  1. Well, I guess in the next stadium design the overall cost can be reduced by not having any seats / bleachers installed. Ha!
  2. I did read both links. My questions is definition of when one can stand? Only in critical situations or when there is an exciting play (the deep pass was given as an example)? Not at all? What if you have to go to get a beer or go to the rest room? Do you have to raise your hand and ask for permission. That's the rub with this. How do you define the "spirit" of the rule?
  3. Article about airline travel in Columbus paper noted these sites to compare fares. • Farecompare.com • Bestfares.com • Airfarewatchdog.com • Smartertravel.com
  4. I second this comment. The intent is there, just how does one enforce this when hundreds or thousands stand up at one time?
  5. KBF - Wife and I booked our Sept trip to France back in Jan (approx $800). I logged the trip into Yapta to track the airfare in case it went down. Of course, we know how that has played out (currently $1100). I have found that Orbitz and Travelocity are pretty comprehensive in their searches. I compare them to a couple of airline sites directly just to have a sanity check. Just by chance you might want to check eBay.
  6. Thanks for the heads up - will look for it. We too are staying in an apartment in the St Germain area.
  7. Well, here is your opportunity. Wifey and I go the last week in Sept. Have an apartment rented in St Germain des Pres. Have at least 1 half day trip planned to Giverny. After that, free form. Bring me your best.
  8. Looks great. Reminds me of my grandfather's island on Lake Nippissing. Here, saving the nickels and dimes to go to Paris in Sept.
  9. Reminds me of the adage: Be careful of what you ask for - you might get it.
  10. Short term health insurance
  11. It didn't take them long to put their hands out looking for public assistance.
  12. Rocco gave it a good run. Good play by both guys.
  13. Here is a site to check the next time that the Shuttle is docked with the ISS. Saw it go by 3 times this week just by plain eyesight. www.heavens-above.com
  14. God speed Samson. My Tex is not far behind you. Find the treat jar for her. "If there are no dogs in Heaven, then when I die I want to go where they went." Will Rogers
  15. It might take some time to take that plunge again. In the meantime, a great casue that is close to my heart. Canine Companions for Independence
  16. C'bus tv station did a small feature story on him last night. Reporter said that he looks good physically (standing still). His attitude was that the injury made him a better person / football player. At 28 and out of the mix for 2 years I'd give him a call.
  17. My grandfather had a cottage on an island in Lake Nippissing ON. No running water, electricity, telephone. The outhouse was standard procedure. Made you appreciate the everyday things that are taken for granted. The fishing was great and the views at night outstanding.
  18. Not far from Rochester. Glen Iris Inn
  19. Brings to mind the proposal in the UK to have a disclaimer on auto advertising to warn that use of a gas powered vehicle can endanged the environment.
  20. My brother-in-law has a second home in Isleworth and I've passed Tiger a couple of times on the grounds and believe me I wouldn't call him a wuss or a puss. He could hold his own.
  21. One would think that the WNY weather would allow for starting / reseeding during the summer. 88 is still very warm for getting the new seeds to germinate and properly watered. The new blades of grass are very thin, thus are very susceptable to stress. Watering a lot at this time can induce diseases as well. I have done the slit seeding thing as well, but I don't buzz cut the grass. I might cut the height in half. That way the new grass has a small amount of cover to keep it cool and moist. Don't forget to run the slit seeder in both directions for proper coverage. If the area that is patchy and dry is small enough, sod is a great way to get it fixed in a hurry. Again, just make sure that it is properly watered. I've become a proponent of core aeration as well. Once a year - in the spring.
  22. One thought in hindsight, why not ask the BIL if you could ride along to the store and when you get there pick up the tab for some beers / wine with dinner? He might open up and help the cause with sis.
  23. Carryovers from the SITC premier last night?
  24. How long does one think that this will become another of Goodell's "pet projects" towards the players?
  25. Checking the gamecast on espn.com. Tell me that this does not go into a shootout if extra time is used up.
