  1. We are talking about how well regarded a particular class of college QB's is by scouts and pro teams. Since this particular action happends BEFORE they take one pro snap, anything that happens in the NFL is completely irrelevant to this particular action. Certainly that is how you judge how good the QBs actually were, but not how well regarded they were in college.
  2. Sounds reasonable, but that completely invalidates this: When I specifically go to an advance search and type my inquiry in to the "all these words" box I expect ALL of those words to be on the page. Particularly in the early results. Every mother freaking one of them. I'm not often looking for an exact phrase, but I am usually searching for a very specific combination of terms. There should be a way to let the search engine know I don't want it to use any substitutions, leaps of logic, etc. Now, for me Google remains far and away the best general search engine. But that one thing drives me up the wall.
  3. I would call Sanchez and Eli impact players. I think Stafford will be one as well.
  4. They sure have. Agreed. He has been durable, too. Talented, tough, durable and smart. A combination that's hard to beat.
  5. Not to hijack the thread, but why is it I regularly get results (highly ranked results at that) where some of the words are NOT on the page. Even if I click on the cached version, I often get a word or two are on "pages pointing to this page" or something like that?
  6. My bad about the yardage. But if you think the distance of a run is ONLY about speed, you are mistaken. Luck is ready now. He is the best player in college football, IMO. He can only hurt his draft status by staying in school, as he will be #1 or #2 in the 2011 draft. Of course an NFL lockout changes that thinking.
  7. The food? I'm guessing not as spectacular as the surroundings.
  8. It was a great college play. But thinking this can never happen in the pros is total nonsense. QBs never have 20-yard runs without getting caught? There are NO smaller DBs in the league susceptible to a forearm from a 240 lb QB? Big Ben throws defensive linemen off with one arm. Luck is a total package. He has every QB tool, and all at a high level of proficiency. What makes him special are his intelligence and his toughness. The mere fact that he threw the forearm is what should make him stand out from the others, IMO.
  9. This is pretty much the bottom line, IMO. (Yes, there probably are exceptions to this, but in general this is my philosophy.) I know people who actually get speedy and nervous on depressants and sleep on speed. Individual differences vary the experience in most things in life. I know a few people who simply can't smoke pot without getting weird. My advice to them is, "Don't smoke pot!" I learned the hard way, with a number of ex girlfriends (or dates) telling me they get weird on pot but insisting we try it again together. Why me? I know far more people who get stupid/mean/weird when they drink. "Instant idiot, just add alcohol." But I wouldn't suggest someone not try something they have an interest in trying because it effects some small percentage of people in a negative, but relatively benign way. Shellfish tends to trigger the gout for me. Would I suggest nobody try clams because of my negative experiences? OTOH, if many/most people had problematic experiences, or if the negative experiences tended to be injurious or severe, then I might suggest abstinence, as the negatives far outweigh the positives. That simply isn't the case for smoking pot. Most people tolerate it well and the negatives tend to be transitory. Do some people occasionally experience some mild paranoia? Sure. Big deal. Try hanging out with crack heads and you will see what real paranoia looks like.
  10. Foxit also has a PDF editor for $99, about half the cost of Adobe's.
  11. The only dudes I've know who became paranoid after smoking pot were women.
  12. The helmet is the worst part of the newer unis, IMO. I understand it is supposed to be a streaking bison, but it looks like a bison wearing a red ribbon. It is a design abomination. Since when do streak marks (not those kind of streak marks) look like a solid ribbon? The standing buffalo is a classic design.
  13. Actually Tebow was taken in the 1st round, too. Don't understand it myself, but it happened. Draft position may not reflect how good a player is the NFL (although there probably is a positive correlation to be made). But draft position does reflect how highly thought of the player is coming out of college. Which was my point. This QB class is considered a strong one, and you will see more QBs drafted in the early rounds.
  14. They aren't "my experts" they are the folks who closely follow college QB and report and predict. I won't do your work for you. Check out the scouting sites, the sports press and such. I'm not saying they are right or wrong, but your opinion flies in the face of what I am hearing and reading. IMO last year had ONE legit 1st round QB, Bradford. Everyone else was a project.
  15. Your first go-round with the crayon eater?
  16. Still on page 2 for me. But she would have been mentioned earlier if she was better known.
  17. You may not think it's a strong class, but the prevailing opinion of the "experts" is this QB class is the deepest in many years. Whether it is, or isn't a great class, it is far better than last years crop, IMO.
  18. I have two friends who recently acquired (1 bought, 1 leased) VW CCs. The guy who leased turned in his 3-year old Cadillac CTS. Both of them love the car. I have to admit I was very impressed with how it looks, especially the interior, which is quite slick.
  19. In what is supposed to be a very strong QB class, Luck is the cream of the crop.* He's the closest thing there is to a "can't miss" prospect, IMO. If he is available when the Bills pick, they would be crazy to pass on him, IMO. With that said, I'm not of the opinion the Bills should lose as many games as possible to put themselves in that position. That's silly. (*Should be decide to enter the draft in 2011.)
  20. Hard to not like that.
  21. I hear ya.
  22. I'd make OLB priority 1 and OT (can you really know if an OT will end up being a LT or RT?) and QB priority 2. But hey, that's me.
  23. I think you should add that same link a few more times. (BTW, the first one is screwed up.)
  24. The Bills should use their 1960's uniforms. Simple and elegant.
