  1. Agreed he is better than his stats. But his lack of consistent accuracy is what is hurting many of those numbers. Unless he improves in that area, his stats will always suffer. He might lead the team to many wins and be a terrific QB, but his stats won't be great if he isn't more accurate, IMO. Bartshan, very nice. If that is indeed true, then perhaps he only has to improve his accuracy throwing to the right, to really show a lot of improvement. I'm no trainer or QB coach, but I would think that his accuracy might be more easily improved if it involves one specific kind of throw, or category of throw, than accuracy in general.
  2. I have two of Winwood's most recent stuff and have heard the Clapton/Winwood album. I'm not particularly impressed, though I agree they are better than much of his past crap. Clapton is another who I can barely tolerate anymore. His unplugged stuff is garbage, for the most part.
  3. Yes, I know Paul does plenty of Beatles songs in concert. But to me, it's like Steve Winwood returning to his past and signing Traffic and Blind Faith songs. They seem hollow now. Winwood and McCartney were very talented musicians. Both of them sold out and made crap for many years. They are dead to me.
  4. That's great, Ken. Thanks.
  5. We were discussing this very article yesterday at the beauty shop. I was getting my nuts waxed at the time... Seriously though, yesterday on NPT's Fresh Air, Terry Gross interviewed the author of Apollo's Angels. I didn't get to hear the entire interview, but the did discuss the size/body type of ballet dancers. I am not sure if it was in response to the NYT review. The author of the book, Jennifer Homans (a former professional ballet dancer) rejected the notion a ballet dancer needs to be a particular size to be outstanding. Perhaps Mr. Macaulay had a bit of sand in his vagina. I hear that can make a gal quite bitchy.
  6. I have it on good authority The Dean is presently unattached. Something about his high standards. (I suspect it is also due to him being a fat slob at the moment.) But the women he has dated in the past have been extremely attractive. He always seems to be with women way out of his league.
  7. Those are songs Paul wrote while with the Beatles. All very good. I can't speak for AJ, but I was referring to the pop dreck he wrote post Beatles, like: Band on the Run, Listen What the Man Said, Silly Love Songs (I just threw up in my mouth, a little), No More Lonely Nights...
  8. Why would they fight you on this issue? Seems like it would help the site and its users. Other than a bit of work, do they think there is a downside? I have one concern about some stats, particularly those unofficial stats with no specific criteria. Do you find consistency from the stats issued by the teams themselves?
  9. In Lee, Stevie and Nelson, the Bills have a reasonable starting WR corp. If Roscoe returns he adds that 3rd down element. (Remember when posters said Roscoe couldn't run routes and get separation? I guess if you actually throw the ball to him, things change.) Jones has really improved (I thought he was just a ST player) and Easley should be joining this group for 2011. The Bills have a few holes to fill. I would say WR is in decent shape. Why screw around with it now?
  10. He will be back and he will be the best WR on the team. Just as he has been since he arrived. Now, I'm not completely opposed to trading Lee, but I just don't think there is enough value in trading a WR in this league.
  11. I'd agree if I thought that was the reason Bills fans have hope. But I don't think it is simply because the games are close. That was Robonson's way of illustrating The Bills are probably better than their record, this year. I think most of the Bills fans who are showing some excitement and optimism for the future, are basing it on how the team is playing, not the closeness of the score.
  12. Actually people who see the world in black and white are the biggest losers, IMO.
  13. I would argue it hurt the Bills in that game. They might have had a chance had Favre been able to stay in the game. But for historic value, it is a pretty significant hit.
  14. I like the Beatles, but find Paul McCartney hard to listen to.
  15. It looks pretty damn intentional to me. Not just the cheap shot, but the line of Jests personnel standing fairly close to the playing field. My point was, WEO was right about one thing (very unusual for him). They were about 3 feet or so away from the playing field.
  16. A very cracker Christmas?
  17. The Jests coaches are lined up right on the line, but that line is about 3 feet wide. They are on the outside of the line, not the field side. With that said, running out of bounds on kick coverage is neither unusual nor illegal. This was a clear cheap-shot. Nothing mitigates it, IMO.
  18. Probably the best looking woman I have ever seen in person. That was 15 or so years ago.
  19. If he's that smart why did he get married?
  20. I read somewhere actual attendance was around 40,000. If I find the reference I'll post it.
  21. I use this site all the time. They do a really nice job. But I never really noticed the SRS, until you brought it up. I saw the blog entry, but that's all from 2006. I didn't realize they had a column for SRS in the standings. Thanks.
  22. It's a reflection of their douche of a head coach. A team with a lot of class: all of it low.
  23. A huge number of tackles by the defense typically isn't a positive sign. It means the opposing offense has the ball too often, moves it too much, etc. But a player having a lot of tackles says positive things about the player. It isn't the only important stat, and the player with the most tackles isn't necessarily the best player. But making a lot of tackles is a very positive statement for a player. It means he hustles, keeps after the play and...can tackle. I remember the dopes who used to say London Fletcher wasn't any good, because he made his tackles downfield. Guess what? That's where the guy with the ball was. Unless he is downfield because London screwed up (which wasn't often the case) he made the play. He made the play when others didn't and before others could. Donte and Pos are similar in that respect. Anybody who is in the top rankings of # of tackles in the NFL is a good player. Period. Bad players don't make a lot of tackles.
  24. Has The Senator suggested Mike Leach, yet? Seeing as how the Florida and Miami jobs are taken (with Mike getting nary a sniff) he is probably more desperate than ever.
