  1. It is not a huge number, you have to take the passage of time into account too. If you believe it’s a large number. then you also have to believe that number is credible given the overwhelming incentive to inflate those numbers for financial gain. We are treating the deaths of COVID patients completely differently from other conditions and it’s artificially causing that number to change, to an inflated number in my opinion. There will be revision to this number down the road when it’s not politically expedient and it will be readily apparent what happened to those who are paying attention. All this said, I shouldn’t have waded into the COVID discussion, everyone is so politically entrenched it is beating a dead horse. I won’t respond to COVID issues as we are getting off the original topic at this time. Given your stance on COVID, I’ll venture to guess you’re a BLM supporter?
  2. If you’re making that claim, it’s on you to prove it. In order to believe this, you’re going to have to completely disregard research over decades and decades that state positive reinforcement and incentives create predictable and repeated behavior. So if we give positive reinforcement to say that if you label a person as dying from COVID then you will give them extra money, in the middle of an economic shut down no less, don’t you think they are going to be incentivized to call as much as possible as COVID deaths? Extrapolate logically here, no political bent needed. i can’t speak to your anecdotal information, I will say this. There are around 200k confirmed deaths (debatable but I digress) in the country as a whole. In a country of around 350 million, does that sound like a number that overwhelms? Again, extrapolate logically, don’t listen to political pundits. If it was so bad, why was it that ventilators were not needed nearly as badly as Cuomo was crying for? They had to redirect the vents. Do you remember that political football? It’s all political! That is your own opinion. You disagree with their viewpoint and you assign the fact that they are racist. I live in A rural NC town at this juncture while building a house outside of Asheville because Asheville has lost its mind. They’ve approved reparations, Green new deal, defunding the police and I won’t be around to see the city fall apart like Portland or to have to pay the over inflated taxes. I’ll live amongst those so-called racists as you call them, in the rural areas over that type of craziness.
  3. That is a great series, I really enjoy them. the crux Issue of your thought process is one that many seem to make here. It’s coming from an empathetic space and I understand it. However, you are assuming a lot here. You’re assuming you know the mind of everyone who’s has boo’d. I get it, it’s just easier to generalize and create an “other”, but id be willing to bet its more nuanced than that. If it’s purely racist intent then I completely disavow those people and agree with you, but it’s almost assuredly not the reason why each person is booing. Rather than assigning malicious intent to our fellow man, the country as a whole really needs to give the benefit of the doubt and assume positive pretenses and then clarify with those people to understand their viewpoint rather than judge a book by its cover as is so predominant today. Only then can we really understand each other and root out individual racist acts.
  4. It’s so strange that people take celebrities words for things seemingly just because of their celebrity status. Why does that make them more qualified to talk on issues? I’m sure there are intelligent well-learned individuals within the ranks and maybe they are worth hearing out, but by in large, it seems that celebrities have a superficial understanding of things. Perfect example is Cardi B. See Cardi B’s interview with Biden. Painful and obvious pandering of the highest order.
  5. So you’re saying it is being made political? Affirming what people are saying? Well we agree then. COVID, another political tool. It’s something that’s real, though it’s not as deadly as thought and it kills mostly those who are above the national average life expectancy, but the spin the politicians and news media put on it is a “hoax” to instill fear. Fear makes it easy to control you. That said, make your own decisions, if you feel as though it’s too risky for you, don’t go to the game. Don’t disparage those who want to go, it’s their right and they’ve assessed the threat differently than you. So be it!
  6. It’s like you think that they are being silenced. He said they can certainly do it on their own time. They are getting paid a lot more than most of us ever will see by far, they are not oppressed. Oh they will, you’re not thinking right and have to be shamed, re-educated, and silenced until you think the way they do.
