  25. Sports Night gets my vote. Smart, funny, pretty damn realistic. Even though it lasted 4.5 seasons--which is a lifetime--I still miss The Pretender
