  1. Seattle either got lucky with a bunch of players on that roster or someone knows how to coach. Earl Thomas might be the only first or second round pick on that entire roster.
  2. There is nothing inherently wrong with Rex'so scheme, it just under utilizes dominant talented in the front 4-7. It's a more passive scheme and it's not necessary when you have the physical talent. Our roster was built more on physicality than savvy and that's why it was a bad fit. The tackling should have been drilled in practice and obviously wasn't.
  3. True. Do we think they move Groy or Wood to guard when Richie goes?
  4. Groy was PFF's highest graded center this week. Seems to be getting consistently good scorestuff from them. Nothing wrong with depth but I think Groy's performance will make things interesting going into next season.
  5. Lions DC Damn. Imagine Quinn/Shanahan here.
  6. Agreed
  7. Of course I choose to sleep in on such a big news day!
  8. EJ is going to light up the Jets. But I will only be truly impressed if he scores more than 41.
  9. We would still have been in the hunt:(
  10. Wow this game...
  11. Total yardage and points are up this year. It's not like our D is getting all these turnovers and we capitalize on great field position. We move the ball and we get points.
  12. I hear you, and I used that same argument when we couldn't punch it in on 1st and goal with 1:00 left in the Hawks game. Tyrod still could have done it but the call to Reggie Bush for example wasn't his fault. Ultimately TT did give us the late lead and the teams and defensive units gave the game back. He had a great game. A team relies on each individual doing their job and he did his. No QB makes every play. I know you really hate Tyrod and I get all your reasons. But I still can't think of a better option for next year at this time.
  13. Sorry, you were slamming one guy so I said "let him down," but the point is the same. Tyrod stepped up for his team, and that goes for almost the entire offense too. He specifically rose to the occasion while several others on other units did not hold up there end. You don't have to nitpick the word choice when the point is clear.
  14. Defense is a concern. Under different leadership I expect Dareus and Hughes to return to form. Lawson will get a full camp and Ragland will be back. We still have depth on the line. Zach Brown or Lorax could be brought back if we wanted and I don't think either would cost a lot because Brown regressed and Alexander is kind of old. Secondary is a concern. DB is almost assuredly our round 1 pick. But it's not a looming disaster just yet. Gonna try not to hijack the thread though.
  15. He can't play on the right side.
  16. Well I'm happy to say I'm wrong there, but I think dating back to last year Darby was a guy I thought of as a reliable tackler and at minimum he at least displays proper form.
  17. Darby is a pretty good tackler. And Robey actually.
  18. I get the logic. If they really think Cardale is ready to take a shot and they really think he could be better for us than TT moving forward, sure. I don't think that's the case. I'd rather EJ get the start than thrust Jones in there when he isn't ready.
  19. This may be true, but tackling has been an issue for the last two seasons outside of a few players and Rex is still not making them practice tackling apparently.
  20. No, but it's about cap savings at a position where we don't need to be paying as much money as we are. Just spit balling possible options and seeing everyone's thoughts
  21. Well I'd like to see Lynn get a chance to HC this last week as aneeded audition of sorts. Not that NYJ is much of an audition. I'd like to see how he manages.
  22. Didn't they both play most downs?
  23. True. But it's a brutal loss for the Raiders either way.
  24. Fair, but I still think Groy has acquitted himself well. He was good as a 6th lineman and he's been good at center. Would be useful on the roster one way or another. He'd be a plug and play option so we can save the money and not worry about center in the draft.
  25. In light of the season being effectively over now, I have been thinking about some ways to pkay around with the roster for next year and this came to mind. I'm not an expert on cap stuff, but I know despite some dead money we also save some for getting rid of Wood. I know the guy is a leader and all, but I was surprised to see that the line has not taken any noticeable hit from his loss this season. I may even be so bold to say that Groy has been better. Certainly better value. He is a RFA next year, do we think about rolling with him at C next year?