  7. So you know all of their minds? Could it be they see right through the virtue signaling? Could it be that they simply do not want politics in their sports as it’s supposed to be a relief? Could it be they see the BLM movement for what it is? Could it be any other reason than simply stating “racism”? That’s lazy. Frankly, that line of thinking doesn’t allow us to get to the root of problems, everything is racist and the only way to fix it is to fix racism. What if it isn’t racism (as it usually isn’t) and there is an easy fix to the issue that would make everyone on all sides happy? Now, what if that fix itself is seen as “whiteness” and is looked at as racist? Well can’t fix the problem now, it’s racist. It self perpetuates in perpetuity never being fixed. If it’s clear racism, do something about it, I agree, but it’s usually not the explanation. Your view point offers no nuance and simply paints people with different views as “the other”. That will never work for civil discourse and is exactly why this country is so divided today. They are railing against the divisive nature of the radical left movement which includes BLM. Some may simply be racist (of that is the case then they are POS’s), but I’ll bet the large group is simply tired of the rhetoric. Also, equality in the way you mean it, wealth distribution, is socialism/eventual communism. The country never has and never will want it. That will always be a losing battle. It’s also a call for equality of outcomes which has never been promised, only equality of opportunity. That is what this country is founded on and is what has made this country the greatest in the world. It’s created jobs and wealth for, yes, even minorities. Equality is a nice word for a terrible idea! It will only lead to more discrimination when we are told you have to be a certain color, sex, race to be hired to meet an arbitrary quota.
  8. It was brought to us by the NFL. Don’t be disingenuous.
  9. That’s the way it’s supposed to be, free thought and expression but it’s a whole different beast when you are told you HAVE to think a certain way or else. That it happening from the far left and BLM movement and it’s as un-American as it gets, but that’s the point for these radicals isn’t it? Paint everything as a systemic issue in a way that’s impossible to refute because it’s so general and if you don’t agree you are painted as racist. That’s why people are booing, they don’t want to be told they have to think a certain way, especially when the movement obviously manufactured on false pretenses. The mental gymnastics people do is amazing, just to support something that sounds good but in practice is looking to burn down the system. I stand with those that boo for that reason. Get politics out of sports, it’s ruining it! If you have to have politics in sports, at least have something that is a genuine concern that is backed by actual facts that show what they are saying. They try to tell you how you should think...
  10. A fool does not make a person unintelligent, I actually think you are intelligent. You have coherent arguments, they are just informed incorrectly in my view. That’s why I say we should agree to disagree, we are not going to see eye to eye. We are too far apart. That’s ok though, if we were to meet in person, I would hope we could still have a drink, talk about the Bills and speak intelligently about subjects that we would not necessarily agree with each other with without calling each other “evil” or appealing to our own tribe to call the other evil. That’s what this country needs. No ones perfect, certainly not myself, but we have a commonality in that we live in the awesome country (some don’t even believe that’s true) and we both love the Bills. So agree to disagree. I don’t need to character assassinate and I don’t think you need to either.
  11. Go ahead, say what you mean. Why is it ironic?
  12. Ah, attacking my intelligence. The tool of the fool.
  13. My premise is that they don’t believe it. They are doing it to signal their virtue, to show they can be progressive, to gain sales. Simple. You can go ahead is reject that premise if you wish but I believe this to be the case. He doesn’t realize he is making our case with when trying to discredit. It’s quite interesting actually.
  14. Ok, you obviously don’t agree. That’s fine, we can agree to disagree. They don’t believe what they’re saying, their pandering for sales. You must have seen the twitter post from EA that shows their virtue signaling. It’s clear.
  15. Yes, they are virtue signaling based exactly how you portray it. Thanks.
  16. You have a wildly different perspective of what virtue signaling is. Whether it is to remain in power or gain more power, gain revenue or to not lose revenue, or just because you want to be the most liked person in a group and you think doing something that seems virtuous will help that problem, that’s the exact situation the term virtue signaling is created for. EA is nodding to its social justice fans in hopes they will be seen as virtuous and sell more games. What is your definition? Keep in mind, these types of terms can go through several different evolutions of meaning as time moves forward. The colloquial use of terms can create completely new meanings, see the term “racism” and how it’s being changed to fit current narratives. So perhaps your idea is a more contemporary understanding where mine could be based on its original meaning and so on and so forth.
