  2. Yikes that video can't be real could it ?
  3. Let me ask McConnell. Stand by In November 2013, the then-Democratic Senate majority eliminated the filibuster for executive branch nominees and judicial nominees except for Supreme Court nominees, invoking the so-called nuclear option. In April 2017, the Republican Senate majority applied the nuclear option to Supreme Court nominations as well, enabling the nomination of Trump nominee Neil Gorsuch to proceed to a vote. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appointment_and_confirmation_to_the_Supreme_Court_of_the_United_States

  5. Trump: 'The only way we're going to lose this election is if the election is rigged' 08/17/20 07:22 PM EDT Trump made the remark at the end of a speech to supporters in Oshkosh, Wis., on Monday afternoon as he implored them to vote. It follows months of Trump claiming without evidence that widespread mail-in voting during the coronavirus pandemic would invite fraud into the election. https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/512424-trump-the-only-way-we-are-going-to-lose-this-election-is-if-the
  6. She's qualified but would she have received the 60 votes needed before April 2017 nuclear option ?
  7. Just one rule , if Trump wins it's a fair election , if Biden wins it's fraud , let Supreme Court decide election.
  8. Like Don Rickles , I mean Trump
  9. Trump Tells Floridians To Request Mail-In Ballots After Call To ‘Get Rid Of The Ballots’ “Vote-by-mail ballots in my home state of FLORIDA begin going out TODAY! Make sure to request yours, fill it out & send it in,” Trump tweeted, including a link to the mail-in ballot page of the Florida Supervisors of Elections website. 4.7 million. That’s how many mail-in ballots will be sent to Florida voters for the November election, Fort Lauderdale’s Sun Sentinel reported. In all, more than 65.3 million ballots have already been requested by voters nationwide, surpassing 2016 requests in 12 states including Florida. https://www.forbes.com/sites/andrewsolender/2020/09/24/trump-tells-floridians-to-request-mail-in-ballots-after-call-to-get-rid-of-the-ballots/#2423437911e6 It's going to take weeks after the election to count and verify the massive number of mail in votes. Prepare now and be patient
  10. Trump claims White House can overrule FDA's attempt to toughen guidelines for coronavirus vaccine In the meantime, the President's comments are sure to fuel new unease in a vaccine process that was already being greeted with skepticism by many Americans in polls. A lack of trust in the program is a nightmare scenario, public health experts say, since a vaccine is the best hope of eventually ending the pandemic and restoring normal life. https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/23/politics/trump-fda-coronavirus-vaccine/index.html
  11. There won't be a post mark date on the ballots from my house , will use the BOE drop box not bothering the USPS. Take as many weeks to count the mail in ballots after the election as needed. Empty the drop boxes at the end of election voting. Any ballots close to election date should use BOE drop box , their office till closing , or take ballot envelope to USPS and watch it date stamped. They have enough time to get this right after the primary problems are eliminated.
  12. Link ? Trump has sent a record number of conservative judges for the Senate to confirm. He must have tipped the scales by now. Obama had a short window to get his judge picks confirmed In November 2013, Senate Democrats led by Harry Reid used the nuclear option to eliminate the 60-vote rule on executive branch nominations and federal judicial appointments, but not for the Supreme Court. The Republican Party made a net gain of nine U.S. Senate seats in the 2014 elections. Going into the elections, there were 53 Democratic, 45 Republican and 2 independent senators (both of whom caucus with the Democrats). Result 54 republican Senators In April 2017, the Republican Senate majority applied the nuclear option to Supreme Court nominations as well, enabling the nomination of Trump nominee Neil Gorsuch to proceed to a vote. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appointment_and_confirmation_to_the_Supreme_Court_of_the_United_States
  13. Both sides will make darn sure there is no fraud , too much at stake . The SC needs to allow as much time as needed to count and certify all mail in ballots. I don't expect a result till Dec
  14. But many Americans also filed for benefits under the government's other programs, such as Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, which Congress created in the wake of the crisis to help those not eligible for regular jobless benefits including the self-employed. Another 630,080 Americans filed for PUA benefits last week. Adding PUA claims and unadjusted regular first-time claims together, nearly 1.5 million people applied for government benefits last week. https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/24/economy/unemployment-benefits-coronavirus/index.html
