The End of the Nathan Peterman Era...
What a Tuel replied to KingRex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tyrod Taylors drives in the 1st half were: PUNT 3 and out 1:40 drive PUNT 5 and out 2:55 drive TD 8 plays 3:16 PUNT 6 and out 3:35 drive TURNOVER 8 and fumble 2:23 drive If you think that equals success in the NFL then , but I don't. QBs lead sustained drives. I like Tyrod, and at this moment he gives us the best chance to win, but he needs to extend drives. Let's go to the 2nd half, only down 3 points, still in the game and we get the ball to start the half! PUNT 3 and out 1:21 drive PUNT 3 and out 1:20 drive PUNT 3 and out 1:30 drive FUMBLE 4 and out 1:44 drive FUMBLE 5 and out 1:35 drive TURNOVER ON DOWNS 3 and out 0:52 drive TD 10 plays 2:26 drive TD 7 plays 1:41 drive -
Do NY State Income Taxes Hurt the Bills?
What a Tuel replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When they argue that blue states pay in more to the federal government than they get in return, does that include SALT taxes that neither get paid in nor taken out? I never see that clarified, but the Federal government doesn't give that money to the states. They simply don't collect it from tax payers. -

He absolutely did deserve benching and a wake up call. The run game suffers when they know Tyrod won't throw the ball. And no, he did not do well in the Jets game. Constant 3 and outs. He only kicked it up a notch in the 4th quarter when the game was out of reach which buffed his stats. -

Once again this is revisionist history. This game did not have serious playoff implications at the time. The Chargers were 3-6, and would likely need to go at least 6-1 rest of year in order to be considered for the playoffs. They achieved that, but it was not at all likely. -
You are right, not really a prediction, but I was more comparing it to formulas of that type that rate teams based on their perceived skill level based on previous statistics which I often find to be inaccurate when it comes down to actually playing the game which ultimately change the statistics you use to formulate your original opinion of skill level.

True that. I didn't say that. I just meant that Tyrod's stats in the 2nd half aren't really indicative of a true competition. Chargers were probably giving up all kinds of stuff in the middle of the field just to keep the clock moving and go home. -

Chargers were up by like 30 at that point. They weren't worried about a come back. -

Simmer down people. This isn't BBMB. Attack the argument not the poster. -

Our defense in the Bengals game took the ball away 3 times, and had a punt return to the Cin 12 yard line. That game was ours for the taking, but Tyrod could not make it happen, and then threw the game ending pick. The entire second half offense had like a net total of 50 yards. Now I am not saying sticking with Taylor now is a bad thing. I am saying that this view of Tyrod beating the Chargers because he is Tyrod is unrealistic. -

BS. We could be a legit 11-5 had Tyrod been the Tyrod you all think he is against the Bengals and Jets. -

No. That is your perception because that is what it boiled down to. The fact is our record vs the Ravens and the corresponding calculations that got us into the playoffs were a result of the ENTIRE season. Not just the perceived "hail mary" at the end because that's what you last remember. -

No, I believe the Ravens would have beat the Chargers based on a better conference record. Chargers needed a Titans loss PLUS: A Bills loss OR Ravens win Edit: Bottom line is nothing happened the way they needed it to. Its just strange to hear them complaining since the Jaguars game ended I believe right before the Bills game or shortly after and the Ravens game was still going. So how the Jaguars were manipulating playoff spots seems sketchy and unlikely. -
There was some clickbait article out there about the Patriots putting thermometers in the Jets tunnel and behind the Jets bench to remind them how cold it is outside. Kind of silly.

Good, I love when opposing fans are over confident. Sets it up for an upset. On another note, it was strange to see the Chargers fan in there talking trash about how the "Jaguars lost to pick their playoff opponent". Chargers weren't making it because of the Ravens loss or alternatively Bills win. Not bc of the Jaguars loss. -

Then its "incidental contact" or "they just got tangled up!" -
McDermott gets his 5 years. That's a lock at this point.

While I was for the move against the Chargers, that was when we were on a two game slide bringing us to 5-4 with 7 games left including 3 tough games against KC and NE. Playing against a 3-6 Chargers team in a temp stadium with a lackluster fanbase seemed like a good point to start Peterman and try to get something going. I still think that was a good move without the hindsight that the Chargers might actually be good (dominant pass rush), and Peterman would lose confidence and weapons so early. However to start him against Miami would've been silly in such a critical game. In his limited opportunities has not proven he can be better than Tyrod, and Tyrod handled the Dolphins just fine 2 weeks ago.

Anyone know where their forums reside? I keep coming up with generic ones. I'd like to see what their thoughts on us are. -
To be fair, I believe he is trolling with this topic. The guy was very against starting Peterman and is a fan of Tyrod, so to start a thread saying to start Peterman in our first playoff game is purely trolling and trying to get a rise out of people.
