  1. Marrone really is tough....dang-- Call the country club Dick and Chan era gone..
  2. JR-does it matter 12 years later that the Mets were more visible than the Yankees during the 10 days after the attacks? Valentine is and always will be a self serving attention whore with an ego the size of New York. He can't take it that sans a horrible a year with the Red Sox he has been irrevlevant everywhere but Japan for a decade. Why bring this up on this day? Why harbor such mis-focused selfish ill feelings about an event that should serve to unite us? Its inappropriate beyond belief.
  3. I agree gmanbfan...I think we can all look with confidence that EJ has already stepped up to a degree--look how deflated the Bills have looked without him. He was upset yeah-- but in the Gailey and Jauron eras would have tried to rationalize the performance with cliches...I loved the fact that in the first minute of the presser he answered Tim Graham's question something like this: Graham basically asked if he could feel a bit better about the performance knowing that it was preseason and that the QB's only had 3 days to prepare. Marrone basically said -- I am one of those people who believe everything is significant and some guys showed they can play and others didn't live up to the standard we have set for being a Buffalo Bill... That's something we never would have heard in the last 7 years -- and maybe the last 13....
  4. I agree he looked physically beat -- but he didn't rely on pat answers we have heard for 13 years -- "I have to look at the tape" "Its hard to win in the NFL" "They took the sails out of our wind" -- he gave basically the same answers in the same delivery he did after a win...He's different than what the Bills have had.. Better? I am not sure yet...but definitely different. For the first time in a long time -- I look at a Bills coach and have confidence he has the skill and the mentality to turn this crap around.
  5. One thing I like is that he doesn't get too high after a win or too low after a loss. His session with the media last night was factual, calm, honest....I think that will serve him well doing what's going to likely be a very long and challenging first part of the season.
  6. Dang--this one hurts....scan the waiver wire.......Can you imagine Leodis on Steve Smith week 2.......yikes
  7. Only if you use different inflection and change around the words each time....shouldn't be hard if there's alcohol involved...
  8. Week 1 and Week 2 are going to be outstanding tests. As much as it makes we want to puke on my keyboard, I have to admit that Brady is this generation's Montana or Unitas and NE has a great coaching staff. Cam Newton will test whether the Bills can play a multi-dimensional QB with talent -- Steve Smith, DeAngelo Williams, James Stewart, Greg Olsen--around him... I think the Bills D accounts itself well--the talent is there...it just hasn't been used correctly. Its aggressive talent and the Bills have been running passive schemes.
  9. Albert Breer ‏@AlbertBreer 1m Per source, the one-year deal that Jairus Byrd signed was the straight tender -- No no-tag provision for 2014 as part of it. This is the best news.......the only thing better would be.....Byrd fires Parker
  10. Luke is carrying the banner on for his Dad. A great young man who while he never lived in Buffalo understands our soul.
  11. Heard Mario is planning to be at the concert -- dancing and swaying -- part of his rehab. Seriously good stuff....... jw--you are right--you can't win and neither can Coach Marrone--situations like this are never good -- he has reasons to hide certain facts (protect the player if he is doing something that the team does not want and not let on the details of the injury for competitive advantage) and you have a responsibility to go after them (Its your job). Coach is a middleman in this situation -- would be best to hear it straight from the player and put it to rest. Hopefully that comes soon. The worst case is Mario has no faith in the Bills medical staff and wanted to seek his own opinion. This could be a symptom of his overall dissatisfaction in Buffalo and feeds his reputation as a player who can be derailed by the smallest of irritations. It leads to thinking that the team will never get good effort from him because of this and they have a woefully underperforming $100 million asset. Media and fans will see this on the field soon enough-- but people who don't think this is a story need to check the crap that ends up being stories these days. This is something to go after and the second challenge (Byrd hold-out) to new leadership at OBD. I only caution not to write the story before the player has a chance to speak...and I know you won't do that. Right now from a training camp perspective Mario looks like Bruce Smith -- if he performs on the field like Bruce --- we have a winner....if he begs out of games like he is out of training camp we have a whiner.....
  12. So how is Mario's !@#$ing goddamn foot anyway....JW, Tim (we know you still lurk)...any updates? I know you asked folks other than Coach Marrone...give us the goods.
  13. You'd need a wide screen tablet.....
  14. I use them in my running shoes--have been for years. I take out the shoe insoles and insert the superfeet and then put the shoe insole on top of them. I swear by them. They take a lot of the impact on 4 times a week 7 mile runs....before them lots of joint and muscle pain--after them -- very little.
  15. I would like to be saying a lot this year....."I didn't know x player was that good" or "I didn't know x player could do that.".. The best thing that can happen is that there is talent that was just not put in a position to make plays. Hope and $5 gets me an overpriced latte...but I still have hope.
  16. I agree to a point but this is increasingly becoming a league where young players get opportunities early in their career (QBs last two years for example--Luck, Griffin, Locker, Tannehill, Wilson, Ponder, Kapernick, Weedon, Dalton--that's over a 1/4 of the league with first or second year starters at the key position)...its a combination of the cap and escalating vet minimums and other factors. So there is more on the field evaluation for these young players than in the past I believe. So the potential vs actual production continuum is swinging a bit toward production in my view. This is a great trend for the Bills by the way-- because a team can turn it around quick if they draft well..
  17. Bills talent is not going to get any accolades until the team wins. The press will continue to be negative. The team hasn't made the playoffs in thirteen years, can't expect that a lot of positive press will be thrown the Bills way. I think the Bills have Gilmore, Dareus, Glenn, Hairston, Bradham, Searcy and this years rookies as really good under 25 building blocks.....Spiller will be 26 in August....
  18. I guess I need to say it in blood... I am sorry.. Shill is a thrill
  19. I will go with 100% agreement. Beerball included.
  20. I am sorry.... Didn't get to apologize publicly before the moderators with strong opinions locked the shill Thread.... By the way -- I think we are fortunate to have Graham, Warrow and Gaughan covering this team.
  21. Damn you got the hidden meaning..... I got the nicest gift today...someone bought me a 10 pack of the new Twinkies and laid it on my desk. I can't decide whether to eat them or put them with my 15 year old box of un-opened Flutie Flakes. Its really nice to be nice to others -- don't you think? Even on the Internets....Jauronimo is a queer

  23. Tommy hates Buffalo's second rate hotels any way....he should be provided a reason for hating.
  24. IT's GOING TO BE A WAR! I'm all in.....
