  1. Another one? Really? I love Fred but he doesnt belong in the same sentence as McCoy.
  2. I think it's Tyrod but EJ's performance makes you think twice. No way do they cut him.
  3. Excuse me? What are you talking about? He went to Harvard, he must be smart in all aspects of life and quarterbacking.
  4. Thanks for the TC notes this year Astro! Highly recommend them to people at work who wanna know whats going on. Really hope D.Thompson makes the team, think he might have a chance to be a real good player. TE cuts will be interesting to see, been keeping an eye on M.Gray since his junior year at Minn. Easy guy to root for
  5. I'm in the crowd that doesn't care if EJ wins the job or not. Drafting a 1st rd QB next year is what I think is best regardless, love EJ's character but he has displayed inconsistency in every aspect of Qb since FSU. Whoever can lead the Bills to wins is what matters. If EJ develops then it's a great thing and it's definitely good to keep him at least as 3rd QB but no tears shed if he's gone. That being said, WGR has been ridiculous and childish in the way they've commented and slanted the perception of the QB competition. The QB situation overall has not been as bad as they've advertised and every EJ overthrow is over-exaggerated badly. When it's not a pity party over their coverage being criticized it's the Schopp temper tantrums, I haven't tuned into the afternoon show in a few years now at all. Going to camp 2-3 times this year it's like I must be watching something different when I read the tweets and hear the updates, when receivers run a wrong route its not even mentioned if it was Cassel or Taylor. Is EJ the answer this year? I agree with them that the answer is no. Has EJ botched this summer as bad as they (a "professional" sports radio station) has said? No and its not even close.
  6. Can't tell if serious....? Thanks for Marrone and Hackett though, doubt even the legend of Ryan Nassib could have improved that tire fire. He looked mediocre in college, the best Cuse has had in a little while but that isnt saying much of anything. I'd rather have Jimmy freakin Clausen. A comeback vs Mizz isn't that impressive, the top 21-23 teams get beat every once in a while and have been beat by worse.
  7. Well instead of starting an argument out of nothing, thanks for sharing what you heard. Appreciate the people that get the occasional scoop around here, for some reason they always get chased away. Qb situation sounds like its definitely going to last until prep for the Colts. I'd love to hear Roman's side of the story with the 49ers, never been a big believer in Kaep myself. Really thought the heavy read option offenses were a fad for a few years, I think the Bills could have short term success like the 9ers but they need a new top end QB prospect in the next 2yrs. Taylor shouldn't be looked at as a long term solution and I worry that is what could potentially happen if this year is a success. Or Cassel could start anyways and then we all know we need a QB yet again. Interesting month ahead of us Bills fans.
  8. Hogan hasnt had a good camp, Deonte Thompson imo could steal that spot. More upside and great camp. Gray has been practicing as the 2nd TE behind Clay. Think he would have to bomb to fall behind Gragg/O'Leary.
  9. If Buffalo drafted Oakman (or any DE) while sitting in the teens, would this board explode? Pretty sure the Bills fan in me would lay down and put a paper bag on. Su'a Cravens really stands out when watching USC, he was flying all over the place vs. UCLA. A fast and very bad man.
  10. I'm not sold on Oakman either, but when a guy has that size and has some flashes I guess that happens. He is only a sophomore but U of Miami QB Brad Kaaya looked excellent in his freshman year. Ended up more impressed with him instead of Phillip Dorsett and Clive Walford. Definitely worth keeping an eye on him.
  11. Trae Waynes is looking rough, been letting his man run open or mugging him all night. Tyler Murphy is a nobody, started a Florida Gator had a few good starts i think, then transferred to Boston College. Brad Smith like ability, atheletic but can't really do anything well enough to notice. Glad we didnt pick Penn St. TE Jesse James, imagine Chandler but only if Chandler can't catch. Or even block. Mike Kafka seems like solid back-up QB material. Smart and in control, but very limited physically. R. Shazier=Star I made it to halftime and my head hurts.
  12. I see it suggested that a QB should be taken high every year until you have one, but what teams in recent memory have done that more then every 3 years? And if you do use a 1st or 2nd every year, how do you replace the depth/production in positions that you would have otherwise taken? It's a foolish approach and a reason why it just isnt done. Teams wait for QB's to define themselves. This team is perfectly built to accommodate a talented rookie QB. Some teams take them too early (David Carr, Sam Badford) and they crumble under pressure, but if the Bills take one this year they step in to an excellent supporting cast. The QB situation isnt much better with any QB besides Bridgewater, it is highly questionable whether R.Wilson would have been successful with the Bills situation. Whaley has set himself up near perfectly. I have a feeling this next draft will define the Bills of the 2010's. This year let's just cheer for some playoffs and QB's needing adult diapers.
  13. I just listen to their on-demand section, it goes by the hour so you're a little behind but NO commercials which improves the experience. Glad they finally toned down on the Eichel love a little, it was getting real creepy.
  14. 1)Bills 2)Michigan STATE 3)NY Rangers 4)Pitt. Pirates 5) Green Bay Packers Big Ten football is a huge favorite of mine. Just can't stand Ohio St. and the Wolverines, hope their fans get used to hearing about Connor Cook and Dantonio winning the Big Ten.
