  3. Just the opposite. I would be in one in a heartbeat.
  4. 5. I think I know they spent a stratospheric $75 million on three non-Pro Bowl offensive linemen, but at the end of the day, the Bills now have a rising-star left tackle in Jason Peters, and two above-average guys in Langston Walker and Dockery, both of whom have quick feet and good power. Offensive line coach Jim McNally was a strong advocate of signing them both, with former McNally pupil Jason Whittle thrown in for the NFL minimum as insurance. "Could we be wrong about [Dockery and Walker]? Yeah, we could,'' coach Dick Jauron said. "But they're big men with long arms and good feet who play hard. Looking at our team, and our young quarterback [J.P. Losman], we knew we had to protect him, and the best way to do that is to improve an area of our team that needed upgrading.''

Said that it missed where they live by 1/2 mile. He did laugh a bit nervously. Some friends of theirs didn't fair quite so well. House is marked - possibly condemned. WHEW!!
  20. Remembered this little clip from the the Columbus Dispatch: The Bengals must decide whether to try and re-sign offensive lineman Eric Steinbach, but team officials know it will cost them to bring him back. With the salary cap increasing, most teams will have money to spend and some figure to throw big offers Steinbach's way. Plus, Cincinnati's situation is complicated by offensive tackle Levi Jones' bad knees. Jones has missed nine weeks and said he is going to Los Angeles to see a doctor, who might recommend surgery. If Cincinnati re-signs Steinbach and Jones returns, what will the Bengals do with Andrew Whitworth, a second-round draft pick who's worthy of starting? But if the Bengals don't re-sign Steinbach, that means they are counting on Jones. For that reason, what the Bengals do with Steinbach should be a good indication of how they feel about Jones' status -- although it's still possible Steinbach will decide to leave. Steinbach likes Cincinnati, but he has done everything the Bengals have asked, is finishing up his rookie deal and apparently would like to cash in big if he can. Even if the Bengals are worried about Jones' status, it's uncertain they will be the team offering the most money.

  22. My only question is, of which someone did ask and you did not provide a real answer, have you really taken some time to determine why you want to stop part way through? Must be somethng bigger than don't like personalities, don't like details.
  23. Member of Bowmansville VFD at that time. Stuck at station for 4 days. Slept on the hose bed of one of the engines. Wound up walking home with my Dad who came back from the city. That was as far as he got. At the intersection of Pleasant View and Harris Hill I could touch the signal light. The FD had approx 450 people bunkered in in the banquet hall. Wound up breaking into a Wonder bread truck stuck on the Thruway to get some supplies.
  24. Reminds me of the Jesse Helms comment, “We should build a fence around Chapel Hill to keep the fruits and nuts in.”
  25. Unfortunately, these were probably honey bees where the queen has died or moved. Could have been moved more safely had they made a few phone calls.