  17. Obvious virtue signaling
  18. “End Racism” is actually a good way to put it. It is not stating that racism is systemic, just that racism should end, which I agree with. Racism should be stamped out when it happens, it is not systemic, but there are dummies that continue to practice it. “It takes all of us” is along the same line. I would agree that it takes all of us to call it out when ACTUAL racism happens in our lives. I do not stand with BLM but agree with the idea that black lives matter in the literal sense. Of course they do!
  19. You are too afraid to match wits with me. I provided a peer reviewed article for one of my masters class for your review where they explicitly state they are battling “whiteness.” Then crickets. See you’re very predictable. You’re only able to belittle people by character assassination as you just showed with this comment. It’s all surface level comments built to sow sympathy, that often times sounds great on its face, but is skin deep with no substance what-so-ever. In theory it sounds wonderful, in practice it falls on its face epically. Take a look at this gallop article, it very nicely illustrates the issue. People gravitate to words that sound nice and make them sound noble if answered the right way. However, when asked the question in another way, a way that reveals the nuts and bolts of what it actually means, the reverse happens. That’s how the left is able to continue their agenda. Whisper sweet sweet nothings into the ears of their constituents and never follow through or fail miserably as it always was going to do. See Portland Oregon for a contemporary example. https://news.gallup.com/opinion/polling-matters/317006/affirmative-action-public-opinion.aspx This article clearly articulated the problem of anti-racism. It shows how anti-racism is racist in itself with a real life example. This is by the Atlantic, a clearly liberal leaning publication. Notice how the anti-racist ideology bearers demand genuflecting to their ideology or nothing, or you’re cancelled. This is the type of thing this ideology demands, it’s all or nothing, no room for discussion, no room for other reasons why things are the way they are, it’s just racism. This type of thinking will lose steam and be seen for what it is, racism! It’s a long one but worth a read for all sides of the aisle. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/08/meta-arguments-about-anti-racism/615424/ Your schtick is tired and it’s great to see people are waking up to the tactics you, and people like you, employ.
  20. Didn’t realize Roscoe Parish played for the hawks now?
  21. No, because there are not videos everywhere showing these happening daily. I know because there are scant videos only showing a narrative and only showing the parts that are the pinnacle of the altercation and nothing else. That shows the bias, to cause people to see it the way they want you to and to illicit visceral feelings people fall for all of the time rather than take a step back and think rationally before judging. You can also look at hard statistics that are put out there by the DOJ in regards to killings at the hands of police or those who are more likely to commit violent crimes, etc. The fact that there are only a handful of videos vs millions of stops over a decade says that the large amount of stops are uneventful and go just fine. It’s also common sense.
  22. That’s always the refrain and one of the biggest issues. Empathy is usually a good thing when it’s something that is based on reality. Not when it’s generalized in the way you had stated. It’s dangerous because it dehumanizes the police and makes people think they are racist anytime it’s a white cop stopping a minority. ive already addressed your earlier point in an earlier post. You’ve just rephrased what I had responded to already.
  23. No this specific situation does not sit well with me, he handled it the way a person should handle it. What I’m not going to do is generalize this across all systems. Sometimes we all get tough luck, I got profiled and pulled over for being a young teen with young teen friends in the car, no other reason. I acted respectful, he kept us for awhile, made me late for work and I got reprimanded for it. Point is, act with civility and nothing will escalate in the overwhelming cases of being stopped by a cop. Those situations where it’s a fact that there was negligence or racist intention, throw the darn book at them, let them roast! It’s not systemic like they’d like you to believe. Most police got into the business because they believe in justice and act accordingly. This particular situation seems egregious on its face, but I also don’t have the other sides story on this. I can’t make an informed opinion and I’m certainly as heck not going to chalk this up to racism in the absence of all sides of the story. That’s what got us into this mess in the first place, lived experiences replacing actual facts.
  24. Yeah, I used to watch it back in the day, and I still see the articles that they post, it’s no different. Two things can be true at once, I don’t watch the news, and I can understand the propaganda continues through other mediums. How about that? Crazy to think through isn’t it? Fox is a propaganda pusher too.
  25. I already agreed with that point, look back.
