  1. Are you including his read option in him being elite? Since when is 3,500 yds passing 20tds 7ints elite? Luck - 4,700 yds passing 40 tds 16 ints Rodgers - 4,300 yds passing 38 tds 5 ints Brees - 4,900 yds passing 33 tds 17 ints P Manning - 4,700 yds passing 39 tds 15 ints Roethlisberger - 4,900 yds passing 32 tds 9 ints Ryan - 4,700 yds passing 28 tds 14 ints E Manning - 4,400 yds passing 30 tds 14 ints Rivers - 4,300 yds passing 31 tds 18 ints Tannehill - 4,000 yds passing 27 tds 12 ints Brady - 4,100 yds passing 33 tds 9 ints At what point do we consider his passing to be average among the good QB's but not elite? If you want to include his rushing stats in his passing stats go for it. They still don't eclipse the top 7 QBS in total yards or TD's. And before you consider passing attempts, consider what you just said and replace it with "Pete Carroll was not particularly confident in the Hawks' passing game during the regular season."
  2. I just caught the second half of this movie on tv a few weeks ago. Had no idea it was based on a current player. Maybe Sandra Bullock needs to get out there and boss him around a bit to motivate him.
  3. Wow the Dolphins had $22 million in dead cap this year. Crazy.
  4. A lot of people do not count the Seahawks as they consider Wilson a top QB. I think he is a good QB, I just think he is the worst of the best. So yeah, I'd say the Seahawks started it first. Of course we would be fantastic with a QB like Russell Wilson, but we'd be even better with a Roethlisberger, Rodgers, Luck etc. Just being better than what we have shouldn't elevate Russell Wilson's "elite" status.
  5. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/rushing/year/2013 Looks like Jackson was 4.3 and Spiller was 4.6. They combined (890+933) for 1,823 total rushing yards. Manuel and Choice amongst a few others rounded up the rest of the 2,307 total rushing yards. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/buf/2013.htm In 2012 we were 6th in rushing with 2,207 total rushing yards. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/rushing/year/2012 In 2014? 25th with 1,482 yards. Spiller getting injured didn't help, or Fred for that matter, but our offense was so bad in all aspects last year. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/rushing
  6. My parents also passed one down to me. I have a 1991 Championship Season bottle. We share the same hope to sometime soon!
  7. A lot of people overreacted last year when we saw the preseason with our own eyes. There were quite a few "winless for winston", and "3 wins tops" projections out there. While our offense was horrid, as was reported, we still overcame it. We just gotta be patient and take this stuff with a grain of salt. There isn't much we can really do about the QBs at this point.
  8. There is this misleading tweet going around with the media interjecting their "educated" opinion on the matter. That doesn't help the panic though. I have had a number of people telling me we are doomed because of it. https://twitter.com/viccarucci/status/608702411859980288 I also hear WGR was tearing the QB situation a new one. I didn't hear it myself though.
  9. Yeah it would be nice to hear better news out of OTA's. On the bright side like others have mentioned, with such a stacked team, we can probably trade up in the draft next year, and take another stab at a QB.
  10. Questioning making the playoffs is on the same level as doomed for me. I expect nothing less this year. Maybe that's dumb of me, but I'd rather wait and watch them play the games. The point I have been trying to make is that Orton was not exactly a capable QB last year. He played ok for a couple games, but like i have said before we also won in spite of him. Just imagine Orton with a revamped O line, a top 3 rb, a real TE, and a real offensive coordinator, and that doesn't give you hope? It really isn't ALL about the QB. Offensively a lot of it is, but those pieces sure help them out and they didn't have that last year.
  11. Haha, no. We won in spite of him sometimes. I look forward to seeing Manuel year 3, or Cassel though, because with such changes to our offense, and new coaching, I don't believe either QB will make our offense as stagnant as it was. If anything it will be slightly better which might push us over the hump this year. We are not doomed.
