I think he wrote their Christmas songs. You know, "Making a Liszt, checking it twice..." I really shouldn't post before drinking my coffee.

Does this guy deserve jail time or a medal?
The Dean replied to /dev/null's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Maybe he deserves both. -
She can be a knockout or a real dog, depending on her character. A real chameleon.

I think I'll pour a dram of Remy Martin VSOP.

What did you do when Stevie dropped the TD?
The Dean replied to UB2SF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I had to leave the bar where I watch the game to go to a "celebration of life" party for a friend of mine who died a week or so earlier. It was at another bar that doesn't have the NFL ticket. I figured I'd just watch the ticker and keep track. Well, I watched the ticker and was excited to see the Bills came back. It was clear the Jagoffs game would end before the Bills game, and I might get to watch the end of the Bills game after all. Indeed that happened, and I saw the Bills tie the game. What happens in OT? They go away from the game to the post game show. That is total BS, IMO. Anyway, they occasionally cut back to the Bills game, live or shortly after a big play. Now I was a ways down the bar (it was packed for the event) and the TV isn't all that big. But I saw the bomb to Stevie and was certain he caught it. I saw him sitting in the endzone holding the ball. "Bills win! Bills win!" I screamed, quite inappropriately considering the setting. I was congratulated by a few friends and ordered some shots. It was several minutes later that I noticed the score on the ticker was tied, and the Steelers had the ball. "WTF?" I asked. One guy next to me said, "Oh, he dropped the ball." "I SAW him catch the ball!" I insisted. A few minutes later they showed the replay and I could see the drop. Despite my disappointment at the time, I soon felt OK. The Bills had, once again, rebounded from a slow start and played competitively against one of the NFL's better teams. They aren't there yet, but they are making progress. Then I come home and watch the NFL Channel and ESPN, and log in here and read accounts of the game. I see that Stevie dropped a number of passes and took the loss hard...real hard. I'm thinking he had a horrible game. Well, I watched the replay on the NFL Channel and come to find out, Stevie was having a pretty good game, until he caught a bad case of dropsies. If the Bills were in the middle of the playoff hunt, a game like this would sting more than it does this year. I still want them to win every game. But this year there ARE moral victories (despite what some pinheads have asserted). This was a big one, IMO. -
I'd even consider offensive coordinator, though I think QB coach makes more sense. That simply isn't the way it works these days, which is a shame. The question was asked, "What has Chan done?" The answer is, "In the NFL, one hell of a lot more than Jim has done."

She's also the most versatile comic actor on the show. She seems to be in almost every skit. She's not bad looking either.

Are you all hopped up on Electric Lime? Because you seem like you're all hopped up on some florescent crayon.

It's meant to look like moonshine, and it tastes like grain alcohol, IMO. But it is only 80 proof. To me it's all marketing. There was a time, I believe, when Rebel Yell could only be had south of the Mason Dixon line. But now I have seen it in NY and CA. As I mentioned earlier, it was quite the bargain at Trader Joe's in CA. I wouldn't call it great, but it isn't bad. It was a terrific value at the Joe's price.

He was a Cub's Cub. RIP.

I feel exactly the same way about Williams. I can't help you with a "hair on fire" emoticon. But I can offer you my new avatar.

Very good, Sen. Although from what I have seen, it looks like these guys are working hard at posing, shaking their hair and such. Clearly the person who does the lighting has a tough job and those lights are working their asses off! Our physician has seen them live and said they were quite entertaining (more as a show than a true concert). He has pretty good musical taste and I tend to trust his opinion. I think I'd have to alter my consciousness a bit to get the most out of seeing TSO. That state of mind helped me enjoy (somewhat) a Boston Pops concert with John Williams at the helm.

New NC law makes it illegal to have license plate cover
The Dean replied to boyst's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Yes, an uncovered plate sure takes away from the aesthetic of the truck balls hanging from a typical NC vehicle. -

Do not restart your PC if you are using AVG
The Dean replied to Booster4324's topic in Off the Wall Archives
These links have a recap and links to some solutions: http://securitygarden.blogspot.com/2010/12/avg-update-disaster-impacts-windows.html http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/article/212313/avg_free_update_bricks_64bit_windows_7_pcs.html -
And see how stupid that is? Equating age with smarts is about as dumb as it gets.

Do not restart your PC if you are using AVG
The Dean replied to Booster4324's topic in Off the Wall Archives
This is not an "I told you so", but I have been recommending dumping AVG for some time. With that said, something like this can happen to just about any software. As far as Avast vs Avira (my two favorite free AV programs), Avira is really the only way to go if are on an older PC with limited RAM. I have been using Avast more than I used to on client computers, but noticed it is absolutely killing machines with RAM issues. If you have a newer PC with plenty of RAM, then either should work fine. Avira has a slightly better detection rate, but it is strictly an AV/Antimalware program. It doesn't have an active email scanner, game mode, etc. The free version also has some updating problems and can go days without an update. -
Heart warming story of a 12 year old and his dad
The Dean replied to Beerball's topic in Off the Wall Archives
These douches were probably all cranked up on paraffin-based crayons. Just think, if the father had simply had a couple of puffs off a joint, he'd be too mellow to bash that old man...and in too much of a hurry to get to Burger King! -
Take a look for yourself, Lee goes up and fights for it. THAT was something you said you have NEVER seen. What the DBs did is irrelevant to your statement. Lee fought for the ball: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sxkXH6gZ08 Of course that isn't the only time. Your statements were stupid. Could Lee fight more for some balls? I think the answer is, "Yes". But NEVER? Ridiculous. Those who say Lee won't go over the middle have to answer a few questions: Does Lee break off the pattern when he is asked to go over the middle? Or is it more likely he isn't asked to go over the middle much, as he is more valuable pulling the CB and the S AWAY from the middle of the field to leave it open for the other receivers? If you look at Lee's production with the crap he has had at QB, it should be clear he would be a monster on a team with a good offense and a quality QB.

I think he is too far gone. He can't even stay in character anymore. The best thing we can do is keep crayons away from the children. Support crayon prohibition!

Do you black out during games, or just have a bad memory? I've seen him do both of those things.
-
He hasn't been funny, interesting or intelligent in more than a year. When you gobble up the Hot Magenta, it's bound to take its toll. The fluorescents really toast the brain, from what I am told by medical experts. We all know it, but we've kept it to ourselves. I think that's a mistake. It's time to be honest about this. Crayons has a paraffin monkey on his back.
