  1. Agreed. It's like we move from player to player and act as if our team is too good for said player. It's obnoxious. Trading Spiller is a bad idea, and releasing him next year isn't great either, I do not want to see him on another team, god forbid a division rival who may utilize him properly and make us sorry.
  2. Was that before or after we moved up to pick up a new number 1 receiver? If you watched any of the draft day videos, they weren't completely sure they would get Watkins until Cleveland called them back minutes before their pick. Prior to the draft Stevie Johnson was our #1 receiver and a huge part of our team. What part was false? Edit: I just realized that if Whaley would have said what you wanted him to say "CJ Spiller is a part of this team and will play a big role with this club",(using different words of couse) you wouldn't have believed him anyway.
  3. You are creating a conspiracy out of nothing. (By you, I mean everyone in this thread who thinks this is some double speak) Whaley specifically said: "Again, no one, I'll tell you guys and you know I'm a straight shooter," Whaley said. "We have not been contacted by any teams. I can probably see where people see our depth at running back and try to connect the dots with teams that don't have depth, but, again, nobody has contacted us." Do you really think Whaley meant "Look guys, I am a straight shooter, we haven't been contacted by any teams, and trade rumors are news to me, but little do you guys know, I am lying and I am secretly calling up teams myself and shopping Spiller"
  4. Why are you abandoning the entire context of the news reports saying Chip Kelly was inquiring about spiller etc. That is what this article was referring to, news that teams were inquiring about Spiller. Then you create a conspiracy theory because Whaley didn't address himself contacting other teams? That wasn't the news, nor was it the question!
  5. Geez, people need to get off of Wilsons n***..... He was a better pick than Graham obviously, but Seattle had him starting backup to Flynn if you remember, Despite what people claim, most did not "know" he was going to be a decent qb, and the jury is still out if he is going to be a great qb. Also who does Seattle have to backup Wilson? Jackson and Pryor? Why didn't they draft someone "just in case" to develop and stuff? Its a whole bunch of what ifs and its obnoxious. For every Russell Wilson we could've picked up "as a diamond in the rough" there are a few other QBs we could have wasted picked on too. Just because you witnessed one (russell wilson), or two (tom brady) does not mean we should start wasting draft picks hoping to find one as well.
  6. That article seems to be very misinformed and inaccurate. Fairly certain "One pegula would need to own the sabres, and the other pegula would need to own the bills" isn't accurate. Or "f the NFL didn’t try to stop the Bills from playing games in Toronto for the past six years (there won’t be a Bills game played in Toronto this year), the league has little legal ground to stop the team from moving to Toronto. " Didn't read the rest of it because of the above.
  7. And so it begins again with a different player. Same made up BS. Why do Bills fans do this? Maybe its any fan base, but it always seems like Bills fans are mentally preparing to be passed over by every player and their mother.
  8. Sounds logical to me. Let's hope Pegula's supposed 1.3 billion holds strong. I think I am just going to put my head in the ground (yeah right) until october when they will likely confirm whoever it is. 2 short months...meanwhile we have football to keep us occupied.
  9. Who exactly is out there that you guys wouldn't be complaining about if we had him? Bridgewater? The guy that is likely sitting (like a rookie should be) his first year? Bortles, who is also likely sitting? Heresy! They are first round picks, and they are there to kick ass, take names, and chew bubblegum! We have a complex where we seem to believe that our current players will never be enough. I know, I know, a 14 year playoff drought will do that to you, but that doesn't mean it isn't annoying. Edit: Come to think of it, we could have Peyton Manning, and I bet there would be our share of Eeyore's going "Yeah we gave up next years 1st round pick! what if Manning retires next year!" I agree. Let the guy breathe, there will be plenty of time for hatred, bashing, venting, etc if he doesn't work out. He is getting a try whether you like it or not, so we should all be throwing our support behind him rather than edging him off of a cliff.
  10. Who is talking about them owing me anything? We are football fans craving knowledge about our favorite team, you guys need to lighten up.
  11. I think people would just be happy with more information pertaining to if he is going to be able to play or not. Aside from his well being, no one really cares what he has beyond that. Something, anything, better than letting rumors fly that this may jeopardize his season.
