  1. Interestingly all of those knocks are very similar to what we saw with Tyrod Taylor. Takes great care of the football, but struggled moving the sticks and in the red zone. And I would also take the ups and downs of a young but talented QB who takes some risks. Granted, Smith is still a solid QB and worth more that Tyrod, but they play a similar game.
  2. Guys don't get stuck at zero infinity. Sammy is ascending himself to a higher dimension.
  3. I think the tweet was saying the offense looks bad, but Daboll is trying a lot of different looks out there so there would be an adjustment period. Not a doom tweet.
  4. Yup. Hopefully it isn't a distraction.
  5. Ben's pshyche was still hurt by them drafting Mason in the 3rd! I do think Rudolph was a value pick for them in the third. Interestingly, I do think the Steelers' picks over the last few years have been very unimpressive. Granted, they weren't in any position to take the elite talent of any draft being in the 20s usually, but it seems like the Steelers aren't knocking any picks out of the park lately. The 2017 draft class might be alright, but 2015-2016, yikes.
  6. I don't know if DeMarco has much left in him, but I wouldn't mind trying Morris. Either would still be better than Lacy. No matter what it's going to be a huge drop off from Shady.
  7. Think they might try to slip Proehl and/or Reilly back on the PS. Foster and Streater seem to be doing well in camp too.
  8. Locker as the floor is an interesting choice. It's hard to know what Locker could have been with all the injuries. His 2013 campaign wasn't bad, but he he only played seven games and wasn't good in 2014 before calling it quits (although that was a pretty bad supporting cast too). I certainly hope Allen proves to be more durable.
  9. The whole situation was a mess, with him getting hurt in the Chargers game and then tweaking the injury in the snow game too. I expect more production like his stat line against New England week 16... including the should-be touchdown. We are gonna pass the ball more this year.
  10. Shady somewhere in the top 30 is solid.
  11. Have to wait and see what the number is. I assume the one year price is more than the Bills want to throw down. They are saving for next year.
  12. Both are good teams (of course) but the Caps have been on the brink for how many years now? One of these years they gotta get to the finals, right? They are fighting hard this time around. I liked what I saw tonight.
  13. I say lucked because they had two top-tier goalies on the roster and that isn't often the case. And Fleury has had his ups and downs over the years but he has been on another level this year. I would feel lucky as a Knights staffer or fan.
  14. Indeed. Outside of lucking into Fleury thanks to a loaded Penguins roster, the VGK performance is way above and beyond what it should have been. Their team on paper was not good. Karlsson and Marchessault all of a sudden are stars. Gotta credit the GM and coach, but I still can't believe they are going to the cup.
  15. How? I just don't get it.
  16. I still don't understand how the Knights are this good. And their unis are just so bad. I love the energy in Vegas around them though. Fun to watch.
  17. Gosh, what happened to Karlos Williams.
  18. This might be the Caps team we have been waiting for all these years.
  19. Those were some awful goals to allow, but that second one showcased how fast the Jets can play. Beating the defense down the ice and getting a couple pucks on the net.
  20. Forsberg is ridiculous Also, happy to see the Caps knock off the Pens.
  21. Heh, the timing of the pitch and the announcement were way off. You rarely see a first pitch fly way over the head of the catcher though.
  22. The Predators and Thrashers did not do this well in their inaugural season, or for many years after. The VGK year has been a record-breaking one. I don't think it has much to do with a "welfare" system as it has been put. Certainly being gifted Fleury helps, but even then no one predicted he would be playing this well.
  23. So he goes from having a "I don't know if I have it left in me" moment after a five pick performance against Jacksonville to a Tom-Brady-esque "I'm playing forever" thing.
