NFL.com post draft snap grades
What a Tuel replied to PlayoffsPlease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is a whole lot of draft hype and over speculation this time of year. I know some people were trying to call this WR class similar to last years. I take all of this with a grain of salt until I see the impact on the field. We will see if these WR's have as much impact as last years did. They won't. I think this extends to the other positions as well. -
This is also an overlooked benefit of freddy. Fred Jackson had: 14 games - 1026 total yards and 3 tds in 2014 16 games - 1277 total yards and 10 tds in 2013 Some might see that as a regression. I think the red zone especially was more an indication of how awful and inept our offense was as a whole, and less a sign of Freddy regressing.

Because he has 1 year on his contract, and he has deep roots within the community and the team. He still produces, and out produces all of the RB's that were on the team last year. He led the team in first downs, and his second effort are likely one of the reasons we went 9-7 (We know for sure in 1 game at the very least) There is no valid reason to cut him. Until we go to training camp and Bryce Brown, Karlos Williams, or Boobie Dixon perform demonstrably better, why would you cut him? You need to have a better reason besides saying "he is old". Yes he is old, but he still performs, and he still has a major presence in the locker room. If you honor the end of a players contract that may push another player to consider signing long term as well. I know it's business, but cutting a team leader to save cap for the sake of saving cap would be pretty disrespectful to me if I was a player watching the situation unfold. Show me (or his teammates) a player Whaley and co aren't signing because of Fred Jackson, and maybe they will see the light, but at this point people are arguing to cut him simply to cut him and it is absurd. To summarize, show people a valid reason for cutting him, and people may understand. But at this point the argument is to cut him because "it"s time" and thats BS in my opinion.

Ok thanks for doing this! If it comes down to what I asked for and none, I'll take less! Some are better than none! Don't want to be greedy. -
I thought we disproved this in another thread? Does a new thread mean we can rehash the same false equivalencies and baseless arguments? If you are attacking the cap number, let me know who we aren't signing because of Fred's 2.7 million dollar cap hit
-
Common theme in both clips is Fred making things happen when we need him to. He made a mistake that time, but doesn't do it often.
-
I know this is your opinion, but please back it up with a little substance or fact. Jackson and Watkins were second only to the defense in reasons the bills went 9-7. Fred was getting it done all year long with 49 first downs and over 1000 total yards.

Serious About Drafting Bryce Petty?
What a Tuel replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No team has patience to let someone sit anymore when they don't have a viable option at QB. The pressure of the unknown QB that could be discovered if only "they just played him" is going to be too great for the Jets especially. Unless Fitz has some awesome games, and transforms into a starting QB, they will throw Petty in at some point either this year or after parting with Geno, or Fitz next offseason, they will put him out there in 2016. I do wish we would have kept Fitz despite the price instead of picking up glass kolb to fill the gap while Manuel sits. -

My biggest problem is that the Redskins passed him up. I think the whole round would've went differently had they not. I can't believe the Saints, Browns, and Vikings all passed up picking Parker too. -
Was the trade for Watkins worth it?

What was wrong with Watkins stats last year? Seemed pretty good to me, nearly a 1,000 yard season in his rookie year. As for next year? Are you saying he won't do as good? Better? the Same? Better will make him outstanding, and I can't see him getting worse. The same? Maybe, but I think it's doubtful, we will see though. -
Niners getting new alternates? Figured I would throw this in here rather than clutter with a new thread. I'm not sure I like them. Black is great and all but when has it ever been associated with the Niners?

Geez, I thought that post was sarcastic. Wouldn't trade up for Jerry Rice? Wow. -

I think there is a myth out there that good QB's don't need good WR's. There is something to be said about your QB making your WR's better but decent QB's also tend to suffer without good WR's. Any QB is better with Sammy Watkins out there than without. Bills fans seem to have ADD when talking about QB's. They give up and move on to the next prospect as soon as the current one doesn't pass the eye test. The Bills are setting up their "project" QB's to succeed even though you already gave up on them. Until a better QB avails himself, this is exactly what they should be doing. They are also certainly keeping their eyes open for another QB. -

I think the answer is in your post. He managed put up great numbers for a rookie, and did it under a deficient qb, and an offensive coach that used him as a "decoy". He was also hampered a bit by injuries, but that is also an excuse. I'm reiterating what you said, so I think you agree, but 982 yards 6 tds is nothing to sneeze at under those conditions. I also look forward to seeing an amazing year from him! -

It isn't kool aid. Watkins is a great and talented WR and we went up to get him. Odell Beckhams talent has no impact on that, and if anyone would have suspected such talent, we might have traded up for beckham. Either way we trade up for a WR. You can't have it both ways. You can't allow the Bills to be the only team that saw Beckham as the best WR in the draft, and still draft him at 9. It only works like that in hindsight. That said, the book has not even closed yet, on who will be the best WR in that draft. -

I originally asked for 5-6, if I could get 9 that would be awesome. 6 is doable but some people would be disappointed but that's life. For clarity Me Cousin #1 Cousin #2 Cousin #3 Cousin #3's Wife Brother #1 Brother #1's GF Brother #2 Nephew -
Ah ha. Thank you! It was kind of driving me nuts. Wow, I guess I didn't know my Super Bowl history as well as I thought. I didn't know the Dolphins went to 3 in a row. I guess the perfect season kind of overshadowed it for me.

I don't have time to find the exact stats, but I read somewhere that Rex Ryan has the best win percentage against Belichick of any coach, and the games he loses are very close games. So yes, he has a losing record against Belichick, but he puts up the biggest fight, and with crappy teams as of late to boot.

Out of my own curiousity, can someone tell me why there is at least one gold plated game every week on nfl.com? Is there a chance to go to the chocolate factory if I buy a ticket?
