Defensive stats (for losers) are improving
peterpan replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I gotta agree. Part of me wants these guys gone but at the same time I think a real QB back there and maybe a competant LB and next year we can compete with these coaches. -
Hey Chan, don't throw this blueprint away
peterpan replied to Martimus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who cares. If Gailey had done this in other games we would be over .500 -
Im going to say Alex Smith because he has played well the last two years and there isnt a day one starter at QB in this draft. If we want to compete for the playoffs next year, then we need to ditch Fitz and can't rely or a rookie.

I'd love to know what Buddy was thinking with this kid. If he was 6'2'' or more he would have been a top 5 pick. Did he take him off the board simply bc he was short?
-
Good point. But I thought he looked goo, he had some good pass break ups and the PI call on his was BS too. Actually he did start. He was at LCB on the very first defensive snap and played the entire first series. McKelvin didnt go down untill returning a punt. I dont recall if the Bills were on O or D first but regardless he techinically did start.

Carrington...very nice game today.
peterpan replied to Spiderweb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Carrington has been playing great all season. I think its time he gets more reps. He has earned them. Whats an arm shoulder? Yep, said the same thing. -
Fitz Over/Under 30 pass attempts win loss record
peterpan replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We won the game yesterday because we stuck to the run. We were down in the 2nd Q and continued to run it. it was 17-10 at half and we continued to run it. One drive was all fred jax with one pass and then some spiller and we pulled away. If we are down we need to run if we are ahead we need to run Hopefully chan has figured it out bc most fans did over 20 games ago. -
Doesnt that mean we need to get an average QB?

I truly feel horrible for Ryan Fitzpatrick.

I stopped reading here because it is freaking hilarious that you believe that. -
[I suggest a trade for] Alex Smith
peterpan replied to djsabres's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nassib is a real NFL contender. He can read a defense well and has the tools. If our QBs in 2013 were Alex Smith, and then Nassib and Gleanon in the draft, I would love it. EDIT: I would add in that TCU QB who got suspended for a DUI. add him undrafted and see what hes got. -

[I suggest a trade for] Alex Smith
peterpan replied to djsabres's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That was the ALex Smith of 2008. Alex Smith had a new OC every single year of his career until Harbaugh. He is a totally different player now having been under Harbaugh. Its not uncommon for the light to go on for a player (drew Brees comes to mind) and I think it came on for Smith. -
Huh? I didn't compare Luck or RG3 to those guys? We couldn't have drafted them? the guys I listed are guys Buddy passed on, that also turned out to be pretty good. Ponder has looked great this year - have you seen any Vikings games? Well worth the #3 pick considering he is a QB. Besides, we could do that trading back thing too. What does this have to do with posters? My comment was about Nix. Your other point about Ryan Falling into the Falcons lap - thats my point. Ponder, Dalton, and R Wilson fell into Buddys lap in the 1st 2nd and 3rd rounds respectively and he passed, each time. A GM like the Falcons guy DIDN'T pass. You kinda confused me with your response.....
-
I don't agree. Nix started here in 2010. Since then he has passed on Dalton, Ponder, and R. Wilson just to name a few. All of those guys have been playing well, and are better than the players we took instead of them. So, is Buddy, A) Not seriously looking to draft ANY QB, or B) a bad GM that can't identify a good QB when one is available. Unfortunately if the answer is A, then that makes him a bad GM too.

If you think you hate the Patriots now, listen to this...
peterpan replied to bbb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Im pretty sure I saw a copy of that newscast where Jim is doing shovel passes to Thurman, with a reporter in the foreground. It was on some ESPN Documentary about the Cowboys. But the patsies still cheated. Everyone knows it. And it was very serious stuff too, not the fluff Gooddell tried to makes us belive. You don't destroy evidence if you don't want to hide something. Just ask Nixon. IMO, the Patsies wouldn't have won a single SB without cheating, and all their wins deserve big fat **** -
Rolando McClain (update - released by Raiders)
peterpan replied to FutureBillsGM's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Color me crazy but to be a stud MLB in this league you have to be able to run sideline to sideline. Ray Lewis said he dropped over 20 pounds from his SB season to today in order to keep up with the speed of todays games. P Willis is a stud because he can run with anyone. Guys like McClain/Curry/Hawk/Poz are bigger guys who cannot cover as well because they aren't athletic freaks. They aren't going to be superstars. T'eo is great in college but without a sub 4.5 forty or some crazy cone drill time, which would certify his athleticism for the pro level, he will likely not live up to his top 5 draft status. He will still be a good solid player, but not a Willis. There is nothing wrong with McClain or Teo being solid and not superstars. Bring in Rondo, he can't make us any worse. PS - my HC canidate is Tom Cable, and I believe he was there when they drafted MCClain! -
Rolando McClain (update - released by Raiders)
peterpan replied to FutureBillsGM's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Raiders are like us. They release good players that then go to good teams and continue to be good while the Bills claim they aren't good or were too old to keep (Leonard/Hargrove/Greer/Lankster/Fletcher/Winfield/Big Pat) -
Thats where guys like McShay predicted Ponder would go too. McShay might as well be blind considering how good he is at projecting QB. This is the guy that had Andre Woodson as the #1 overall pick a few years back. He went in the 6th round and was out of the league two years later.

I like Nassib too, he is pretty good. So is that Gleanon guy. -
Can we see what we have in TJ? [Tarvaris Jackson]
peterpan replied to Clockwork's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is so hilarious. Fitz misses wide open go routes. Those aren't hard to read. We beat the colts if he could hit some wide open WRs. -
Its the same story every week, every seasons. What else do you expect them to write about? There is nothign new to write about.

Random Bills fact of the day...

I think its sucks bc no one wants to go to meaningless home games in Decemeber. = less sell outs. -
Bills currently drafting 8th
peterpan replied to mitchmurraydowntown's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
FWIW In the last NC state game I saw, the one announcer thought Glennon would be the 2nd QB off the board, before Barkley but behind Smith. He thought with workouts it was possible that he works his way ahead of Smith. and is the very first QB taken. From what I have seen of all these QBs (which isn't much) I think he could be the 1st QB taken. My point is he wont last to the 4th, maybe we could get him in the 2nd round, but not the 4th. Are we sure that we are teh first 4-7 team that will be drafting? We alwasy seem to be the last one to draft (of the teams with tied records)?