  15. LeSean McCoy was actually my favorite non-Bill to watch, his acquisition had me dancing at the office all day. Such a exciting running style and his ability to make people miss with quick feet and compact movements in small spaces is second to none. Think he will make everyone forget about Kiko by week 8. Since he is in Buffalo now I would have to say Peyton Manning or Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers just has it all, big accurate arm and his ability to scramble is criminally underrated. Packer football has been fun to watch for 15+ years thanks to him and Favre. Think he is the best QB in the game since Manning has declined. Still it is fun to watch Peyton audible and his ability to read a defenses so easily, even with his physical tools fading the guy finds a way to exploit a defense just about every week. Cam Newton and Watt also come to mind.
  16. Cut Williams to save 2m, and there is the unfortunate possibility F.Jackson gets cut which is another 2(?)m. They can afford to pay Mathis what he was making before, maybe even more. If Mathis is looking for less then five million per year, this signing has to happen.
  17. I think Harvin will be one of the biggest reasons we make the playoffs this year. Predict that by the time off-season comes around we all whine that we cant afford his cap hit or to rework his deal. Other prediction is Bradham will become a even bigger monster and make the pro bowl. And Watkins will show us why he was rated higher then OBJ in the draft. Unfortunately the debate will keep going until they both retire OR Mike Evans is actually Jerry Rice.
  18. 100 for McCoy? Did he try Stevie Johnson's off season workout plan?
  19. If you franchise Dareus twice it doesnt send a good message to the other players in the locker room. If the Pegulas take care of their own, other players will want to come here and more players will want to stay. Need to undo the culture that's been created the last 20 years where players have great seasons and walk out the door. Signing the best DT in the league, that we also happened to draft, is a huge step into sending a message to future Bills. You perform well here, you will be rewarded.
  20. Agreed, Golson has made great plays in games but he matches them with really dumb ones. Think it was Notre Dame vs Arizona State where he turned the ball over just about every time he got the opportunity. Think the only USC game I caught last year was against UCLA and I gotta say I thought Kessler seemed like nothing special. Be sure to watch more of him this year though. Connor Cook and Jones are the two I'm really excited to watch. Cook is a better version of Cousins in every way possible. Watching his confidence grow against Ohio State/Stanford two years ago was amazing. Thanks for your thoughts MOVALLEYRANDY! Hope to see some more posts when NCAA football starts back up.
  21. Numbers don't tell the story with Tannehill, he's got above average physical talent and below average mental ability for the game. Don't think he'll live up to that contract and the 'Phins will have high expectations until a few years down the road without the results they are looking for. Maybe they make the playoffs once or twice in the next 5 years but can't see Tannehill getting much farther then that.I don't think he's bad and yeah the Bills would be much improved with him but he will never be more than a bit above average. If the goal is deep playoffs then no thank you. It's funny how improved the media considers the 'Phins. They drafted a rookie WR, lost a good DE to add a great DT, added Kenny Stills in exchange for Mike Wallace and replace Clay with Cameron. Losing Odrick lessens Suh's impact, teams will double Suh quite a lot without Nick Fairley next to him. Kenny Stills is a wash from Wallace and rookie WRs typically dont produce well right away. Cameron is a hit to the head away from retirement. Keeps the Bills from pursuing him next year as well, which would be a mistake imo. Drafting and developing a QB is the way to go, get those cheap years before you require your GM to do cap gymnastics. Cook vs Tannehill please!
  22. Yeah, Tim Tebow isn't 100% responsible for the attention and headlines he generates. If you don't like the stories/attention then dont read them. Why is that so hard for some people? Should he have not signed with the Eagles because it would be talked about? I don't love Tim Tebow, but I certainly don't hate him. Good college player who got way over drafted in Denver and somehow found a little success. This is probably his last chance in the NFL as a QB, so good luck Tim.
  23. D. Shelton and R. Gregory in whichever order in the 1st sounds like a home run imo. Gregory could fall to 12, not to sure about Shelton see him anywhere from pick 10-32. Shelton's 40 is a bit of a concern, I dont put too much weight into combine unless a big red flag is raised but have to wonder if a few teams are scared off by it. If Jaelen Strong falls into rd 2, I'd do whatever it takes to secure him. He'd be nice to pair with Bowe, has enough speed to stretch defenses and Strong has that massive catch radius that QB's gotta love. Size is great too.
  24. Besides Urbik, we do not have a back up at center. Could also play both guard spots. If we stick with the current O-line unit and Urbik goes down for any reason we lose a guard and the emergency center, so for depth reasons I really like that they are reaching out. Depth cant always be great, normally why they are depth.
  25. All I've read about Nassib in this thread indicates that he should have been a first rounder. Can someone give some negatives to his game? I've watched 12+ of his games and really don't get the interest in this guy. No outstanding traits, no wow throws. Can't call his arm strong, maybe just average. Screams back-up when I watch him. I like the toughness he shows and he does have some accuracy but that is about it.
