  1. I doubt it. We have GW who is a stud and Burd who is very good and have solid backups.
  2. Why do some people think it will be hard for a rookie LT to come in and play right away? OL is one of the easiest transitions. Joe Thomas, Jake Long, The LT from Denver whose name I cant think of right now, They all came in and started from day 1. Same with Wood and Levitre, and as we saw with Hairston, even if they dont start they can play well for you. It will be easier to get PT out of an OLman than WR or CB thats for sure
  3. I guess its all perception. Weren't nix's comments that he thought two or three guys could start for you day one, and that a few later round guys could be starters in a year or two? That Naworski guy had Glenn at the front end of his 1B slot per the teams he talked to. That would put Glenn in the front end of the 11-22 range. I get the feeling Glenn is the guy Buddy likes, because he is SEC, has proto type size, and the starts (50).
  4. Im not so sure about the 'key contributer Johnny White' He could be off the roster this year. But that Justin Rodgers was a REAL find. I have high expectations from him.
  5. my friend told me that too (what mayock said). he is worth it if thats true.
  6. If this is how it pans out this is my mock: 1- D DeCastro G 2- J Martin OT 3- B Irvin LB, but would like to trade up for Sanu WR or even Adams T 4a- J Crick DL 4b- R Wilson QB 5a- T Streeter WR 5b- N Potter LT 6- T Carder LB 7a- M Maze WR 7b - a kicker/punter
  7. Vontaze Burfect But in all honesty the way that Tank Carder is always around the ball, he must be a smart film junkie type, like Shep
  8. The strength of this class seems to be DT. Do we go that direction even though we have two of the best in the game?
  9. I don't think the Bills will add a TE because we dont use them often but I would love to add Fleener in the 2nd. He is a good blocker and has size, could be a poor mans Gronk for us. I would gladly drop Sanu in my mock for Fleener, and add a guy like T Streeter from Miami in the 4th if he lasts that long. Maybe a slight trade back in the 1`st can net us an extra pick to make it more realistic? -Decastro -Fleener -Carder -Streeter -Wilson Then take Burfict in the 7th just because lol.
  10. I'd take him in the 3rd and consider him the steal of the draft. The Mock I threw together, thats when I took him.
  11. ??? how so? That is beside the point. The Bills reached at that pick, everyone said so on draft day, and it came back to bite us. You could substitute Maybin in there as well.
  12. Last year Pouncy went to Miami at 15. This year, DeCastro is rated much higher, and the overall talent at the top of this draft is far inferior to last years - a total stud like JJ Watt went 11th last year just for a reference. DeCastro may not even make it to our pick.
  13. What do you guys say about the Troup pick then? I think you guys are only looking at half the situation, ie you are assuming the player picked turns out to be good, but what if he turns out to be bad? Troupe was a huge reach to fill a need on draft day, Kiper had him as a 4th rounder I think, and I bet we would have been able to draft him in the 3rd round, 4th round, or maybe even 5th round. Troup has been a player much much worse than the other players drafted around him at other posititons, like B Spikes, Gronkowski, L Houston, etc etc etc. Even Cam Thomas who was drafted 2 rounds later at the same position has out performed Troup. SO what was thought to be a reach pick on draft day ended up being very true. We lost out on better players at different positions, which ironcially now we have needs at those positions. The difference in those players abilties and Troup's ability are very very real and not just 'invented commodities used to add drama to draft day'
  14. I never read buffalo rumblings because the content is so putrid 98% of the time. Yall know its no different than bleacher report right?