  15. Israel enters full 16-day lockdown on Friday The government approved at dawn on Thursday, Sept. 24, a full national lockdown to rein in the soaring coronavirus contagion starting Friday, Sept. 25 up to Oct.11. Closure is to be universally applied, excepting only for people employed in essential services. The extreme measure, advocated by PM Binyamin Netanyahu when the number of new cases a day climbed past 7,000 and serious cases to 657, was finally endorsed by Defense Minister Benny Gantz who acknowledged there was no option. Overnight, there were another 10 deaths raising the total to 1,375. In the end, prayer services and demonstrations alike are be restricted alike to 20 participants outdoors. Both chief rabbis ordered the closure of synagogues even on Yom Kippur the holiest day of the Jewish year, as well as the subsequent Succoth festival, for the sake of saving lives. Anti-government protesters will be confined like the rest of the population to within 1km of their homes, thereby breaking up the unruly, mass outbreaks taking place weekly outside the prime minister’s residence in Jerusalem. The international airport will be closed to outgoing flights. Food stores and pharmacies will stay open, while all other retail trade is shuttered like the schools. Public transport will be limited. After 16 days, the state of covid-19 infection will be assessed to determine if the lockdown is to be extended or lightened in careful stages, https://www.debka.com/israel-enters-full-16-day-lockdown-on-friday/
  16. With a record number of mail in ballots the final results will be delayed. A lot of ballots could be disallowed due to mistakes and challenges. I would hope the SC gives it time to sort out and not stop the count like 2000.
  17. Bernie Sanders plans news conference on Trump's 'threats' to democracy Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., announced Wednesday he plans to hold a news conference Thursday regarding what he described as President Trump's “threats” to democracy in the presidential election. “This is what an authoritarian sounds like,” Sanders said of Trump’s Wednesday comments that he would have to “see what happens” with the election before committing to a peaceful transfer of power. Sanders tweeted he would give an address on the “unprecedented and dangerous moment we are in right now given President Trump’s unique threats to our democracy” at 1 p.m. ET Thursday. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/bernie-sanders-plans-news-conference-on-trumps-threats-to-democracy
  18. Whoever convinced the Chiefs to trade up for Mahomes is worth his weight in gold . Saying that, I'm now convinced Allen is a franchise QB , before this season I was only hopeful.
  19. Easy choice , Bills win SB 🙂
  20. Do you think Obama took Biden's advice ? I did not vote for President in 2016 , nor will I in 2020. The next Congress will need to do a lot better whoever the next President is.
  21. You can accomplish a lot more as President then a Senator with 1 vote out of a 100 to be fair.
  22. Interesting advice for Biden : Debate coach: The best debate advice Joe Biden will ever get To be successful, Biden's going to have to win a "street debate." My teams have encountered more than our share of Trump "style" debaters, and there's only one way to effectively win against them.Control the room. To simplify, it means don't get lost in the weeds of specific arguments. Instead, emphasize attitude. Stand up to Trump. Be assertive. Be aggressive. Be big. In coaching debate and teaching interpersonal communication, there are lessons on how to counter an overbearing opponent such as Trump. And it's as simple as this: If you aren't aggressive back at them (but in your own way), you'll get steamrolled. In those first Republican debates of the 2016 election, for example, national debate champion Ted Cruz was no match for Trump. The best part, and my second style tip for Biden: Quotes. Use Trump's own words against him during the debate. Quote him liberally. In Trump's fun house world, there's always a tweet or previous statement where he contradicts himself. After all, as he can remind Trump, "Those aren't my words. Those words were spoken by YOU." https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/23/opinions/debate-advice-for-biden-graham/index.html
  23. To be honest if Biden won he would inherit a major mess and take the blame. Record unemployment that will not fully recover due to business bankruptcies due to covid. The massive deficits for federal , state and local the last two has to balance there budget meaning more layoffs . I have never seen such enthusiastic support as Trump has in my lifetime which is rather long. Biden has too much money for his campaign at this point , he should use it to try and flip the Senate to moderate what Trump could do in a second term. I have never seen the country so bitterly divided as now , that cannot end well. jmo
  24. Also Richie , the Raider tradition is back with Chucky , and they looked darned good last night against a good team.
  25. If either the Senate or WH flips 3 Nov the lame ducks can vote as they want till end of Dec as far as I know. With a highly partisan climate all is fair. I would prefer bipartisan honorable Statesmen , that's just fiction in todays world.
