  1. Avast is one of my two favorites. The other I like is Avira. Both are excellent with different strengths and weaknesses. I guess I would say, if you have a slower machine or one with limited RAM, use Avira.
  2. I thought the slash idea actually worked out pretty well for Kordell. The starting QB idea did not.
  3. I think you responded to the wrong post, as that quote isn't from me. But since it is being discussed: Ralph can be, and certainly has been (at times) a tightwad owner. There have also been times when he wasn't so cheap. How effectively he spends is a different subject. By no means is he a "spend whatever it takes to win" owner. That's fairly obvious. It's also fairly obvious he could have made himself much richer, at some point, by moving or selling the team. I'm fairly certain Ralph has bought the remaining tickets on an occasion or two, to ensure a sellout. That's what I was responding to in the above post. And, as I stated, sometimes a local business buys the tickets (that's basically the case this week). Now, as to what Ralph gives up when he buys the tickets, I think you would be surprised. Of course Ralph isn't out the price of the tickets. They don't cost him anything, really. And he can probably write them off, so they may even make him a couple of dollars. But, in meaningless games in December, they may actually hurt the actual attendance/parking/in-game purchases. PLUS, and this is something you may not have considered, he has to pay 40% of the price of those tickets to the NFL pool for visiting teams (visiting teams get 40% of gate receipts. Also, giving tickets away to avoid the deadline, isn't really a sound business practice, in the long run. You can (and I would argue should) do it on a rare occasion, to show good faith/appreciation of the fans. But if it were a regular occurrence it would hurt ticket sales in these kind of games.
  4. Unless the game is a sellout, you may be SOL. To the Internet!
  5. Unless I am confused, I thought your post was about what it being said in LA at this time. And I think you are 100% accurate. That is what is being discussed. What I was pointing out is, for many years I have been reading and hearing "The Stadium IS going to be built in the next X years." "This time it's different. The stadium is moving forward.", etc. It has been a "done deal" (or so they would have us believe) for years. I'm not doubting the uptick in the past year, but I recall upticks in the past as well. And you are correct about the different stadium plans. Certainly there is a chance one, or both will be built. But, like the new Peace Bridge, I'll believe it when I see it.
  6. I think if the Bills are winning by 21 or more and controlling the game, or losing by 21, in the 4th quarter w/no sign of life, they should get Brohm some work. I liked what I saw in Preseason, and think he just may be the next Bills starting QB (if Fitz doesn't have a long run). But Fitz is really still learning to be a starting QB (so far so very good) and needs to keep playing. And the Bills are just starting to learn to win, and really should continue to concentrate on that at the moment. I feel kind of bad for Brohm, but what can you do? Fitz has really stepped up and secured the starting spot. Brohm is in better shape here than in Green Bay, as he doesn't have TWO quality guys in front of him. While I am not totally against picking a QB early in the draft (if the guy is a real stud), I'd be content with Fitz and Brohm going forward.
  7. Thanks for that Syracuse "update". It all sounds vaguely familiar now. Anyone else think the OP might be a troll? Second post. Throws in "Upstate New York". Doesn't return to the thread. I'm not saying he IS a troll. Perhaps he will return this evening. But it is a bit suspicious.
  8. The announcers are listed on that very page (below the map). The Bills get (drumroll........): Kevin Harlan and Solomon Wilcots Really? I really have forgotten so much stuff I used to know. I thought Syracuse was well outside of the blackout area. Well,at least Watertown stations will get the game. They are, without question, "Upstate". As has been mentioned, this week it looks like Albany and Binghamton are getting the Bears/Jests game.
  9. That has to be one freaky dude. Rex Ryan, perhaps?
  10. Hey, I'm good with either. Just don't expect me to eat any crayons. That crap will make you psycho!
  11. I never saw a conclusive shot. I was hoping they would zoom in so we could see if his hands were underneath the ball. That said, I was a bit surprised the challenge flag wasn't thrown. He had it in his hand.
  12. So, you are saying we should take those players off of our radar, right?
  13. Yes he has. In the past, the local TV station may buy the last bit (in order to secure their game advertising) and i think Tops and other businesses have helped out. Hopefully they can get it done for the local fans.
  14. The Inspector Luger bonus! Two of my favorites.
  15. True. Same thing about QBs. Hey, do you own a mirror?
  16. Wes Welker is smaller and slower than Stevie, and he's put up some pretty good numbers. Some would say he dominates in the NFL. Certainly he dominates for what he does. No way does he have "Star Quality". What about a guy like Hines Ward? In his prime, there are few players I would rather have on my team. Star Quality? Hardly. Blue collar all the way. Terrific production, and that's not counting the stuff that doesn't show up in his stats. For the most part this is a fairly useless question, I think. As far as I am concerned, WRs do not dominate, unless they have a QB that throws them the ball.
  17. Honestly, I can't think of one. Jags fans are a joke. Very good synopsis. But for the record, point #1 has been true for the past ten years or so.
  18. Well, I guess it depends where in "Upstate New York" you will be. The term "Upstate New York" doesn't have much utility for things like this as that term is used for about 90% or more of the total area of the state. I'm not trying to be a wise ass here, it's just a very vague term. As you can see from this map, the game will be seen in much of the state. Even if the game is blacked out in Buffalo and the rest of Western New York (that will be decided tomorrow, I believe), you might be able to see it, depending where in "Upstate New York" you will be. EDIT: It looks like you will see the game if you are in an area that gets Syracuse stations, even if it is blacked out in Buffalo.
  19. You'll be dead in a week. Don't worry. I promise to make sure you have a nice RIP thread. And we may even try to get a paver for you.
  20. "Many Christmases ago I went to buy a doll for my son..."
  21. You will find that you may NOT be admitted into Canada w/o a passport. Here's why: http://gocanada.about.com/od/canadatraveloverview/qt/uscitizenborder.htm The US currently requires a passport (or passport equivalent) for US and non-US citizens to return home. http://www.consular.canada.usembassy.gov/passport_requirement.asp Now, as you say, the US must (eventually) let a citizen back into the country, but Canada can (and regularly does) refuse US Citizens w/o passports entrance due to the new US law. How do I know this? Because it has happened to a couple of people I know.
  22. That pretty much confirms it. No?
  23. The implication was he was selling it FOR charity. In other words, the money goes to charity.
  24. Panda's are just big rodents, really.
  25. Still here. Enjoy watching the game with Aussie and the others. Do you think Chan will Run The Ball?
