I think "gifting them" is hyperbole. A historical advantage over all previous expansion teams is more like it. You still have to build a cohesive unit in a short time. The scouting had to be on point. It's remarkable to me Vegas management/scouting staff was able to put together almost an entire team with the high motor it takes to play that type of game. I get your point but at the same time I grudgingly give them kudos for the quality they have achieved. We gave them a good run but a couple key guys (Donskoi and Kane) were far from 100% and the Sharks had to be that to have a chance.

Knights looked a little tired in the 3rd. Stuck it out though. Very good team. Very tough to play against. When I watch them it always seems they have one more player on the ice than the opposition. So quick to the puck.

"Ground Chuck" moniker was definitely earned. But the running game was effective with the likes of Curtis Brown and Roland Hooks. I hate to be the old guy with "I remember when" but...his ground game made his other creative type plays effective. One game I was at he burned some team with a play action, tight end screen to Rubin Gant that went for 60 or 70 yards. No one near him.

Aint that the truth! He is my favorite Bills coach. None other even close. The most professional and competent imho. If people (the newer fans) think that the last decade has been bad they should have watched them back in the late 70s. The team was utterly hopeless after OJ was done. Qb's the likes of Matt Kofler and Gary Marangi. He came in and got the team back to fundamentals and gradually got them very competitive. Some great games back then. One game in particular I remember in '80 was against the Rams. Weird weather day. Kind of surreal dark and foggy. I thought it was a coming out party for the Bills as they affirmed they were for real defeating a Super Bowl team(the year before) and then going to the playoffs.

I think it took a turn for the worse long before the Donald. I don't really look at politics as a huge contributing factor but maybe that's just my perspective coming through. One thing that's has been in the back of my mind (related to the Trump thing) for a while is how lawless our own government has been over the last few decades. Why should I be civil if the top guys feel they don't have to play by the rules? Maybe a stretch I don't know. Maybe is the lude, anything goes pop culture the last 20 years or so? But really it has to be all about upbringing. The helicopter, "not my kid" parents turned an entire generation into narcissistic douche bags? My gut tells me this is probably a bigger reason.

Common civility seems to be eroding. No one gives a shite anymore. People should feel free to stop with the f'ing dogs everywhere! At the restaurant. At Home Depot. At Safeway. On the plane. Really necessary to tow your dog everywhere you go? I love our dogs but it's just easier to leave them at home when out doing errands or to eat.

I don't get the NHL. Why the wait until Thursday for the Preds/Jets game? Talk about taking the steam out of a series. WTF? Dumb. Also, on a side note. What is up with Volkswagen and the commercial they show on all the NHL games? How the hell can they sell me a Volkswagen by showing me a bunch of drugged out, smelly, grubby hippies pushing a pos VW bus out of some mud probably contaminated by human waste from overworked porta-potties? Ugh!

I would like to see them sign Kane. Let Thornton go as he is an FA this summer. Let Ward go. Make a serious bid for Taveras. This morning they are saying that Kane is "Non-commital" on resigning. We didn't get too much out of Kane in the Vegas series as he is obviously still injured and no way 100%. Same with Danskoi for that matter. Anyway, my fear is they don't sign Kane or Taveras. Sign Joe and extend Pavelski. Too slow. Time to move on. They are a nice team. Not going to be easy against the Knights. You don't get a inch and they are quick.
