What if Maybin just goes banana's & sacks everything that move

Dan--thanks -- I knew someone would crystallize the posting philosophy at some point. Its like "look -- a puppy-- I must post about it at bb.com and on TSW"..... However, The Skoob man contributes enough that I personally applaud his dedication to the cause. -
Do We Have a Better Team Now than at the End of 2008 ?
JoeF replied to Kenwick's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
3 rookies (Wood, Levitre, Maybin) and 4 vets (Butler, Hangartner, Schobel and McCargo) hold the key to our season. All lineman on each side of the ball. Outside on the OL I think we will be okay. You can't compare Walker to a peak Jason Peters, but Peters was not peak last year. I think we would have been better off last year with Walker at LT than a Peters who's head was in and out of the game. To be honest, I am most worried about Butler. The Bills moved him inside for a reason. He was limited in space--not quick or agile at the NFL level. He will be tested early and often. There is an article today about his transition on bb.com. He says practicing against Kelsay every day will help him (be afraid--be very afraid) Chambers, even though he moved inside to G, still proved his mettle as a swing T last year and Bell has all the core talents to be a good T. Its the Rookie Gs, Butler and Hangartner that will determine how the OL performs--Walker is our only truly proven commodity now on the OL--but there is talent there. On D-Schobel's return to at least an above average pass rusher with quicks is a must. We do not have any finishers on the edge. Denney and Kelsay are effort guys who get sacks if coverage is outstanding. We need a player that the QB has to think about seeing in his face after a 2 count. Schobel is our guy for that-hopefully Maybin or Ellis can provide that as well. I think we are strong at LB, CB and S--but no one in the back 7 is strong enough when the QB can sit back and wait 5+ seconds for someone to get open. Stroud was really, really good last year -- he needs to duplicate it but I think he can. If McCargo can become a consistent in beating blocks on the interior and get into the backfield -- it would translate to more turnovers and stops and more wins. Its the lines--we have the skill players. We have an accurate QB who when given time can lead us. We have a good stable of WR's and RB's. We have a really good defensive secondary and good LB's -- its the lines. Many folks have posted this--but I will pile on and agree. -
Several thoughts: - I understand there is a serious pending worldwide ink shortage - Nice form on the release--bet he got at least an 8 pin first ball - Do nudists get compensated by the number of square inches exposed? This guy's on his way to being Warren Buffett if so...

Hi Tim, I was wondering if you had any information on draft pick signings. With an early training camp date and no draftees currently under contract -- getting a tad bit concerned about hold outs -- particularly when we are expecting the top 5 Bills picks or so to make immediate contributions.

I have felt the need to immediately shower after more than a few Bills games this decade...maybe they were just saving time...

I think its audience specific--Old farts like me-- 45+ males to whom Farrah was our fantasy--gotta be Farrah But Jacko was global and has as loyal a legion of fans as any entertainer--so overall Jacko.. That said--hope he pulls through. -

"Farrah, I want to Kisssssss Youuuu" Damn Namath was a lucky guy that day. Bet he was screwing up his lines on purpose a few times. Take 427 -- Come you dumb ass QB get your lines right.. RIP beauty....

Crayonz you forgot about the "mulligan" draft. At any time in the first round a team on the clock can call "mulligan" and pick a guy that has already been picked. The original picking team gets a series of compensatory picks to make up for the lost draft choice plus they can raid any existing player off the "mulligan" team's roster. It almost happened this year with us. Rumor had it that the Saints wanted Maybin and we were interested in acquiring Saints Punter Thomas Morstead--plus we would have gotten 4 picks -- the Saints #1, and picks at the end of rounds 2, 4 and 7. The Mulligan Rule--know it -- live it

Definitely hoping we can see an improvement in his game this year across the board... Every spring he looks the part of a double digit sack guy who can be stout against the run. Every fall he can't quite get there...dang.... We are paying him lots of money---but obviously he is still frugal (or his wife is) -- looking for bargains at Old Navy instead of heading to one of the high end retailers. ;)
