  1. I will just go with the best I've seen do it and who comes to mind when I think of the position: QB: No response because i don't like the answer. But he's head and shoulders above anyone playing in this era or the last. RB: Every time Barry Sanders ran the ball i held my breath. It was amazing to watch. He won't go down as the best ever because he retired early, played on a bad team, had a lot of negative plays, and comparatively was right there in many ways with Emmitt and Thurman, but he was the most fun to watch. Walter Payton was the smoothest and Jim Brown was the toughest. Depends on what style you prefer. WR: Randy Moss is a freak. Jerry Rice had the best career but Moss is just a whole other level of athlete. He could have been pro in a number of sports and was a freak. Best to do it imo. DE: Bruce is probably the 2nd best of all time which is amazing that he played for our team. Reggie White was the best though. But Bruce stands out as a pure athlete who had power, size, strength, speed. LB: Lawrence Taylor is the prototypical LB and a mean sob. One of the best players in the NFL during his era. S: Ronnie Lott. Ed Reed is up there but Lott had absolutely no regard for his body and would light receivers up. It would be a flag in today's game but back then it was fun to watch. CB: Darelle Revis was an absolute lock down corner for about 5-6 yrs where you couldn't even throw his way. Prime Time comes to mind but he refused to tackle and he was all about the fame. Tough call.
  2. put anyone on a team with the best defense in the NFL and they will win games. they made it that far because of a busted play at the end, they would have been 1 and done. they showed the following week they didnt belong. he's not a bad QB, he's a very average to below average QB. he will surely be looking for big bucks based on 1 season with one of the best teams in the NFL. he doesn't deserve it. that would be no different than us giving Fitz the big contract back in the day. 1 good season does not make you good all of a sudden
  3. Keenum has 1 total outlier season otherwise very comparable to Fitz or other journeyman type QB's like McCown. Might as well get one of them, they will be half the price
  4. if he wants more money they will funnel it into TB12. trust me, he makes way more than Jimmy G no matter what the contracts say
  5. he will be really good...in the XFL. him vs Johnny Football in the championship in 2020
  6. This is the year to get a QB. Next year will be like the EJ Manuel QB class. It is amazing that we took a 1st round QB in the 2 best QB drafts of all time (1983 and 2004) and the worst QB draft of all time (2013). This year could go down as another one of the best and next year one of the worst. It will be interesting to see which draft they take a QB in.
  7. if they played 10 times it would be 29 games total for the season. everyone would be injured
  8. time to retire imo. he will hurt his legacy if he keeps playing
  9. you could have a topic like "what would you rather do with a $25k inheritance check?: 1) spend it on a brand new car or 2) put it into a mutual fund that earns 6% interest but you can't touch it until retirement" most dummies would buy a sports car. that's why people are broke. they want instant gratification.
  10. interesting tactic used by 49ers to get him to sign. sending him to Lackawana to get some meatballs with Beane. i bet that deal got done quick after that. "sign this or you will spend the next decade of your life in wny"
  11. Adam Schefter‏Verified account @AdamSchefter FollowingFollowing @AdamSchefter More Credit to both @rajmathai and @MikeGarafolo, who have reported 49ers have deal in place with QB Jimmy Garoppolo; seems like only a matter of time. High-ranking 49ers' official texted: "Still working on it. Not done yet."
  12. when was the last time we picked a QB top 5? oh, never?? hmm that's weird that we have only had 1 good QB in our entire history. i wonder why
  13. I'd rather be drinking at the victory celebration parade after winning the Super Bowl! looks like fun
  14. I don't see Foles at the victory parade. someone check Air Pegula to see if it made a stop in Philly
  15. he must not have liked the meatballs in Lackawanna
  16. Mike Garafolo‏Verified account @MikeGarafolo FollowFollow @MikeGarafolo More The 49ers and QB Jimmy Garoppolo have agreed to a five-year, $137.5 million contract, source says. The biggest deal in NFL history on a average-per-year basis.
  17. Jimmy signed by 49ers Raj Mathai‏Verified account @rajmathai FollowFollow @rajmathai More #EXCLUSIVE: #49ers have reached agreement w/ Jimmy Garoppolo. Will be highest paid player in #NFL. Announcement soon to come.
  18. Give a man a fish and he eats for a night. Give a man a franchise QB and he eats for a lifetime. Or something like that
  19. News from last week. Things change. If they were close it would be done by now
  20. That's why they would want a trade partner set in stone. Thus the 3 team trade
  21. We will see! Both polarizing players
  22. instability has plagued us throughout the drought. it's a big issue to lose your entire defensive coaching staff this late in the process
  23. what typically happens is the DC takes his assistants with him and our entire defensive coaching staff would be gutted and everyone given promotions in Indy. once again, another season with a new offensive and defensive coaching staff. super late in the process to need to be adding new coaches false. we have had success on offense and defense. we just haven't been able to put it all together
  24. Despite their success, NE has had the most stability of anywhere I've ever seen as we just saw with McDaniels staying
