  1. I know this doesn't meet with the thread...but I just read the Outside the Lines on the Ravens cover up...now I am reading that John Harbaugh wanted to cut Rice immediately and Biscotti, Newsome and Cass objected...How angry, if it all, would you be if the Bills handled an identical situation the same way the Ravens did?
  2. Overall, the most "into-the-game" crowd I have experienced in a decade. Not a lot of goofy stuff in the stands. Loud as hell. On Spiller's return--loudest I have ever heard the stadium including the glory years and the win over the Pats three years ago....
  3. http://mmqb.si.com/2014/09/12/buffalo-bills-purchase-terry-pegula/ Luke does a nice job with this. Dad, Big Russ and Uncle Bill would be proud. Like many of our children who have never lived in Buffalo --Luke's fandom has been passed down like a badge of resilience and sometimes honor. I can't wait until tomorrow -- Dolphins game, opening day, honoring Mr. Wilson, seeing a healthy Jim Kelly, cheering on an up and coming team that's going to be in Buffalo for a long time. Most of all -- 3 kids in tow who have never lived in Buffalo but are as crazy about the Bills as I am.... One excerpt from Luke: On Tuesday morning I was engaged in my day job, covering Capitol Hill for NBC News. But my mind was not focused on Speaker John Boehner talking about the role of Congress in the fight against ISIS, it was on Twitter, where Graham was now reporting he had two sources saying Pegula buying the Bills was “a done deal.” I was elated. However, being a Bills fan, I pinched myself knowing that nothing is certain until it’s totally certain (lest anybody forget the Tragedy in Tennessee, known by its “Music City” moniker outside of Western New York). It wasn’t till I got to my desk and saw the headline on the Buffalo News web page that I knew it was really happening. Then, I cried. I cried for my grandpa, my Uncle Bill and for my dad.

  5. Did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
  6. Marcus Easley is a beast......man really glad they were patient with this kid. His first punt tackle was awesome-- drove the blocker back into the returner...
  7. He's also the coach that led Thad to the trading block in Detroit....curse you Downing....you, you Thad Lewis career killer...
  8. Chad Kelly began traveling back to Division 1 football last night at East Mississippi Community College going 31-38 for 355 yards and 4 touchdowns. He is QBing the current #1 ranked team in Junior College football. Many folks have posted about Chad's issues in HS and at Clemson. I am sure this is a lesson in humility that I hope leads him to realizing his dreams. Folks blamed part of his issues at Clemson this spring on being distraught about Uncle Jim's health. At least for last night, he probably made Uncle Jim pretty proud.
  9. I have been tardy in greeting you back........just haven't been posting much. Welcome back!
  10. God that !@#$ing EJ sucks......and everyone who doesn't think so is a god damn moron
  11. Manny Lawson and Ron Brooks for Chris Ponder
  12. Actually considered buying some real estate there the last couple of years. Its like any beach town, there is good and bad. Film has been a huge driver of the economy the last decade (now adding over $1 billion to the NC economy--Screen Gems has a huge studio operation) and our General Assembly in NC just ended most of the tax breaks for the industry so I would expect, unless this is reversed quickly, a huge driver of employment will likely go away and real estate and the local economy will suffer. The good: Wrightsville is a fun beach -- there is a combination coffee bar/mexican restaurant at the end of the main causeway that is a slice of life.... Downtown has a really fun vibe--good food, lots of music, a little eclectic Housing is relatively cheap for a beach town, particularly on the west side of the Intercoastal City administration is forward thinking New Hanover schools aren't bad New Hanover hospital is much better than one would expect for a town of Wilmington's size There are some growing industries -- Information Security, PPD pharm and the Contract Research Space The bad: Crime rate is fairly high in areas just off downtown -- sometimes the gang stuff seeds over into downtown Movie industry death will hit the town hard and it could go downhill PM if you want more. All in all we are big fans.
  13. Sounds like a great cause. I have been looking for another non-profit to support -- I will pledge $10 for every TD EJ scores (throwing or running-- not a pick 6 though ;-)). It would be great to do a fan match.
  14. The epitome of class, beauty and downright sexy to her last breath. There's a great picture of Bogart seated in between she and Marilyn Monroe both leaning on him lovingly. Its my favorite -- "if I could take his place" photo...
  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPoBCoqhgvg Whether or not you like Kimmel -- I love the line--if the Bills go to Toronto we're going to war with Canada....
  16. I agree the feasibility for TO sites might have been done before the rules were fully known -- but its still really good work by JW and puts suspicion around the "Blaze of Glory" bid.
  17. Stupid !@#$er looked up and turned into a bronze statue. Heads down everyone.
  18. Do you think we should start a 529 or bank on a mascot scholarship?
  19. http://blogs.wsj.com...terested-buyer/ Gundlach acknowledged that Bills owner Ralph Wilson is unlikely to part with the franchise while still living. He also acknowledged that buying a sports franchise in Western New York isn’t a huge growth opportunity. “It’s not an investment,” he said. “It’s because I love the Bills.” I know he's not the most trustworthy guy in bond trading -- lawsuits, etc. But he appears to understand the fierce loyalty that binds us all to the team. He has one great advantage over Pegula and Tom G. He is in his mid-50's -- give me a guy who is going to live for 25 more years and keep the team local. I have actually been waiting for his name to resurface.
  20. First time in several months that he sounds like Jim Kelly. A great sign!
  21. Glad she is okay John. Dang! Nothing is worse for a dad than one of his baby girls being harmed or potentially harmed. Exercise some restraint when they find the other driver -- I know how hard that will be. Every cell in your body will want to kill the mother!@#$er...
  22. This thread is reminding me of a certain scene from Caddyshack....
  23. Its a frickin' KFC -- scary is a requirement of entry, right? ;-)