  15. Well I've never done one so here it goes....First off I would try and resign D Bell on the cheap. I think he knows he won’t be going anywhere else. If he won’t sign, I bet later in the year or half way through camp we could sign a solid vet LT that gets cut from another team. This is a depth move as I think it will be Hairston’s job to lose. ROUND 1 – D Decastro, G Stanford - In the top ten I want to take the guy who has a legit shot at 10 straight pro bowls and the HOF. I don’t care what position it is, and that player is Decastro (if Kalil falls OK, but he won’t). Luckily for us we need to solidify the OL, and I do believe G is a need. Urbik and Rinehart are on one year RFA tenders, and Levitre’s deal is up next offseason -- our top 3 Gs are set to be free agents. Also, we only have two Ts on the roster (Hairston/Pears). Drafting a G allows Levitre to be the backup swing tackle, Urbik has also played T and could play on the right, and will be the primary backup at both G spots. DeCastro can play C if Wood struggles to come back from injury or is injured again. We now have great depth all along the OL, and could realistically sustain two major injuries along the OL without being hurt much, AND we get the BPA. Considering there is likely no value at other positions this is a no brainer, unless you dont believe G is an important position. ROUND 2 – M Sanu, WR Rutgers - I think Sanu is under rated in the draft, and I believe he is a player that will be more valuable to the Bills offense than other teams offenses. Chan relies on short quick passes, so WRs need to have good hands and be able to run after the catch for bigger gains. Sanu is a better runner than a lot of running backs in this draft, there is a highlight vid of him running the wild cat and you will get the idea, the dude can play. He also catches everything near him. He is faster than his 40 times too. With the strength of the WR class I could see Sanu falling out of the 1st and to our relatively early 2nd round pick. ROUND 3 - T Carder, LB TCU - This guy just makes plays, point blank, ArmChair GM had him going in the 6th, I dont know where he will go but I think he is great value here. He is a lot like Sheppard in a sense because he is always around the football, making up in smarts for what he may lack athletically. He has the size of an NFL LBer, and is very long, which I think will help him keep blockers off of him when he shifts outside for us, and he has the height to compete for balls with Gronk. Playing a lot of spread teams he has been forced to play a lot in space, although I don’t know how much he will be asked to do that at the next level. Looking at some online prospect rankings I was surprised to see him ranked behind so many others. I think he is a steal at this point, and judging by those rankings, he will be here. ROUND 4 – R Wilson, QB Wisconsin - This guy is a top 10 pick with a few inches of height. I think he is a far better player than Tannehill, but his height scares teams off. I personally don’t care as he played behind that Mammoth Wisconsin OL and shorter guys have had success in this league. I think he is the type of strong armed, smart, mobile QB Gailey would like and the perfect guy to develop as a backup. Just think of our running attack, with the All Pro Decastro leading the way, if teams had to worry about our QB booting right as Fred and Cj takeoff to the left? A mobile QB kills any type of backside pursuit, and the cut backs by Fred/Cj on those plays would rip defenses for 20 yarders routinely. This pick also allows us to ditch our current backup, and his salary. ROUND 4b-7 - Too hard to predict who will be there and position really doesn’t matter at all, maybe a CB for depth as we have always had good luck with alte round CBs, BPA otherwise.
  16. Well I didn’t know about Tampa’s LT but them having a good one only helps our case. I guess St Louis could ditch that Smith guy who they took a few years back at #2, but they also need weapons for Bradford and knowing Fisher he will want to build up their DL, so I could see one of the stud DTs being their pick. I think the chances of Kalil falling are better than we think – assuming he slips Min obviously.
  17. He is a guy I was really hoping for at our 2nd round pick. This is a WR heavy draft and with his 4.67 40 at the combine I was thinking we had a chance at him. Now, maybe not. Anyone know if he ran the 40 on a track? I think it’s silly when these guys run on a track surface or with track spikes – as if they will ever do that during a game. That is whats good about the combine, same surface means everyone’s time is relative to everyone else’s.
  18. Think of this objectively. Min could easily take Blackmon as they have no receivers, or some other guy. The teams that pick next are: Browns – Top LT already Bucs – Possible landing spot St. L – two top picks invest in solid tackles recently, Rodger Saffold at LT Jax – Same as St. L (Eugene Monroe at LT) Car – Top LT already Miami – Top LT already Buffalo – Drafts Kalil with no questions asked. Then look at the next ten teams drafting that could theoretically trade up. Only Arizona really needs a LT, and they don’t have their 2nd this year (Kolb trade) If Min passes on him and TB does too – it will be very hard for a team to trade up in front of us, and I don’t see another team already ahead of us taking him.
  19. Actually, Nix and co have been extremely straight forward in the guys they have liked. Spiller was the 'water bug'. The Bills openly commented on how much they liked Shep and Hairston. Nix openly commented on how much he liked C Newton and V Miller was even photographed wearing a Bills hat at the Sr Bowl. He said he would be asleep at midnight last offseason and he was. He said we would be big players going after a difference maker, and he had a plane waiting M Williams at 3:59. He is a straight shooter. If he is leaning tackle, he will take one if there is a good one. I also expect it to be a guy with the prototypical size of a LT. Nix seems to prefer guys like that.
  20. Anyone else reminded of Aaron Rodgers watching that highlight? I can see him on the Packers sideline already.
  21. Why is everyone assuming that Shep would get benched? The Bills wont take a LB if we cant start along with Shep and Barnett. Barnett easily moved outside, maybe they move Shep to SAM, or maybe the LB they draft they think can play SAM. I agree with this statement. But I have warmed to the idea of taking a LB IF he is a three down player that could cover a Gronk or Hernandez. That is because Shep is not that LB, likely a career 2 down guy, and Barnett is older and wont be around for long.
