Dear Vince,
I have admired your approach to the game for several years. What do you do to keep your edge and your sense of fair play?
Signed,
Bernard Madoff
We just couldn't totally part ways with JP...we have to get his twin brother.
So if all these rumors are true---by the draft we will have:
Scheffler
Vick
Cutler
Kendall Simmons
LeCharles Bentley
2 first rounders 2010
A third to replace the third we give up for Scheffler
Plaxico Burress
Derrick Brooks
Freddie Keahio
An extra first rounder for 2010
All for giving up Peters.....I do that trade deep within every day of the week....Can you say Herschel Walker (the football player personality not the Apprentice personality).
Wooooooohoooooo Championship...
This from a guy who couldn't be more of a product endorsement whore. If he could talk he would get more speaking parts like Manning but Brady just has the look and the rings.
If they keep this up, they might just miss out on the Enzyte or Cialas endorsements -- I am sure Tommy needs both...
See ya Duke....He is Green Bay's marquee free agent signing...don't anyone complain about our Free Agent season...

Yeah but not max value--he will be 30+....He is better off getting $20M or so upfront on a 6 year deal now. His agent is dinking him badly if he doesn't get a deal done. The parameters are in place each side give a little. Its $18 Million apart over 6 years. Bills want to pay about $51M, Peters wants about $69M. Meet at $62 and we are done.
There is middle ground here. Go a bit above Jordan Gross with incentives and escalators -- do 6 years $62M with $20M upfront -- back end load a couple of $10M base salary years the last 2 years and average about $5-6M base a year the first 4 years...this is easily doable and fits in the cap.
He is a gifted player--at a hard to find position. Put someone who he can depend on next to him and we have a line and Trent has time to reach all these weapons.
I don't get the sense of urgency to get a deal done here.
Does everyone understand that the uncapped year actually limits player movement in free agency. It gives the "owning" team even more options to keep the player off the market.
Read this article from Pat Kirwin for illumination:

Peters has little negotiating leverage other than his play. He is great--but those of you who claim there is little meet in the middle are listening too much to the agent and not the reality I think.
He is a tremendous player--one we should hold onto--but the uncapped year I think may help in this quest.
The only thing he has to prove to me is if he can come back from injury. I have never had a doubt about 94's effort or wanting to win. The guy made himself into a pro bowler by working his ass off.
Come on...admit it. Even if you think this is a dumb ass move...you have Bills gear on right now and have a bit more of swagger today than yesterday.
I do/am---
I love drama--the Bills are relevant again.
$28M for 4 years per rotoworld
http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpag...=NFL&id=109
Bengals agreed to terms with WR Laveranues Coles, according to NFL Network's Adam Schefter. The deal will pay $28 million over four years.
Collusion between Pioli and Belichik on this -- No way.... ;-)
Seriously -- this trade smacks of -- Thanks Scott for putting up with the bastard that I am all these years. Love Bill
Well damn--if you're making the call--how about:
1) Free Beer Day at the Ralph
2) Add in Peppers, Ray Lewis, etc.
3) Bring back Polian
etc....
Thanks for making the call--don't wake him--I hear he's cranky without sleep.
