Excellent data find, thanks. We need both players to stay to make any progress from here out. T Jax $1.75 million looks a lot better then 4.5 early report. Get Fitz down to $4 million plus good incentives if he delivers or cut him now. Stop letting good players walk .

Will Bills have a poor record in 2013 ?
ALF replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we don't re-sign Levitre , Byrd and restructure Fitz contract, then we are back to square one yet again. -
There are two types of franchise tag designations: the exclusive rights franchise tag, and non-exclusive rights franchise tag: An "exclusive" franchise player must be offered a one-year contract for an amount no less than the average of the top five salaries at the player's position as of a date in April of the current year in which the tag will apply, or 120 percent of the player's previous year's salary, whichever is greater. Exclusive franchise players cannot negotiate with other teams. The player's team has all the negotiating rights to the exclusive player. A "non-exclusive" franchise player must be offered a one-year contract for an amount no less than the average of the top five salaries at the player's position for the previous year, or 120 percent of the player's previous year's salary, whichever is less. A non-exclusive franchise player may negotiate with other NFL teams, but if he signs an offer sheet from another team, the original team has a right to match the terms of that offer, or if it does not match the offer and thus loses the player, is entitled to receive two first-round draft pick as compensation. Under the Capped years a team can designate one additional player only as a transitional tag. A transition player must be offered a minimum of the average of the top 10 salaries of the prior season at the player's position or 120 percent of the player's prior year's salary, whichever is greater. A transition player designation gives the club a first-refusal right to match within seven days an offer sheet given to the player by another club after his contract expires. If the club matches, it retains the player. If it does not match, it receives no compensation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franchise_tag

Never let Levitre walk. If the price is too high , match his best offer then trade him for a 1st rd pick at least.
-
Fitz is worth $3 million a year , T Jax $1.5 million , not $15 million for both. Until they prove otherwise. Sign Levitre and Byrd and pick up FA's
-
Almost $15 million for fitz and jackson, I'am out
-
Go all out for a QB in 2014 unless we get A. Smith for a 2nd rd this year.
-
with Fitz, T Jax and a 2nd round rookie all fighting it out...... we will draft in the Top 5 next year..... this
-
Fitz has to restructure with good incentives or is cut. Thigpen should be cut, draft a qb 2nd or 3rd rd or try for A. Smith.

Gil Brandt of NFL.com evaluates College QBs by Numbers

Interesting take by Gil Brandt. We should use Ron Jaworski to consult on avail QB's. -
Fitz had the 3rd highest wonderlic score in history, 48. He just dosen't have the arm to get it there.http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1130834-nfl-draft-2012-the-5-best-and-the-5-worst-wonderlic-scores-in-nfl-history another good list of QB scores http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/football/nfl/03/24/wonderlic-test/index.html

As long as we don't use our 1 st round pick for him.

This article made be think better of Crossman http://www.buffalobi...6b-149b68c386b8 Bills special teams coach Danny Crossman made plays during his time as a player. In his pro career he had one of his best days in one of his biggest games with three interceptions in the inaugural World Bowl in 1991. He and Bills head coach Doug Marrone were teammates on the World League’s first championship team, the London Monarchs. Crossman was named the game’s MVP. Now Crossman is immersed in evaluating the talent he’ll have at his disposal with Buffalo’s special teams units and is looking for a few MVPs of his own.

Stevie Johnson doesn't workout in the offseason
ALF replied to ET1062's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The bills need to hire Don Beebe as a coach . " In 1998, Beebe founded House of Speed, LLC,[4] a company that specializes in training athletes in the essentials of top performance, speed and character. House of Speed began franchise operations in 2006 and has locations in eleven states. Beebe also works with several professional, collegiate and amateur sports organizations in the area of speed, including the Chicago Bears, the St. Louis Rams, the University of Illinois Fighting Illini and Club Fusion Volleyball." While a bill he use to keep working to improve his speed. We would'nt want Stevie to get winded if we get a QB who could throw like the bad bomber Daryle Lamonica -
Alex Smith might be easier to get than expected
ALF replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Be nice if we could trade Fitz with a restructured contract to be SF backup. Other teams will bid up the offer for Smith. -
Mario $16 million a year, we could only do it with a straight up trade. Revis also wants $16 mill, no room for excellent players rest of roster, creates player friction.

Lewis spoof on SNL http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1503674-ray-lewis-video-watch-ravens-star-spoofed-on-snl -
He wants $16 million a year next contract, thats why the Jets are trying to trade him before he's a FA. That's too much when we are paying Mario a big salary. If we want a CB draft one for a lot less. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1500855-jets-owner-woody-johnson-reportedly-thinks-darrelle-revis-wont-stay-with-team
-
Take best available , but has to be 100% sure thing. When draft is over try to trade for a needed position.
-
Jets have the right idea to trade him before he becomes a FA." Despite the knee injury, he could seek more than $16 million per year " Sign Levitre and Byrd instead.
-
Excellent start to the analytics way , I like it.
