What was Ralph Wilson’s “Cash To The Cap” about?
K D replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The new philosophy is the "Dead Cap Cash." Basically, you wait for a new regime to come in every few years and trade away all of the previous players and absorb the dead cap costs. -
CFL Rights Claimed For Mayfield & Jackson
K D replied to OldTimeAFLGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Haha basically betting on them being NFL busts -
That's from Chris Trappasso. He's a Bills fan from Rochester that has for whatever reason had Rudolph as his #1 overall prospect for like a year now. He's either nuts or he's a genius. Time will tell. Most people have Rudolph as the #6-7 QB and not even a first rounder so take it with a grain of salt

Hall of Famer and Buffalo Bills Wall of Famer Bill Polian has been in the headlines recently for some head scratching comments. Old Bill might be losing it and it might be best for him to call it a career. - Bill's take on 6'3" Lamar Jackson is that he's too short to play QB: https://deadspin.com/bill-polian-thinks-tall-person-lamar-jackson-is-too-sho-1823155003 - Bill says Nick Foles is so valuable as a backup that the Eagles shouldn't listen to any offers that don't start with 2x 1st round picks and 2x 2nd round picks: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/02/20/bill-polians-take-on-nick-foles-gives-the-lie-to-his-past-claims-about-tom-brady/ - Bill continues to make the claim that he was the only person that knew Tom Brady was great and had a 1st round grade on him, yet proceeded to not draft him even when he "fell" to the 6th round: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/bill-polian-claims-that-he-had-a-first-round-grade-on-tom-brady-before-2000-draft/

Bills fire Randy "Woody" Ribbeck after 35 years
K D replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
he mixed the whites with the coloreds when he was washing the jock straps -
i hate when guys get drafted because of their combine workout. yet when they put the pads on they stink. combine should just be another tool used to evaluate in addition to tape, interviews, meetings, measurements, etc

LCB Marcus Peters "may not be long" for Kansas City.

Could Cleveland do what San Diego did in 2004?
K D replied to Dkollidas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There doesn't seem to be a consensus on who the best QB is in this class. From what I have seen, there's 4 top guys and then there's everyone else. Different teams covet different players out of those top 4. Browns seems most interested in Darnold, Allen, and Mayfield. Bills seem most interested in Darnold, Allen, Rosen. The top guy is going to be whoever the Browns think is the top guy and I think whoever picks next will be very happy with who they get from the other 3. I have Rosen as far and away the best of the bunch but as has been pointed out, he has some injury and attitude concerns. He may or may not have a long successful career but I think he is going to be the best QB when healthy and on the field. But you can make an argument for any of the top 4 guys. Allen is the most gifted, Mayfield is going to leave it all on the field, Darnold is just a very nice player overall but not great at any one thing. Everyone is going to be waiting to see who the Browns take at 1 and then from there we will see if any teams have 1 of the other 3 high enough on their board to trade up to get one. that would be awesome...if you are the Browns, but not good for us! I want 1 of the 4 but I don't want the Browns holding them for ransom. they really could afford to keep both players on the roster if nobody is willing to trade their entire draft to get one. then from there see who is the starter and then trade the other guy next year. sneaky sneaky -
This Rosen rumor is too well publicized now. It makes me think it must be a diversion unfortunately. We haven't had info like this leak with the new regime so it seems rather fishy. My guess is the Bills want people to think they want Rosen because they really want Josh Allen or another player. They are hoping someone moves up and grabs Rosen so the other guys fall farther down the board. They have a much better shot at getting into the top 10 than the top 5. Makes me sad. Josh Allen looks like the next Kyle Boller. Good fastball, no touch, terrible accuracy. You don't suddenly get more accurate once you get to the NFL that's for sure.

NFL’s Next Gen stats: Bills had 2nd best OL in 2017
K D replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It feels worse when the QB holds the ball longer than anyone in the entire league -
Drafting a QB is a multi year process. You have time to build around them. You are shooting for 3 yrs out. You draft other positions and then draft a QB then by the time the QB is good everyone is a free agent. How many of our draft picks from 3 yrs ago are still on the team? Man I can't believe I have to explain this to people. We have done the same stupid thing for 20 yrs. Get a top QB and worry about the rest later

The Bills NEED to go all in on getting Saquan Barkley
K D replied to SAFTB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Barkley is the best player in the draft no doubt, but when does having the best RB win you games? Lol nice try though -
Brian Daboll is the key to who we draft IMO
K D replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What makes you think Daboll knows what a QB looks like? He's never had one -
I think it might take 2 trades to get into the top 5. Nobody with a top pick wants to drop that far down the draft board. Both of our 1sts might get us to 8-10. Then from there trade that pick plus another pick and a player with someone in the top 5. I think that is why you are hearing about the Bills calling around trying to get into top 10. If they really do want to eventually get to pick 2 I think the Giants will still want to remain in the top 10 if possible.

They already tried building a team without a QB. Please refer to seasons 1997-2017. Didn't work. Get a QB.

Rumor: Shady on the Trade Block
K D replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This website is obviously bogus but I heard the Bills really are asking for a 1st or 2nd for McCoy and a 3rd for Glenn. They almost had a deal worked out last year for Glenn but it was nixed by McD . They are asking a lot for Tyrod based on his low salary but I doubt they get it. They are also shopping Lawson but I didn't hear how much they are asking. At least Beane is doing his due diligence and being proactive even if he doesn't find any takers. At least teams will know the Bills are open for business. Hopefully somehow this can result in a top 5 pick in the draft where we can get one of the top 3 QB's. This is the year to make some moves. -
What if they move up and take..a LB? McD wants a Keuchly type for his defense. I might be officially done with this team if that were the case. I don't really like any other sports so I hope that's not the case. Has to be a QB. Don't move up for anyone but a QB. It's such an obvious thing that I can't believe I have to even say it. QB QB QB. Who is on their draft board? Who cares, get a QB. Do we care who is on the Pats draft board? No, they have a QB and everyone else is just the supporting cast. This is the year to get the QB. Get one of the top guys. DO IT! Don't post a million threads about should they or shouldn't they. They have to. There are probably 3-4 long term franchise QB's and they will cost a fraction of what a mediocre veteran will over the next 5 yrs. DO IT BEANE!!

Why I would be happy with Lamar Jackson
K D replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jackson is really flying under the radar. I don't hear anyone talking about him as one of the top guys. Vick, RG3, VY were picks 1, 2, 3 in their respective drafts. Jackson is right there with them talent wise. I think teams are shying away from mobile passers. They don't last in the NFL. Maybe you can get a couple of good years from them but they have proven to not be long term success stories at the next level. I could see Jackson having some success but I could also see him not even being in the league anymore in 7 yrs. He is surely as capable as Tyrod though and for much cheaper
