It's because people have short memories. Murray is the flavor of the year. Last year McCoy was.
McCoy
2009 16g 637yds 4tds 4.1avg
2010 15g 1080yds 7tds 5.2avg
2011 15g 1309yds 17tds 4.8avg
2012 12g 840yds 2tds 4.2avg
2013 16g 1607yds 9tds 5.1avg
2014 16g 1319yds 5tds 4.2avg
Murray
2011 13g 897yds 2tds 5.5avg
2012 10g 663yds 4tds 4.1avg
2013 14g 1121yds 9tds 5.2avg
2014 16g 1845yds 13tds 4.7avg
Both are incredible backs, but I like McCoy better based on this. Time will tell though.
Murray has 600 less touches because he has been injured so often each year. More often than McCoy. It was a huge issue with Murray prior to his career year in 2014. People have short memories.
And Julius Thomas 109 rec - 1282 yards - 12 tds (3 years)
Now why don't we take a deeper look into what these guys do rather than just compare stats with no context.
without him you'd have Ebron and a first round pick at let's say #10. Let's have it on the table who you would pick at #10 so we have something besides hindsight for you to ramble about. Then we will come back after the season and see just how right you are.
Good point. Still wouldn't it be a risk that Clay would say no? Then they'd have to cut him or be stuck with the cap hit. signing bonus would probably make him say yes though. You are right.
Oh yep sorry it has the with rookie total above the without rookie total haha. Still they have options this year. Year 2 would be the hell year for them
Spotrac shows them with 7 million in cap space. With the 7 million they have tied into clay right now, and if they plan to cut Ellerbe, then we need to make year two painful as all hell, not year one. No way we out cap them this year
Not sure if this is a inside joke or not, but Pegula and Rex picked up Clay in Florida and flew him back to Buffalo on Pegulas private jet to tour facilities and look for a place to live.
Yeah I was just having a bit of fun . As long as the FO doesn't go crazy I think he will be an excellent aquisitions. If they are out to pay a crazy amount just to get him away from the Dolphins then I'm not liking it as much.
I would be against anything more than about 2.25 times as much. Chandler is making 3 million almost this year. I agree it would be crazy to pay clay 12 million
I think it would help if he would be more clear about what is his opinion and what is information.
I think that is why Matter was treated better generally overall. He clearly stated what he heard, take it or leave it, and then clearly stated his opinion on that information.
If he still wants to play, and this front office doesn't think he is up to par (I think they are wrong), then let him play for another team, and when he is ready, pay him to retire as a Bill
We don't though and we should be using that cap money to make the rest of the team capable of overcoming our deficiency at QB, rather than pretending there is one out there just waiting for us to pick him up. With the top qbs all on their way out, our franchise QB will come from the draft with a 4 year rookie contract.
What is the issue with the cap? Are you saying you are right that the cap space will get smaller as we start signing/re-signing guys? I would think no one would disagree with that.
I think their argument is that the Bills have the amount of cap space to make those moves and be just fine. So far they aren't wrong...
