  1. Great list. Thanks.
  2. And the next day he was promoted to VP of Human Resources.
  3. Correct. My bad.
  4. The players on the bench are paid as well. Shouldn't they get an opportunity to perform? Doesn't the offense need to work on running plays, as well as passing plays? I think you know how incredibly simplistic your argument is. Do you see the Colts passing to pile on points late in the 4th quarter? Typically you don't, because their HC and their QB have class. Something the Pats* lack.
  5. RIP. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPsnLUaXyxE
  6. What some teams do, when they are far ahead in the 4th quarter, is sub out some of their starters to give other players some game experience. And, they call more conservative plays on offense, so as to eat the clock and not be total douchebags. You can't ask the players to play less hard, but the coach can replace players and call a more conservative game. Why would a coach whose team is winning by 30 points in the 4th quarter dial up blitzes? Why would a coach whose team is up by 30 points leave his starting QB in the game and have him throwing long? One answer to both question: DOUCHEBAG!! It is a sad fact that Brady wasn't completely mauled late in a game while running up the score. He should have been taught a lesson by the opposing D, since his douchy coach doesn't seem to be able to control his team.
  7. Will Vick play all the positions, or just all the offensive positions?
  8. Sports Illustrated (and Real Scouts) would disagree with your evaluation of Whitner. In 2009, they ranked Donte at #9 for ALL Safeties (Strong and Free). I imagine after this year's performance, he might rank even higher: http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/story/2009-05-27/safety-rankings-reed-polamalu-are-pure-playmakers
  9. Mobi Moby Mobe
  10. Touchy, aren't we?
  11. Here ya go.
  12. Soupy Sales!
  13. Actually, most teams rush three and play a soft zone. Very few teams go all out on Brady.
  14. He, like most Bills FAs, will find he can make more elsewhere. Will he make his asking price? Dunno. But he will make more than the Bills first offer. Of course, it is the Bills first offer. With the looking labor issue, I wouldn't get too excited one way or the other, just yet.
  15. That is a different question than what the OP asks. He makes no mention of the year and the record.
  16. I'm with you, CT. I've been preaching this approach for a while. I remember making a similar post way back when, and suggesting the Bills use Hargrove to deliver the (possibly late) blows. Maybe Carrington can do the dirty work this year. Let me be clear, I am not suggesting the Bills try to injure Marcia...just that they hit him HARD, OFTEN and maybe just a bit after the whistle once in a while. Do it early. Eat the penalties in the first part of the game. The key here is to make Brady uncomfortable. Don't let him feel safe, at any point in time, even after the whistle. Defending the Pats* with a soft zone and minimal pass rush simply doesn't make sense to me. Brady gets into that rhythm and he is very tough to stop.
  17. I often had the opportunity to incorporate this event into my tour guide rap during my brief stint in the mid/late 70's. Apparently, some bits of information from the reports of the water diversion from the US Falls, reached plenty of tourons (that's tourist morons) prior to their visit to Niagara Falls. Of course the info got quite garbled in their minds. This led to frequent inquiries along the lines of "When do they turn off the Falls?". Depending on the time and situation, I might answer something like "I think we've got about 15 minutes before they turn it off. We'd better hurry!" Nothing made my day more than the typical response from the touron wife, who would stare at her husband and reply, "SEE, I told you!"
  18. He is inconsistent. I think that's actually part of his charm.
  19. I think if I was just becoming a Bills fan in the past year or two, I would hate the Jets the most. First of all their fans are intolerable. The absolute worst visiting fans in the league, IMO. And their head coach is a pig-focker.
  20. For a (predominately) Strong Safety he is excellent in coverage. He isn't a shut-down corner (virtually no SS's are) but he is just fine in coverage. So good, that he has been used as a FS and even a nickel corner by Bills coaches over the years. I will say he does sometimes have trouble with the bigger and quicker TEs. Fact is, so do most safeties. What you seem to miss is, Whitner typically STONES the receiver right after a catch is made, if it is made. He rarely gives up RAC. Winfield is similar in his CB coverage, BTW. And, like Winfield, Whitner is not the kind of DB that gets a lot of turnovers. If there is a real hole in his game it is that he misses some opportunities for turnovers. Turnovers are big deals, I admit that. But not every player who gets turnovers is a sound defensive player. Byrd is one example. Last year he was often a liability in coverage. He certainly redeemed himself by being in the right place at the right time, and making the big play when it presented itself. Nobody who carefully watches DBs would tell you he was a solid DB, though. He wasn't. Remember Kelso and Shultz when they played Safety for the Bills? They also were good at getting turnovers, but were far from sound every down defensive backs. And let's not underestimate how important tackles are for a defensive player. I remember a game this year where Whitner made three touchdown saving tackles on one drive. Guess what? The opposing team eventually scored a TD on that drive. It wasn't Whitner's fault they eventually scored. But for those who only care about highlight hits, turnovers and such, those tackles weren't even noticed. I think you may have even singled him out as a goat in that game, because he dropped a potential INT. If I'm not mistaken, you also called him out in a game when he had EIGHTEEN tackles (against the Steelers). If I am wrong, I apologize. If you didn't single him out for making EIGHTEEN tackles in one game, then I take back the apology. You always make a point of highlighting any mistake he makes. But rarely do you point out his regular solid efforts. Most of Whitner's tackles come on plays where he isn't the defensive player with the primary responsibility. That means he is pursuing, and mostly it means he actually makes the tackle. This on a team that right now seems to have some tackling issues. I know you will never forgive him for being drafted early in the first round. But that happened years ago. Now you should be looking at him as a Buffalo Bills who is one of the anchors of the defense. Think of it this way. If the Bills had drafted Ngata, then he'd be the guy leaving to FA when his contract is up, and the Bills can hardly afford to lose good linemen.
  21. So, the point is, as intelligent consumers of news (which I hope some of us are) we should recognize this sort of stuff for what it is. It fills the news hole. It isn't wrong/false info. But it isn't "new" either. For a short period of time it moves to the forefront because it is being pushed by those who make $$ off of our fear, and know this is the time of year to make hay with this sort of info.
  22. This reminds me a bit of the scare chain emails that surface this time of year, warning us all of dangerous e-greeting cards and phony UPS and FedEx emails with attachments. The warnings are true, to a degree. There are fake e-greeting cards and there are phony UPS/FedEx emails that deliver infections to your computer. These threats occur more during the holidays than they do at other times of the year. But there isn't really anything new here. One should always be suspect of any attachments they receive via email. And you should be more on-guard during any holiday season. There is really nothing new in these threats from extremists, either, for the most part. But the media, in need of stories, takes the seasonal opportunity to report on things that we should all be aware of every single day of the year. And, opportunists like Neil Livingstone are available to stoke the fear, and garner publicity for himself and his company (I am NOT equating the consequences of a violent attack that takes lives with an attack that compromises your privacy or identity on your computer. I am simply making an analogy about the warnings.)
  23. So, you watch the games and think most of Whitner's tackles come after he screwed up? Really? Wow. You've really gone 'round the bend, Bill.
  24. He's coming from being a psycho. Not much more need to be said, IMO.