  12. You know, I saw this come through on my phone a couple days ago, and started to flip out. Then after I minute, I said it's probably nothing. Then today I come to TBD and have you guys scare the crap out of me. Privacy is privacy but I would love to know wtf is going on.
  13. He also won at least one game winning catch in the Carolina game. But that one doesn't count, blown coverage amiright? It wouldn't bother me if a team like the Jaguars picked him up, but a yearly playoff contender saw value in him, so obviously his value isn't limited to "drops and antics". I have noticed fans like to emotionally play down losses of good players, and play up gains of good players on the team which leads to these kinds of debates. That is why we are fans, way too emotional to objectively look at situations.
  14. Don't get me wrong I am too! It's going to be a great season!
  15. I don't remember when Woods got injured but in the 3 games he started that Stevie was not playing, he caught 6 catches for 106 yards total. That isn't to say that Woods is bad or incapable of outproducing Stevie, it is saying maybe we should have waited before ditiching our best receiver for very young players, and Mike Williams
  16. This is my fear. I am sure Williams will make the team, but if he does turn out to be a headcase, or his production isn't there and we decide not to go with him next year, I feel like our WR core will be a little light especially when injuries come into play. Granted our receiver core could turn out to be superstars, I believe they could, but i wish we would have waited a bit before ditching him.
  17. Yeah. I think the point is that by enforcing the rules (catching the cheater), you send a message (literally and figuratively) to all the other teams that this won't be tolerated. I am not sure what the alternative action would be? Ignoring it? Severity of the punishment can be discussed, but no one thinks if it really was against the rules, there shouldn't be repercussions here? Do they?
  18. Isn't the point that sweeping this cheating under the rug makes the playing field uneven. One coach follows the rules, and doesn't send his players offseason workout advice (or whatever) One coach says screw the rules, and sends his players offseason workout advice (or whatever) If the rule isn't a "big deal" then it should be disposed of, but until then they should be followed as if every coach is following them, because some do, and following the rules should not be a disadvantage to you.
  19. wasnt too hard on him. showed he can throw the long ball when he correctly makes his reads
  20. I don't know the Watkins family's financial situation prior to him being drafted, but a jump to 12 million dollars....there's a lot I could do with 12 million dollars.
  21. Which AFC team will take a significant step backward? (i.e. Houston from 12-4 in 2012 to 2-14 in 2013) Kansas City Chiefs Which NFC team will take a significant step backward? (i.e. Atlanta from 13-3 in 2012 to 4-12 in 2013) Philadelphia Eagles Which AFC team will take a significant step forward? (i.e. KC from 12-4 in 2012 to 11-5 in 2013) Buffalo Bills Which NFC team will take a significant step forward? (i.e. Carolina from 7-9 in 2012 to 12-4 in 2013) Chicago Bears Division Winners: AFC East Buffalo Bills AFC North Cincinatti Begals AFC South Indianapolis Colts AFC West Denver Broncos NFC East Washington Redskins NFC North Chicago Bears NFC South New Orleans Saints NFC West San Francisco 49ers Superbowl matchup Buffalo vs Chicago Superbowl winner Obviously Buffalo
  22. That has been my theory with the rumors (and near confirmation, it will be next season) of playoff expansion, it would make sense to add a couple teams (I didn't think about 4, but 2) at the same time so the playoffs aren't watered down too much. As for the diluting of players, there are so many teams that just don't have the space to keep and develop good players. Adding "424" players would certainly make it so that teams would have to put more into developing their players than just acquiring "elite" players.
  23. Watkins will start no doubt about it. I wouldn't set our hopes/dreams on him having a huge season though. I think Woods beats him in yards this year at least. I am not looking forward to the inevitable hate for the pick when he doesn't have 1,500 yards and 15 tds though.
  24. Lynch had 650 carries at 2601 yards 17 tds in 3 years Spiller had 516 carries at 2738 yards 12 tds in 3 years I know you really want to rail on Spiller not starting that first year but geez. Oh well. Agree to disagree. Go Bills!