  12. So we can only win games if the QB plays well. We have never won games when Orton sucked last year? Sure there will be games that are given away (KC), but it balances out by our defense winning games (GB) under poor QB play.
  13. What? There was one team in the league last year that didn't make the playoffs at 10-6, and that was NFC. People are so negative sometimes. At 10-6 we likely would have made it.
  14. That's a whole lot of negativity. Brady without Gronk? Sure I'll give you that handicap. Brady not caring about winning in the first half when we controlled the game? I don't believe that for a second. A lot of the confusion is that they won the AFC South so why not add another AFC South banner? I would think that would be more reputable but to each their own. Setting up a motivational tool in the field house is not like hanging a banner for an achievement that doesn't necessarily mean much. In the end it is just how they do it. Like how the Lions count playoff appearances.
  15. It is amazing isn't it? I am dead set on taking my 15 year old nephew to the home opener. While he is a bills fan, I always have to remember he hasn't been alive for a playoff run by the Bills, and likely doesn't remember a single year (besides last year) that we could honestly say we were great. I am so hoping this will be the beginning of the end of that for him.
  16. Man this is tough. People are price gouging like crazy already. Anyone with experience know if it will simmer down in the coming months? Right now I see minimum $120+ for 300 sections for home opener. Kinda ridiculous but yeah supply/demand.
  17. That's a gut wrenching poll.
  18. It says seasons are still available for purchase, it confuses me if games 1-3 are sold out, then how can season tickets still be available? I am just curious how it works.
  19. Do you not understand that this wouldn't have been such a huge issue if Brady would have tackled the issue head on instead of acting like an idiot going "I dunno that is shocking! " He tried to play everyone for a fool, and so naturally everyone will tear him down for it.
  20. I'm not saying you are outraged, but people clearly are. I still would like to know if anyone knows exactly what was paid for then. Do we know if they paid for the airtime so that there wasn't a commercial during the ceremony? Do we know how much went to signs promoting the military? How much went to ads on BuffaloBills.com? Did they simply pay for the right to walk on the field at certain points? Did the Military have to bring their own football field sized flag? Did the Military have to make signs for tens of thousands of fans that will all line up to make a "Thank You" or "USA" in the crowd? Yes all of that costs money. People don't work for free. Maybe I can get mad at the NFL for not pushing the money away and saying "no this one is on us", but not until I know all of the facts on what was paid for. In the end, unless we ask for volunteers to do the legwork, it costs money either way, and until it is proven otherwise, I am not so sure it was simply net profit for the owners. Yes it is an honor. Just like it is an honor to sing the national anthem before the games. It is also an ad for young people thinking about the military, and it is also to refresh in peoples minds that these people are out there defending our freedoms. These aren't mutually exclusive things.
  21. I'm still not getting the outrage. Is it that the government spent money on this? Or that the NFL charged them? Do people actually know what the money was spent on? Someone quoted on the front page that some of the Buffalo Bills money went to signage, and stuff on the BuffaloBills.com website. Either way, just because you didn't know it was sponsored by the military doesn't change anything. It just means you were fooled into thinking the Buffalo Bills (or NFL) were being super patriotic. That shouldn't make a difference in your regard for the Military or what it meant to you. I thought it was tasteful thing to see. These people deserve to be honored for their service even if it is sponsored by their bosses.
  22. I am not sure that I would call this a cash cow. $5 million in 4 years between 14 teams? "The United States Department of Defense paid the National Football League more than $5 million in taxpayer money between 2011 to 2014 to honor U.S. soldiers and veterans at games, an investigation revealed this week." "The investigation revealed the Atlanta Falcons collected just over a million dollars, the most cash for any team, and the Green Bay Packers received the single largest payment of $400,000.00" "In New Jersey, the Defense Department and the New Jersey Army National Guard paid the New York Jets a total of $377,000 during the four-year period, according to the federal contracts"
