  1. That’s where I read it too, just wanted to point out that its from the NYT.
  2. I was about to come post this. This is from the very left leaning New York Times. It’s the bastardizaroon and politicization of science for the agenda of getting Trump out of office. I’m sure it’s all part of Dr. Desai’s woke agenda gone bad.
  3. So anyone who has strong words is a wife beater? I don’t particularly like the words he used but just because a guy has a strong opinion about something that dissents from a woman’s view certainly would not make him a wife beater, or even a bad person in any way. He certainly was out of line with his word usage but AOC has been just as strong against others, just not to their face. At least he had the balls to face a person face to face. In this twisted world it’s seen as a bad thing. Too many people are worried about being factually correct instead of being morally right (I.e. my feelings and lived experience mean more than factual data). The most logical person ever, yes. BS Joe Blow might have just given the race back to Trump with signing on to Green New Deal principles. Keep digging a hole Joe, I think this is just the beginning.
  4. Enough people will start to do that if this continues and it will affect the bottom line. The virtue signaling will be over and the NFL will return to it's bread and butter as it should. Politics should not be mixed with sports. As many have said, it's a way to get away from the real world, nothing that you and your ilk say about "changing the channel" or any other write off, will change that. Keep doing this NFL, it will not end well.
  5. I wouldn't cancel anyone's ideas (unless it was an imminent threat). It's hard because everyone seems to have been indoctrinated into this viewpoint from the 90s forward and they are reaping the fruit of the culture it has wrought. I tend to think they will eat their own and their nonsensical and disjointed message will be seen for what it is compared to cooler and rational heads over time. It's a long game, and we may see some short term pain (hopefully not to the point of the Gulags) for long term gain in the end. It seems like a difficult time, but I'm also hopeful that there is a majority that is silent. A majority that has to work and be responsible to themselves and their families. They can't be out in the streets but can vote for those who are more rational. We will see, otherwise we are doomed to repeat socialist/communist ideals until it unravels again. Interesting and dangerous times for sure.
  6. Sure man, sure. I know you’re being facetious.
  7. Of course not, no one needs to die and I hope it never comes to that. Just free flow of ideas rather than cancel culture.
  8. It's all based on post-modern theory, intersectional theory, and critical race theory (born out of these former two). Critical race theory is in a battle with "whiteness" which includes characteristics such as liking individualism, free society, personal responsibility, nuclear family, etc. They rail against freedom as "whiteness" and if you assert your love for these qualities, you are a white supremacist. The ideology does not allow for any room for discussion otherwise.
  9. Everybody has a virus that causes us to drink Coronas? God please no!! That's a terrible beer! How long have I been under that rock?
  10. It’s all about attacking the character rather than the tenants of the argument.
  11. Oh I know, I don’t expect him to come back and have a rational discussion. When it becomes a scholarly discussion, most of the leftists run and hide.
  12. Where’s Tibs on this? He seems to only respond when he feels he can make sweeping generalizations on the situation. This is a peer reviewed article brought forth by my professor in a masters level course on Human Resource Development. This is not some ridiculous article in the media. They actively talk about “whiteness” being a problem. When they tell you what they are and what they’re doing, believe them. Tibs, I hope that you’re not only concerned with the superficial and skin deep practice of propaganda for the left. Look under the hood and see what is really being done. It’s an attack on our very country’s values, enlightenment values, and rationality. It’s an attack on “whiteness”, which is defined by the people who are attacking it. Whiteness is a monolithic group for which to generalize racism over to create the “other”. It’s all right there in front of your eyes. Just read the words. Believe them for what they’re saying. Tibs, where are you?
  13. No you didn't, you added your own value judgement based on the narratives you had been fed. Attached is the article that I had promised you. This is an article presented in my masters level class years ago. Needless to say I discussed the other side of the issue to the teacher and the students in the class. Some liked it, others were very upset that I had a differing point of view, which is another worrying conversation. Pay close attention to "Theoretical Foundations of Social Justice" as this will inform you to some of the ideas that today's social justice warriors and the underpinning of today's movements believe. Critical Race Theory is THE very basis of the social justice movement we are seeing today. They don't mince words, "CRT proposes that racism is an enduring socially constructed reality that advances the position of whiteness" (p. 286). The logical take away from that, whiteness is the problem. Now, what does a white person take from that? We are born the problem because of our skin color. I talked about earlier how they seek to deconstruct society to make everything have multiple meanings (everything is an -ism or -ist) so that they can confuse everyone and make up seem down and down seem up. This is so that they can cause anarchy and the reconstruct the world in their image (it's all about power). Think about the word racism itself, the definition used to be about one group seeing another as inferior to each other. Now I hear Webster is going to change it to the ongoing narrative that the person who see's themselves as superior having the power to oppress. BS. Have a read, let me know what you think. Lots of other juicy kernels in there too for you to enjoy. Intersexionality is one of the main pillars and this is where the racism really comes into play (I don't say reverse-racism because noting is reverse-racism, it's all just racism no matter who is doing it to who). It's worth noting that this is only one of the articles that push this agenda in the curriculum. There have been many more articles such as this and discussions had that are pushing this social justice agenda. It's radicalizing in education. A Social Justice Paradigm for HRD Byrd article.pdf It's how they're trying to gain power, by confusing everything, causing society to collapse and then reconstructing in their own image. Critical Race Theory is the issue, "critical" does not mean to have critical thinking, it means to be critical of everything. Grievance studies.
