Football, unlike other sports, is very much a system fit league. there have been many examples of all pro level players on one team, goes to another and is crap. 3 of the players were older veterans that cost too much. i would have kept Hughes fir a low 1 yr just fir being a long veteran. I don’t know if they offered him a low contract and he declined wanting instead to start/ play more somewhere else. next off season there will be some more roster changes including changes at starters. in this era of 4 yr to free agency you get roster turnover, especial with starters/ regular personnel.

The calls are inadmissible in criminal/ civil court. Califotnia is a two party stste. if no warrant was issued for the recordings to occur and they get released by her attorney then she and her lawyer can get sued. The police can never release that recording or put it in the public record. if they do and they did not have a warrant it was illegally obtained evidence and they will be subject to ethics/ legal violations

She went to get a rape kit done within 48 hours of the incident. i do not know if she went to the police first. some stories say she did then the told her to get a rape kit done. If a rape kit is done at a hospital they are required to notify the police. Then the police would follow up with her after notification of the rape kit.

California is a 2 party state that means both sides must allow their recording. If one did not then it is inadmissible in criminal/ civil court. him having sex with her….let’s assume it’s true….it’s not an illegal act if he thought she was 18 and sober. It becomes a he said/ she said. we do not know if he ebpven was the voice being recorded. Has anyone e er answered your phone or talked on your phone?

If the DA has dna from the rape, thry likely would have obtained samp,es and did tests finding matches. if they don’t have dna as evidence, and her known to be passed out/ drunk, they will need situation evidence of who went in the room with her. thry likely told them they did not have an evidence based case on Matt unless someone cam forward and says he was there…of which sworn statements by some said he wasn’t even at the house. he gets cut she and the lawyer can be sued for ruining his career.

Duh hes not taking this case unless there is money…. him being a pro athlete or coming from a wealthy family. most civil cases end in civil settlement will go away money. He tried thst first. a more credible case is if criminal charges come then followed by a civil case. When civil come first …it says there is a flimsy case so it’s a choice of do you settle for X or sre you willing to pay Y for your legal fee+ possible decision against you.

over 30 years ago I worked as a cashier/clerk in rite aid. i re all one day they tried to do a cigarette selling to minor ring conducted by the police. A kid about 12 come in wanting to buy cigarettes for her grandpa. In back of her I see a shopper behaving oddly where they appear to be looking fir the correct isle a product is on. Most customers are near the aisle end. She was 10 feet back from that. Thrn a few minutes later sge come up saying I’ll buy it for her. I recognize sre as a cop in my jurisdiction so I know what’s up. if this customer was obviously older and buying cigarettes or alcohol and I proof them before selling I can’t be charged….even if the ID was fake.

Filing a civil lawsuit against someone knowing he wasn’t involved is something that can cause a lawyer to lose their license