  14. I’m aware but talking with people like that and putting the conversation where everyone can see allows people to see all sides. Its good to create a market place of ideas and hope people see the rational side.
  15. I didn’t, I brought up a book that talks about how they actually came to be in the gulags. Those who had their own farms or small businesses were seen as successful and thus we called Kulags because they were part of the problem. They were publicly shamed and then through into the gulags, those who were seen as successful. These were not CEOs of companies or the elite. Just everyday middle class people who were made into a characature of “the other” to desensitize the people who were uprising against this characature. To be able to let the die or kill these people, including the mothers and babies. “The other” is being created now at a fever pitch thanks to social media.
  16. I’ll get you that article but I have to step away for a bit, don’t take that as me giving up and throwing in the towel. Having a 1 year old and a 3 year old is hard to work. Talk soon.
  17. Also, I’ll fully admit, this is my own opinion. I’m not trying to demand and shout down other ideologies like those on the left. I’ll put my opinion out there and let the best idea and understanding win. It’s not so just because you say it is. I’ll challenge you to give me your reasoning on it.
  18. I did not say that, I’m saying it’s moving in the direction of what happened in the book, not that it will happen if they are elected straight away. Hopefully cooler heads prevail but no the signs are there. The upper class/rich people are all whites, “the other”, that needs to be overthrown. Dems continue to stoke that hate. What do you think is the logical end to that. I’ll hear you out. Right-o, false equivocation = par for the course for people of your ilk.
  19. I think Trump does dumb things a lot. You know the answer to the first one, that was a situation where the media played only a small part of the clip and created a narrative. That was not all Mexicans, just bad actors. The wall is needed and a wall. The meaning behind the wall is what the left assigned to it and you bought it hook line and sinker. It’s racist right? A wall can be immoral? Wow. You know full well why kids were separated. Nothing to do with wanting to specifically take kids away from their parents but because it was the law. Obama did the same thing. It’s nothing I condone but no ones perfect. That’s the problem, everyone has to be perfect in the world of the left. I think it was right to point out the issue there and spotlight it, but the narrative surrounding it was disgusting. Dreamers, just like the wall, is a value judgement on the individual. You’ve made your stance clear but one or the other is not wrong or right, it just depends on your ideology unfortunately. I think dreamers should be granted citizenship, their parents knowing what they were doing is another story. I’m not sure what judge you’re talking about but let me know and I’ll take a look. No I don’t believe in the birther narrative. Let me ask you, what makes that racist? A person who thinks they are not from this country could legitimately think they are not without being racist. That’s another problem with the left. The reason for everything is “racism” which usually misses what’s actually happening. In that way it continues to purpetuatre the issue because the actual crux of the matter is not remedied because...racism. Vicious cycle. How am I deflecting? I’m answering the questions straight away.
  20. Examples? Be as specific as possible and make sure you’re giving me all sides with all possibilities instead of the going narrative.
  21. You’re right, racism does hurt everyone. So why is the left trying to create more of it? Socialism has never, will never work. Sure, when I get to my computer, I will get one of the papers from my class that the professor assigned on critical race theory and the battle against “whiteness”. No, the theme is not that, that’s your own interpretation.
  22. First, The war in whiteness is happening. Just look at the scholars and their papers. “When a person tells you who they are, believe them the first time” ~ Maya Angelou. It’s all there, you don’t have to dig very far. It’s all a war against whiteness. Secondly, you’re doing what’s expected of people like you. Generalizing and equating with me being a racist. Unlike those in few in Charlottesville who were actual white supremacists, I don’t believe that one race is superior to another, in fact race would be better if it was a non-factor, not further being made a factor to pit everyone against each other like the left wants to do and the democrats are complying with. Simply live and let live. That’s a dog whistle to you I’ll bet, but no surprise, everything is to the left no matter how rational. Oh wait rationalism and enlightenment values are also racist, right? Finally, love how you’ll generalize the racist that Trump is without giving any firm examples. Again, it’s all what I would expect from someone of your ideological persuasion.
  23. He is not a racist, everything has become a dogwhistle to the left. That’s what critical race theory is trying to do. They are trying to deconstruct society in order to confuse everyone about meanings to the point no one knows what means anything anymore. It’s an anarchist type of function. The end goal is to have society collapse and the redo society in their image. It’s all about power. This is all in the writing of the post-modernists and subsequently in the writings of the critical race theorists. Do you think it’s working? You mean with his executive actions? No, all presidents have had questionable executive actions depending on the audience. It’s no worse or better. What specifically is it that you think is against checks and balances. Do you agree with democrats wanting to remove the filibuster?
  24. You’re being far too simplistic which is not surprising for someone who sympathises with the Left. Propaganda necessitates simplicity and easily understood rhetoric that sounds wonderful and that no one could disagree with (black lives matter/anti-racism). Just look for a second under the thin skin and you’ll find it’s a house of cards designed to gain power for their group. It’s all about power. I’m for smaller government and less distribution and more freedom. Both parties suck, they both attempt to gain and consolidate power. The right says they are the party of small government yet government continues to grow under them too.
